00:06Sudan is now facing the world's worst humanitarian crisis,
00:10one defined not only by displacement but by widespread hunger, poverty and the near collapse of basic services.
00:18Across large parts of the country, hospitals are no longer functioning,
00:23schools remain closed and access to clean water is increasingly limited.
00:28Aid agencies warn that gender-based violence is also on the rise,
00:33with women and children among the most vulnerable.
00:37We need to do much, much more.
00:39And what we really need from the international community are two things.
00:43One is access. We need all sides to facilitate much larger volumes of humanitarian assistance
00:50and make sure that we can reach all people in need across the country.
00:54And second, we need money. We need much, much more funding in order to scale up this operation.
01:01Despite the scale of the crisis, international attention appears to be fading.
01:06Funding shortfalls have left humanitarian operations severely under-resourced,
01:12forcing difficult choices about who receives assistance and who is left behind.
01:17Analysts warn that, without renewed diplomatic pressure and sustained global engagement,
01:23Sudan risks slipping into a prolonged and largely forgotten conflict,
01:28one where suffering continues largely out of sight.
01:33I do not believe, given all the indicators on the ground, that there are any prospects for a solution
01:38or that the warring parties have a genuine will for peace.
01:41They are not thinking about peace, but rather about how to strengthen their tools to continue the war.
01:47The world appears to be preoccupied with other issues,
01:50and donors seem to no longer be as generous as they once were.
01:54For many on the ground, that risk is no longer hypothetical, but an everyday reality.
02:01At the war grins on, the prospects for peace remain uncertain.
02:06With no breakthrough on the horizon, millions of Sudanese civilians are left waiting
02:11for safety, for aid, and for a future beyond war.
02:15In a wยปs over.
02:16Music.
