10:02So the question becomes, what are you afraid of people seeing?
10:06Certainly, I can be more negative.
10:10You know, I've struggled with depression a lot in my life.

10:14Not feeling totally confident.
10:15This character is somebody who helped me to be more positive.
10:18And I'm hoping that now I can have her learn from me how to, you know, have more of the
10:25heart that I think the judges are describing.

11:06And this is the perfect challenge to put that to the test.

15:15Sure.
15:16As my hormones started to go, I had an attraction towards women.
15:19And so I naturally just made the assumption that I must be gay, and that must be what all these
15:24feelings are.
15:24Now, of course, in 1995, you came out publicly.
15:26What was your father's thoughts?
15:27He was comfortable.
15:28But, you know, the first person in the family that I talked to was my grandma.
15:32Really?
15:36And, of course, she was amazing.
15:40And then the magical experience, dancing with the stars.
15:43How was that?
15:44Bianca talked to me a lot and kind of ignored my grandmother a little bit.
15:47So I was throwing her these kind of balls of, like, here, let's include her in this.
15:52Was it liberating to be in that moment?
15:54You know, learning the dances and dealing with all of it, it's pretty great.

15:58So the stage manager's telling me I've got to wrap it up.

17:25You know, there was a number of years where I knew I was transgender but was afraid to

17:29And so it was important for me to kind of give that back because I figured there's other
17:33people out there like me who are stuck.

29:20The thing about Bianca is she's so smart and professional that she made it about that and
29:27she forgot all the things that you actually have to do when you do a talk show, like listen

29:31Yeah, it probably comes with Bianca del Rio being more of a nightclub host where if you
29:36ask a question to the audience, you really don't care what they have to say.
29:40But that just takes a little bit of practice.
29:42She's got all the important ingredients to do this well if she wants to do this professionally.
