‘Shut Up’ Row in Hardoi School: Principal Accused of Abuse, Threatening Student’s Expulsion Over Notebooks

Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh): A controversy has erupted at a private school in Hardoi after its principal was accused of misbehaving with a parent, with a video of the incident going viral on social media.

According to reports, the incident took place at New Sunbeam School, where principal Mamta Mishra allegedly got into a heated argument with Neelam Verma, mother of a UKG student. The dispute reportedly began after the parent purchased notebooks from an outside shop instead of the school’s recommended vendor.

In the viral video, the principal is seen repeatedly shouting “shut up”—reportedly around ten times within a minute—and asking the parent to “get lost.” She also allegedly threatened to remove the child’s name from the school register and asked the parent to immediately withdraw the student.

The parent has further alleged that the principal used abusive and derogatory language, including terms such as “bloody fool,” “swine,” and “gawar.”

Following the incident, Neelam Verma filed a formal complaint with the District Magistrate, seeking strict action against the principal.

The episode has triggered widespread criticism online, raising concerns over the conduct of private educational institutions, alleged “commission-based” practices, and their treatment of parents despite charging high fees.

Authorities from the district administration and the Education Department are expected to review the matter. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
