Dramatic visuals have emerged showing U.S. forces boarding and seizing a tanker allegedly linked to Iranian oil shipments — a move that is rapidly escalating tensions at sea.

According to official statements, the U.S. military has intercepted and seized multiple vessels connected to Iran’s oil network, including the tanker Majestic X, in international waters. Footage released by the Pentagon shows American personnel on board after the operation, highlighting an aggressive push to enforce sanctions and disrupt Iranian oil trade.

This comes amid a wider confrontation between the United States and Iran, with both sides targeting shipping routes linked to the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical oil corridors.

While the U.S. describes these actions as “maritime enforcement” against sanctioned oil smuggling, Iran has previously condemned such seizures as acts of aggression, raising fears of further escalation in the region.

01:03The United States Navy is no longer just blockading Iran's ports.
01:08It is now hunting Iranian oil tankers thousands of miles away, near India, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.
01:15And today, we have confirmation of at least three more interceptions.
01:19This is the Iran crisis going truly global.
01:23Let's break it all down.
01:24The U.S. military has intercepted at least three Iranian-flagged tankers in Asian waters
01:30and is redirecting them away from their positions near India, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka,
01:36according to shipping and security sources.
01:38Here's what we know about each vessel.
01:41First, there's the Deep Sea, an Iranian-flagged supertanker that was partially loaded with crude
01:46and last spotted on public tracking data off Malaysia's coast about a week ago.
01:51Second, the Seven, a smaller vessel with a maximum capacity of one million barrels, carrying
01:5765% of its load, last seen off Malaysia's coast about a month ago.
02:02And third, the Darina, a supertanker fully loaded with two million barrels of crude, last seen
02:09off the coast of southern India just three days ago.
02:12Now, there's potentially a fourth ship in play.
02:15U.S. forces may have intercepted the Iranian-flagged Daria tanker as well.
02:20That vessel failed to discharge its cargo of Iranian oil in India before a U.S. waiver on Iranian
02:26crude purchases expired on Sunday.
02:29U.S. CENTCOM confirmed on Wednesday that since the start of its blockade, U.S. forces have directed
02:3529 vessels to turn around or return to port—29 ships in just 10 days.
02:42On February 28, 2026, the U.S. and Israel launched surprise airstrikes on Iran, targeting
02:49military and government sites and assassinating Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other Iranian
02:54officials, beginning the 2026 Iran War.
02:58The Strait of Hormuz, which, in peacetime, carried about 25% of the world's seaborne oil
03:03trade and 20% of the world's liquefied natural gas, immediately became a flashpoint.
03:09Iran effectively closed it.
03:12Global oil markets went haywire.
03:14Dubai crude prices reached $166 per barrel, their highest on record.
03:20A fragile ceasefire was agreed on April 8, but it didn't hold cleanly.
03:25By April 12, J.D. Vance announced that talks between the U.S. and Iran had failed.
03:30Trump then declared a full U.S. naval blockade.
03:34Two days ago, we got a preview of just how aggressive this enforcement would be.
03:39U.S. forces conducted a right-of-visit maritime interdiction of the master transit Tefani, a
03:45vessel the Pentagon described as stateless in the Bay of Bengal between India and Southeast
03:50Asia, carrying Iranian oil.
03:52Iran's reaction?
03:54Tehran's foreign ministry called the boarding, as well as the earlier seizure of a cargo ship,
03:59piracy at sea and state terrorism.
04:03Just hours before the ceasefire was set to expire on Wednesday, Trump extended it at the
04:08request of mediating country Pakistan, giving Tehran time to present a unified proposal.
04:13But the blockade stays on.
04:15And Iran struck back the same day.
04:18Iran attacked at least three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, just hours
04:24after Trump announced the ceasefire extension.
04:27The planned second round of peace talks in Islamabad collapsed before they even started.
04:32Iran's position is clear.
04:34Iranian President Pezeshkin said Iran welcomes dialogue, but that breach of commitments, blockade,
04:40and threats are the main obstacles to genuine negotiations.
04:44The next 48 to 72 hours are going to be critical.
04:48Will Iran send a delegation?
04:50Will the blockade force Tehran's hand?
04:52Or does this spiral back into open conflict?
