CAR: Deepening humanitarian crisis as refugees flee Sudan conflict
On a visit to the Central African Republic (CAR), UN Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator Joyce Msuya warned of a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation, as conflict, climate shocks, and dwindling aid converge to put millions at risk.

00:09Refugees pouring in from war-torn Sudan and critical aid shrinking as funding dries up, leaving many caught in a growing humanitarian emergency.
00:17Yesterday I spent a few hours with Sudanese refugees in Birao, a community of 16,000 Central Africans, hosting 27,000 Sudanese refugees, 56% of those 27,000 are women and children.
00:42And I have seen pain. Yesterday was a different level of pain.
00:51Women whose limbs have been cut and yet been troubled with their injuries to car because it's safer here.
01:04As of March of this year, over 42,000 individuals have fled from Sudan into car, including over 35,000 refugees.
01:16It's the war that got us here. We thank NGOs and the government who provided us with tarpaulins, mats, clothes, buckets, cups.
01:25They gave us all of them. We are grateful. The fact that we don't farm puts us in trouble.
01:29Despite security gains in parts of CARM, millions remain displaced, hungry and vulnerable.
01:42In areas still plagued by violence and climate shocks, basic aid is desperately needed.
