00:42The US military has intercepted at least three Iranian-flagged tankers in Asian waters
00:47and is redirecting them away from their positions near India, Malaysia and Sri Lanka, according
00:53to shipping and security sources.
00:55Here's what we know about each vessel.
00:58First, there's the Deep Sea, an Iranian-flagged supertanker that was partially loaded with
01:03crude and last spotted on public tracking data off Malaysia's coast about a week ago.
01:08Second, the Seven, a smaller vessel with a maximum capacity of one million barrels, carrying 65%
01:15of its load, last seen off Malaysia's coast about a month ago.
01:19And third, the Darina, a supertanker fully loaded with two million barrels of crude last seen
01:26off the coast of southern India just three days ago.
01:29Now there's potentially a fourth ship in play.
01:32US forces may have intercepted the Iranian-flagged Daria tanker as well.
01:37That vessel failed to discharge its cargo of Iranian oil in India before a US waiver on Iranian
01:43crude purchases expired on Sunday.
01:46US CENTCOM confirmed on Wednesday that since the start of its blockade, US forces have directed
01:5229 vessels to turn around or return to port.
01:5529 ships in just 10 days.
01:59On February 28, 2026, the US and Israel launched surprise airstrikes on Iran, targeting military
02:06and government sites and assassinating Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other Iranian officials,

02:15The Strait of Hormuz, which in peacetime carried about 25% of the world's seaborne oil trade and

03:11Tehran's foreign ministry called the boarding, as well as the earlier seizure of a cargo ship,

03:20Just hours before the ceasefire was set to expire on Wednesday, Trump extended it at the
03:25request of mediating country Pakistan, giving Tehran time to present a unified proposal.
03:30But the blockade stays on.
03:32And Iran struck back the same day.
03:35Iran attacked at least three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, just hours
03:41after Trump announced the ceasefire extension.
03:44The planned second round of peace talks in Islamabad collapsed before they even started.
03:49Iran's position is clear.
03:51Iranian President Pezeshkin said Iran welcomes dialogue, but that breach of commitments, blockade,
03:57and threats are the main obstacles to genuine negotiations.
