00:07Hey, Matt Mitchell here from the band Pussifer. This is my Robin machete.
00:11Robin's a company from Houston, Texas that hand makes custom guitars.
00:14One of my first guitars growing up was a Robin, and I've always dreamed about having a machete.
00:19We're in the beginning stages of working on a signature model right now.
00:22Mine are mahogany bodies. It's a big, fat maple neck.
00:26Glow-in-the-dark side markers. It's got tall, narrow jumbo frets, so they're nice and tall, but they're skinny.
00:33Flush Mount Floyd. The pickups are Rio Grande pickups, also made in Houston.
00:38These pickups are really cool because, unlike our traditional humbucker that has smaller coils than a single coil has,
00:44these are actually the same wind and height as a regular single coil, so if you tap them, it's a
00:50true single coil.
00:51They're very articulate, lots of body to them. They don't get pinched.
00:54Some of the features that I really like are the offset body, which is pretty classic.
01:00The top is stepped like a firebird, and then the headstock is reminiscent of the Gibson Futura, which is super
01:06cool.
01:07Pretty simple. Three-position switch, volume tone, and yeah, love it.
