The Nigerian Army has commissioned modern food processing and storage facilities at the Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches in Giri, Abuja, as part of efforts to strengthen food security and agricultural sustainability.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, represented by Major General Jerry Manjang, said the initiative forms part of the Army’s non-kinetic operations aimed at promoting peace through improved food systems and supporting national agricultural policies.

He described the project as a strategic intervention linking national security with food security, stressing that stability in food production is essential to broader peacebuilding efforts across Nigeria.
