00:01Oh, my God.
00:02Previously on Seven Little Johnstons.
00:05I just see a man in a cop uniform.
00:07Oh, my God.
00:09Oh, dear God, don't take your clothes off.
00:12Woo-hoo!
00:14What's all this, Mom?
00:15Making like a care package for Nana.
00:18Nana was diagnosed with metastatic cancer.
00:20She is in a nursing home under hospice care.
00:23And at the hospital, Nana said that she does not want to treat it.
00:28We hope and pray and wish for comfort for Nana.
00:30That's all we can do.
00:34Apparently, my dress has been pushed further out.
00:37What's the date now?
00:38Like, middle of October.
00:40OK, well, that will not work.
00:42Our wedding is the first week of November,
00:44which is definitely not enough time for me
00:47to be able to get alterations done on the dress.
00:50So, yeah, I'm freaking out.
01:06We're only a yard or two away from the goal.
01:10Bapu, you got fat erasers?
01:13What are you doing?
01:14My wedding guest sign for people to sign.
01:17This is like our guest book.
01:19We're about a month away from the wedding,
01:20and there are a lot of projects going on.
01:22I am working on our wedding guest book.
01:26I thought it would be cool for us to have something to hang.
01:30Why not?
01:31I'm kind of an artiste.
01:33I got a project for us to do here in a little bit.
01:36It's an activity that I saw on social media.
01:40Is it a fun activity?
01:41Yeah.
01:42Not long ago, I would scroll through social media,
01:44and I see these little videos of couples doing portraits of one another.
01:51Oh, wow.
01:52You're, like, all for real about this.
01:54And I thought, you know what?
01:55Elizabeth's working on her guest book, and she's very artistic,
01:58so this is a great time to test out our artistic abilities.
02:03Come on, guys.
02:04One second.
02:05Alex and I both lack artistic ability,
02:08so we knew that we're just going to be the team players
02:12and we're going to give it our best shot because we know we both suck.
02:16Me and Mom are going to paint each other.
02:19Jonah and Alex are going to paint each other.
02:23Bryce and Elizabeth are going to paint a mural of each other.
02:26And then Emma is going to paint a mural of Layton.
02:30I am a little sad no one's doing me.
02:32We'll have to wait until Layton gets older to see her artistic abilities.
02:37All right.
02:39Everybody have fun.
02:40There's no such thing as messing up.
02:49Now, all my sun blisters on my lips, you don't have to paint those.
02:52Don't be telling me what I need to be painting and what I don't.
02:55We just went fishing last weekend, and my lips were so warm.
02:59I had to put that. It was in the moment.
03:09See, I'm more of a draftsman or a pencil sketch. I am not a painter.
03:13I can paint some walls.
03:14I don't get anxiety, but for some reason, I got like a major anxiety.
03:18Like, I can't botch this and I can't ruin this.
03:21I saw Jonah over there just like, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
03:24And then I see Amber over there like, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
03:28And now he's like, back fist and a paintbrush.
03:33I just couldn't have fun with it. I don't know why. This is my activity and I wanted to have
03:37a good time, but it was hard.
03:39So the wedding dress, we are going to go pick it up from the shop and take it to the
03:47seamstress.
03:48Yes.
03:49Since the dress I ordered is delayed for another month, we decided to just buy the floor model.
03:55But I'm still pretty nervous about getting alterations done since we only have about a month left for the wedding.
04:03All right. Is everybody finished?
04:04Yes.
04:05Hold your canvas and lower your easel.
04:07We don't want to knock over easels or wake up the baby.
04:11No, I think, do we go one at a time or?
04:13One at a time, y'all.
04:13Oh, yeah.
04:14One, two, three.
04:16Oh, my God.
04:17Ted, you didn't even.
04:18Yeah.
04:19Good God.
04:20Is mom just white?
04:21I got stuck.
04:22Hair's perfect.
04:23I didn't want to botch it up.
04:24And you gave me my sore lips.
04:27Hi.
04:28My name's Trent.
04:30I used to a down wheel and we ended up a dairy farmer.
04:33It's the mighty on my face.
04:36I'm Amber and I'm very hollow.
04:42That was awful.
04:45Jonah and Alex.
04:46One, two, three.
04:48What happened to the nose?
04:50I rolled in dirt.
04:54My name is Jonah and what I lack in smell, I gain significantly in hair growth and eyes.
05:03Wow.
05:04That's pretty good, Jonah.
05:05The hair looks pretty good.
05:06I love that.
05:07I just painted blue over it.
05:09Softens everything up.
05:11I think this looks like a pretty good portrait of me.
05:14Like all the details are there and I like how it did the brushed pattern with it.
05:18So yeah, I would say this just looks, this looks really good.
05:21Let's see Leighton.
05:22I didn't finish it.
05:24Okay, let's see.
05:25Let's start it.
05:30So I had a photo on my phone and it was her in the bathtub and there's bubbles on her
05:37head and bubbles around her.
05:39It looks like she's, uh, she's spreading laces like taking poop or something.
05:42She's in the bath.
05:44It's bubbles.
05:45Oh, I thought those are angel wings and a halo.
05:47I thought it's like angels.
05:48I really didn't know what to say.
05:50I just didn't see Leighton at all.
05:53She was obviously missing the water in the bathtub, so it looks like my child is shaking pretty much a
05:59turn in heaven.
06:04I went a different route because I cannot paint people.
06:11I can't paint people and I painted the next best thing.
06:15Hey, I mean, I love deer.
06:17Is it wearing a bra?
06:18No, it's sunglasses.
06:20Her painting I loved because it was deer and I love deer hunting.
06:24Even though it wasn't me.
06:25It was, it had your hat and glasses on.
06:27Yeah, I'm saying even though like it wasn't my face, it was me.
06:32I'm a damn Lego with some fat ass Kim Kardashian lips.
06:36My name is Elizabeth and I had too much caffeine and too much Botox.
06:41Was this fun, everybody?
06:42Yes, it was.
06:44This turned out to be a really fun activity for the family.
06:47It definitely did give us a break from wedding planning, but we still have a lot of work to do
06:53in a short amount of time.
06:54All right, everybody pass your paints.
06:57Emma's painting would definitely give Blake nightmares.
07:01They say that comeback is stronger than the setback.
07:04When they correct, I speak the truth, then I spit facts.
07:07Big wax, what I stack, ain't no chit-chat.
07:09I'm on the move, making moves till my hit snaps.
07:11Off-righters, propping from all-nighters.
07:13Kicking nothing but fire, but I mean palm lighters.
07:15You going for that hundred yard mark or you going for the cart?
07:19I was trying to hit the cart guy.
07:21How are you?
07:21It's good to see you.
07:22Good to see you.
07:23How about yourself?
07:24That's what I got.
07:26Ooh, presents.
07:27Presents.
07:29They came in the other day.
07:30Today, I'm meeting my friend Rance, and he is a competitive golfer in the Adaptive Golf League.
07:38Rance has played golf with Jonah and I and our other group of little people that meet up every year
07:43in Myrtle Beach.
07:44And he has seen many of us play golf with clubs that I have modified and adapted for little people.
07:50I like this brandy.
07:51How do you like that?
07:51Yeah, that's nice.
07:52Boppage Golf is getting a little bit of traction.
07:54Yeah, yeah.
07:56For maybe five years now, I have been building golf clubs and adapting golf clubs for little people.
08:03I started my Boppage Golf business about two years ago.
08:07Jonah said, Dad, no pun intended, but what we're doing for little people is a very small market.
08:11We need to be doing this for everybody in our community.
08:13And I said, you know, that's a great idea.
08:16And that's how we started.
08:18How long have you had these?
08:20About 15 years.
08:21Are you serious?
08:22Yeah.
08:22So the clubs I play with are about 15 years old.
08:25I got them when I was in high school.
08:28But they are kids clubs, which are essentially clubs made for kids and then cut down to my size.
08:35They're actually not conforming for the PGA.
08:39They're not allowing them?
08:40They're so old, they're like actually outdated.
08:44So where do you play in the tour?
08:46So when I was in the tournament for the USGA qualifier, I played with some ladies clubs.
08:52That's not good.
08:53Yeah.
08:53That didn't go so well.
08:54Let me see you hit that.
08:55Yeah.
08:57How does that weight feel?
08:58It's a little light, because literally I didn't do anything to them.
09:00They're just junior clubs, got them cut.
09:03But this was the length that was comfortable for me.
09:07What are you pushing?
09:08110?
09:09115?
09:10Yeah, about 115.
09:12So the thing about kids clubs, they're made for kids.
09:15And yes, I am about the size of a 12 year old.
09:20However, my build, my muscles, my physique are not childlike.
09:29Now, you see you're getting a little whip, because you're not as straight right now.
09:33After seeing Rance hit, I have a really good idea of what he's looking for.
09:37I really hope Rance will be happy with these clubs that I recommended.
09:42Ta-da!
09:50May Funko Alex take your pictures, ladybug?
09:52So I'm taking a photography class this semester, and one of my assignments is to take portraits.
09:59Yeah, Bubba, you just set it up, and then you just hit the button whenever you hit it.
10:03Yeah, I'm ready.
10:03This is my first time taking portraits with my camera.
10:06And the main things I like taking pictures of are just, like, really inanimate objects.
10:11They're just very easy to take pictures of, because they stand still.
10:16Hey, Leighton, you want to come see the flowers?
10:20Look at the flowers!
10:22I decided to pick Leighton to be the subject of my portraits, because Leighton is about to turn two.
10:27I could go ahead and take her two-year-old photos for this assignment.
10:31But I know Mom and Liz are definitely going to have a lot of opinions about my pictures.
10:35So I'm a little nervous.
10:36Oh, that's okay.
10:39Mm!
10:40Mm-hmm!
10:41It's the matter, Leigh, bud.
10:43Maybe she's freaked out by the painted pumpkin over there.
10:46Last year, we stripped Leighton naked and put her in a pumpkin.
10:51Naked!
10:53I know, girl.
10:54Oh, this is so sad.
10:56Yeah!
10:57Yeah!
10:59That was a fail.
11:01She absolutely hated it.
11:03So this year, she will be fully clothed, and she's older, and understands, you know, what it means to have
11:09her picture taken.
11:10Ladybug!
11:11There she is!
11:13Are you going to take her over past you?
11:15I'm working on it.
11:16I think the best way to make a toddler smile for a photo is, like, do something that the toddler
11:21likes to make him smile.
11:23Yeah, do the sneezing.
11:25Ah!
11:26Ah!
11:27Ah!
11:28Ah!
11:29Ah!
11:30Ah!
11:34Ah!
11:35Ah!
11:40Ah!
11:40Achoo!
11:41I guess I could just sneeze all day for Leigh in.
11:45You want to hold that?
11:47It's pretty crazy that we will have a 2-year-old being our little flower girl walking down the aisle
11:54for our wedding day.
11:55Alex, you come this way.
11:57All right.
11:57Sneeze, Emma.
11:58Achoo!
12:00Let's jump.
12:01Jump!
12:02Alex, try to zoom in close.
12:05Yeah, get close.
12:06Or, no, you can get there, but just zoom in.
12:10There. Layton.
12:12Keep going. Just keep going.
12:13Keep doing it. Keep doing it.
12:14There's a lot of opinions and help coming my way,
12:17but in the end, I'm just going to do what I need to do
12:20to get these pictures right.
12:21She's just walking.
12:23Layton.
12:23Go towards her.
12:27Layton. Layton.
12:28Do it. Do it.
12:28No crap. She's moving quick.
12:32Layton.
12:39Ta-da.
12:41These are sick.
12:42Yeah.
12:44All right, let's stay with what you've been hitting.
12:45There's your 7-iron.
12:46Yeah.
12:47Rance is a mutual friend of mine and Jonah's,
12:49and he is an extremely good golfer.
12:51But Rance is still playing the same set of junior golf clubs
12:55that he's had for a little over 15 years,
12:56and I am confident that I can improve Rance's golf game
12:59with a new set of clubs.
13:01Whew. Man.
13:03I'm hype about these.
13:04I know they're a little long.
13:05They're four to five inches too long.
13:07It's crazy, Trent, because I've been going to the Taylor all my life,
13:11but I never went to the Taylor for my golf clubs.
13:14All my life I've had to adapt,
13:16whether it's going to the Taylor, pedal extenders for my car,
13:19stepladders around my apartment,
13:21and so I'm super excited to be fitted with a new set just for me,
13:26tailored down to my specifications to play my best golf.
13:34With this length?
13:35That length club right now.
13:36It's a little tricky.
13:38When Rance started swinging those full-size clubs,
13:41it's taking more energy out of him to swing this club to make it work.
13:45And if you're having to do that while you're competing in a tour match,
13:50I mean, by the 10th or 11th hole, you're gassed.
13:54I think with these clubs, getting them fitted for me,
13:58that'll shave five strokes off my handicap.
14:01Whether we're playing with little people or we're playing with our average-sized friends,
14:04we want to be equal.
14:07And playing golf as a little person with average-sized clubs is just...
14:12It's not a level playing field.
14:14I've built a lot of clubs for little people,
14:16but I want to build clubs for you to watch you advance your game.
14:19Thank you. I'm excited.
14:21I'm really thankful that I have earned Rance's business,
14:24but modifying and adapting these clubs for Rance will take some time.
14:27And in the meantime, I still have other things that I have to do at home
14:31to get ready for this wedding.
14:33My brother.
14:34Good to be here.
14:36Let me try to do my magic, man.
14:40Layton!
14:40Layton!
14:41Oh, crap.
14:42He's moving quick.
14:43He's going to mall.
14:43Alex is breaking his sweat over here.
14:46I'm taking a photography class, and for my assignment,
14:48I have to practice taking portraits,
14:50and I figured Layton would be a really good model.
14:53There we go.
14:54Layton!
14:55Get it kind of close in, Alex.
14:57You want to come a little more in front?
15:00What?
15:00All right, get ready, Alex.
15:01I'm ready.
15:02Get ready, Emma, fast.
15:03That's you!
15:04When you're taking pictures of a baby or a toddler,
15:06you have just got to stay on the person
15:10and your finger on the button to just keep going, keep going.
15:13Yeah, go ahead and get it.
15:15Well, she's turning her head, so I don't know.
15:16Ladybug!
15:17Layton!
15:18Do you all feel that sometimes your mom might have chewing
15:21on your fingers when it comes to doing photo shoots?
15:24My mom definitely has years upon years of experience.
15:28I've grown up with family portraits, pictures.
15:33Sit back a little bit, Trent.
15:34Jonah!
15:36Scoot over just a little and up some.
15:38Now, like, soften the smiles just natural,
15:41like you just farted.
15:43She definitely knows what works,
15:45and she doesn't want to spend all day trying to catch a good shot,
15:47so the way that she does it seems to work out pretty well.
15:50Layton!
15:51Layton!
15:52Ha!
15:53Swee!
15:55She's over the sneezing.
15:56Eh, I think she's just done.
15:57Well, you want to do mine?
15:58Yeah, we can do yours.
16:00So taking portraits of, like, older people is definitely easier.
16:03You don't have to, like, sneeze to make the, like, older person laugh.
16:06They can just smile on command, and, like, they can sit still.
16:09Versus Layton's kind of, like, all over the place,
16:11and you kind of have to make her, like, giggle in order to get her to smile.
16:14I mean, I'm all set in terms of my project,
16:17because, I mean, he only said I needed, I think, 24,
16:20and I got plenty of those.
16:21So I think the photo shoot went pretty well overall,
16:24but I am kind of nervous to see how the photos turned out.
16:27I hope I got some good ones, but I will find out soon.
16:30I hope you get extra points for how cute your niece is.
16:34I'll try.
16:48Babe?
16:49Oh, my Lord.
16:50Where can we hang these funny things?
16:52We are not hanging them anywhere.
16:54They need to be able to be put away.
16:57I look terrifying.
16:59Why do we want to look at that?
17:02I'll put you over here.
17:04Layton's going to come in here and be like, aww.
17:08I definitely don't think that the portraits set a sexy, romantic mood,
17:14but, you know, you can't laugh with each other.
17:17What can you do?
17:19At least I gave you good hair.
17:22Em was talking to me.
17:23She didn't want to be the maid of honor,
17:25because she didn't want to have to give a speech.
17:26But what she does want to do for her is give her a surprise bridal shower.
17:34Earlier this week, Emma and I discussed having a surprise bridal shower for Elizabeth.
17:39First thing we need to do?
17:42Invitations.
17:42Invitations.
17:43What are you thinking for food?
17:46Five-finger foods.
17:47Emma wants to have it at Honeywood Farms.
17:50So the theme is she's off the market, and it's got, you know, like floral market-y type thing,
17:57but bringing in the bridal twist to it that she's getting married.
18:02And then the flower bar.
18:04We have a lot to do.
18:05Yeah.
18:06So she didn't want all that other responsibility, but she's going to play in that bridal shower?
18:10Well, that's smaller.
18:12Is it really a surprise or is Elizabeth going to know on the side?
18:15Hopefully it's a surprise.
18:16Emma hasn't always been great at keeping secrets, but hopefully she can this time so Elizabeth doesn't find out about
18:23it.
18:25So, upcoming wedding projects that, you know, we've kind of...
18:30We have a list.
18:31We just haven't started our list.
18:32We haven't put off, but we've waited.
18:33Which is flagstones at the pavilion, grading the ground area where the ceremony's going to be, grass seeds, sod.
18:42Trying to have this ever-growing list of things that have to get done.
18:47And it's not that he has dropped the ball, but, you know, I am afraid that he's going to run
18:53out of time.
18:55To complete everything on the list.
18:57I'm going to need probably at least three or four Saturdays where all of us, Bryce, not all day long,
19:05but we get down there for a good four or five hours and try to bang out some of that
19:10work.
19:10Yeah.
19:10My goal still is to get everything ready, ready to go two weeks before the wedding.
19:15Yeah.
19:15That sure is a big wedding list I have to do just for some people that's already been down here
19:19and been around this house.
19:20Well, you keep expanding the list.
19:23What did I expand?
19:24Flagstones was not a Elizabeth thing, not a Amber thing.
19:28It was a you wanted to look more fancier and...
19:32Not more fancy. I wanted to be nice.
19:34Yeah.
19:35All right. Let's go to bed.
19:37Good night.
19:38Good night.
19:39Love you.
19:39That kiss came from that guy right there.
19:42Just luckily he doesn't look as horrifying.
19:56Hello?
19:58Hey.
19:58Hey.
19:59What are y'all doing?
20:00We're just working on schoolwork and just checking up on our grades and all that.
20:03I'm getting ready to turn in the driveway.
20:05Okay.
20:05Take a break and meet me outside down at the chicken coop.
20:09Oh, gosh.
20:10Grab the tall step ladder.
20:12I know it's weird, but bring that to the chicken coop.
20:13Okay, we will. Bye.
20:16Are we getting more chickens?
20:17I don't think mom would be too happy if we got more chickens, but...
20:20Do you want to get the lighter?
20:22Yeah, I will.
20:23I have no idea why dad wants us to meet him down at the chicken coop.
20:28Dad hated the idea of getting chickens.
20:31We are thinking about getting chickens.
20:34I don't touch the chickens. I don't touch. I don't touch either.
20:36But you are going to help build the coop.
20:39Yeah.
20:40And he wasn't happy a couple weeks ago with all the wedding planning going on.
20:45We got four chickens anyways.
20:47Wow, he's big.
20:49The names of the chickens are Kevin, Betty, Donny, and Fizzy.
20:54I was really not on the fence for chickens. I was actually against the fence.
20:58And then we get the chickens.
21:00Call me soft. Call me whatever you want.
21:02I got on board.
21:04Have they laid any eggs yet or no?
21:07Whoa, wow.
21:11My gosh.
21:24I have called Alex and Emma for both of them to meet me outside at the chicken coop because I
21:32have a surprise for them.
21:35Jack got a new coop.
21:37It's quite the up current.
21:38That is a lot bigger than this.
21:39Yeah, no kidding.
21:41And it's already built.
21:42So we'd have to build it.
21:44Wow.
21:45I think it's funny how dad was like super into the chickens at first.
21:48Now he just decided to go buy a McMansion for them.
21:51So we're able to like walk in this coop.
21:54Yeah.
21:55And I asked him when he built it if he could make the egg box slower.
21:59I was thinking about you.
22:00And I knew you kind of sort of didn't really like the cheap coop.
22:03So you want to unload it?
22:05Mm-hmm.
22:05I think it's cool that dad is opening up to the idea of us having chickens.
22:09One, two, three.
22:10I like how you can just walk right into this chicken coop because it'll make feeding them a lot easier.
22:15I thought we would need a ladder to reach in here, but I don't think we will.
22:19I didn't like Emma's little chicken coop. I didn't.
22:21I'm not like a tree hugger and I eat oatmeal six times a day and love every animal on this
22:27earth.
22:28But I think this one will be much easier for Emma and much more comfortable for Kevin and the girls.
22:35I hope all of them like this new chicken coop.
22:38Do you have a favorite yet?
22:40No, I don't really have a favorite.
22:43Wow.
22:44Hell yeah.
22:45Do you like this?
22:46Yeah.
22:47All right, we have one more task.
22:49Now it's time for us to wrangle up these chickens into the new coop.
22:52Come on.
22:53Emma, squat down.
22:59Let's talk about the chickens' personalities.
23:02I think Kevin is Emma's favorite.
23:04No.
23:05Kevin, go that way.
23:07Oh, God, let's talk about Kevin, that bastard.
23:09Kevin, come here. Y'all get in there.
23:12Kevin is the most annoying.
23:14He cock-a-doodle-doos in the middle of the day.
23:17Alice, keep closer.
23:18Keep closer.
23:18There we go.
23:19All right, now shut the door.
23:19Shut the door.
23:20Shut the door.
23:22Kevin is constantly, like, cock-a-doodle-doing every time I go outside.
23:26Keep going this way.
23:28He makes a lot of noise and he's just not very nice.
23:32Look, Kevin, you're home.
23:36I think they're happy.
23:39I actually need these chickens to help me out for an assignment.
23:42So I hope this new coop makes them happy.
23:47All right, let's go eat dinner.
23:52Babe, tuxes are here.
23:54So I just picked up the tuxes from these seamstress,
23:56and the guys definitely need to try them on
23:59to make sure that the links that the seamstress took off work
24:03and, you know, fit.
24:09What size were your pants?
24:11You can't fit them.
24:12You can't button them.
24:13I can't like that.
24:15Did you guys try these on at the...
24:17Yes.
24:18So, you know, turn steps out in the tux and it's tight.
24:22Dad definitely looks a little, like, tight in the tux.
24:24Sometimes when you hem the legs, it reduces the waist.
24:27It does not.
24:30Can you button that?
24:32It's a little short.
24:33It looks like you're about to, like, Hulk out,
24:35like an Incredible Hulk.
24:38What about this?
24:39I gotta do these.
24:41Oh, my God.
24:44I feel like you can't really move much at all
24:45because, like, this,
24:46I feel like he's gonna pop all the buttons in the shirt.
24:48I think something just happened between then and now.
24:52I probably put it on a little white.
24:53Yeah.
24:54It's...
24:55Maybe if I go pee or take a poop.
24:58These tuxes are not rented.
25:00They are bought.
25:00And there is no returning them
25:02because we have had to have them altered to fit us.
25:05Yeah, because it's too late to, like, start the process over.
25:08The only way this tux is gonna fit
25:10is for me to lose some weight and slim down.
25:14If I change my diet and I eat healthy,
25:17I think I can shed the weight quick.
25:19I mean, yeah, knock off my chicken biscuits
25:21or my breakfast burritos.
25:23His goal is to walk me down the aisle,
25:25so he needs to fit in this suit.
25:27Here, I'll get my...
25:28Please have some faith in me that you can fit yours.
25:30I should be able to.
25:32I don't think I've gained any weight.
25:33I've been the conscious...
25:34If you don't, y'all are all going in sweatsuits,
25:36a sauna, a sauna.
25:37Oh, I could do a sweatsuit.
25:39So we all got a little bit nervous about my tux
25:41because we were scared that it's gonna run small on me.
25:43But when I put on my tux, the shirt fit perfect.
25:46The pants were perfect.
25:47Everything just fit me perfectly.
25:50Oh, yeah.
25:51Liz, I have to show you the pictures
25:53that I took at the pumpkin patch of Layton.
25:55Oh.
25:56Yeah, and I have a portrait of you too, Ma.
25:58Oh, wow.
26:00So I looked at the pictures that we took at the pumpkin patch,
26:03and they all came out really good.
26:04So I had some portraits being on some canvases.
26:08So here's Layton.
26:10See, that was my favorite one.
26:12Layton looks beautiful.
26:13Alex did a wonderful job.
26:16It was a great two-year-old photo.
26:18I was very happy.
26:19Y'all can hang that up in your house.
26:21That is so cute.
26:22It's adorable.
26:23And here's your portrait, Ma.
26:25Alex did a great job.
26:27He really was very patient with Layton especially
26:30because it took her a while to warm up.
26:32And then here and there, he would be, you know,
26:34taking some pictures of me.
26:39That looks nice.
26:40Oh, who's that?
26:42Oh, my goodness.
26:43Is that a baby?
26:45That looks good.
26:46Oh, perfect that you're in here.
26:47I have one more to show y'all.
26:50I got this made, too.
26:51That's pretty sexy.
26:53That can go on your dating app.
26:55I was very surprised that I got a portrait.
26:57Um, I totally forgot that I did that.
27:01I mean, that is how Emma typically looks.
27:04So, I mean, why not have it on a canvas?
27:06You did very good, Alex.
27:08They're all very good.
27:09I'm glad we got to see what you look like in your suit.
27:12At least Alex's tux fits him.
27:14But I have about a month to try to slim down to fit mine.
27:20Dad, good luck to you.
27:21I can't believe that thing is that tight on me.
27:38I'm taking a psychology class and I have a project on animal behavior.
27:43I've been working with the chickens, observing them, and trying to train them on different things.
27:49Look.
27:52Put your other leg on there.
27:56I've made some progress and I'm going to show the family how they do and they better step it up.
28:04So what have you been able to get the chickens to do?
28:07Um, to come to me, to eat out of my hands.
28:12Show us.
28:13Yeah.
28:21So having the chicken eat out of your hand, that's good, but very entry level.
28:26Oh, did you get him to do the xylophone?
28:29Yeah.
28:30Now playing the xylophone, that's a trick.
28:33And I would give him a props if she were to have them learn that.
28:38Look at that.
28:42It's playing the xylophone.
28:45If you could train a chicken to do anything, what would you train it to do?
28:49Have it use the restroom in a specific area.
28:53So that way, poop is not everywhere.
28:56I'm not really going to make it do anything crazy.
28:58Just eat the mosquitoes so I don't get dead.
29:01Catching fish with his beak.
29:04Twerk.
29:08Yeah.
29:09Train the chicken to talk.
29:10Because everybody loves, like, when birds talk.
29:13It'd be pretty cool if I, every time I go down the hill, Kevin would shout out,
29:16What's up, Trent?
29:17Yeah.
29:19Bryce, let's see your mad chicken whisperer skills.
29:22Yeah, Mr. Animal Lover.
29:24Yeah.
29:25I think you can catch them.
29:28Come on.
29:29I would grab a chicken just to show everybody I can do it.
29:33I'll probably catch all four of them.
29:36Get it!
29:39Look at him, he's looking at you like, that's all you got, though?
29:42Come on, dear, Hunter.
29:46Chickens are hard to catch, and if they're not familiar with you, you're at a severe disadvantage.
29:50But Bryce, too, typically is a pretty cautious individual.
29:54I know from watching, Emma, you can't be real cautious.
29:58You just...
30:00Can you hunt chickens like you do turkeys?
30:04All right, I'm done.
30:07I just didn't have a lot of speed with my boots on, but...
30:10You're blaming your shoes, really?
30:13All right.
30:14Nice job, Emma.
30:15I mean, they played the xylophone, so that's one thing.
30:18That's an improvement.
30:19First time ever.
30:21It's hard working with chickens, so hopefully I get a good grade, but I don't think I'm gonna be training
30:26these chickens anymore.
30:27I mean, they need a break, and I need a break, for sure.
30:32Yeah, they're done.
30:33Peace.
30:34Bye-bye.
30:46Hi.
30:47Hi.
30:47Did you just get home?
30:48Yes.
30:49I heard you're making coffee.
30:51Working on Nana's stuff?
30:52Yeah.
30:53In order to start the Medicaid process, we have to have a QIT, which is a Qualified Income Trust Fund.
31:01Nana's health is declining quickly, and on top of everything that we have going on at home and all the
31:06projects that I have in my to-do list, I still have Nana to take care of.
31:11I have to get the trust set up, and I'm reading right now if we can do it before we
31:17go hiring an attorney.
31:18You know-
31:19Right now I'm the power of attorney, so anything that may be mistakenly done unwilling-
31:23Yeah, will fall on you.
31:24Come back on me.
31:27I am doing my best to oversee all of her affairs, and at times it's overwhelming, at times it's a
31:32lot.
31:33Maybe not physically, but mentally.
31:35And there are times when I have to pause and just reset in order to be successful and to do
31:41things the right way.
31:42As it stands right now, your mom, five months into the nursing home, she is not eating because of the
31:48pain and things like that.
31:51As much as you're able to prepare for a terminal illness like Nana's, it's still hard to watch your mom,
31:58your Nana, go through this process.
32:00Smile.
32:00Pretty.
32:01Anytime they come is wonderful.
32:04That's my life in there, you know.
32:06Happy birthday to you.
32:15These final days, they're challenging.
32:19Between trying to do this, trying to get ready for the wedding, trying to keep good spirits for the wedding,
32:26it's just stressful right now.
32:31As much as I want Elizabeth's wedding to happen and play out just as she has wished, I just need
32:40to step back, focus on Nana, handle some of her affairs.
32:44That way I can get back to my to-do list for the wedding.
32:49We're figuring it out.
32:51The best I can.
33:10There is an incredible amount of work to get done down in the field before the wedding and we are
33:17finally getting started on that process.
33:20Right now, we are a quarter of the way through.
33:22This is 24 feet long by 20 feet wide.
33:25We're going to do another 24 by 20 out there.
33:28We have a list of about six big projects that we have to do.
33:33The biggest project and probably the longest time-consuming project is the flagstones at the pavilion.
33:40And just because it don't go there perfect, you might have to turn one of these others to-
33:44Good job.
33:45Yeah, that's a good one.
33:46For the wedding, the pavilion is going to be where all the food is.
33:51So we really paid a lot of attention to make sure we didn't have too many small pieces in an
33:56area, but used the larger pieces to cover that ground and to make more of a level spot.
34:10It has been quite a while since everyone in the family has come together to work on a project.
34:16Come on, Dad, you're wasting time with that one little screw.
34:19My butt is not stuck.
34:21What are you doing?
34:21I had to get over to this part.
34:24Her butt's stuck.
34:25Whatever you do, don't let it go through that window.
34:33We're not doing this. We're not.
34:35When we have these major projects going on, sometimes it can turn into a crap show, honestly.
34:41You have to look out here and find a spot and then look up here and find a stone.
34:45And don't always grab the small piece.
34:47This is just another big project.
34:50And, of course, when we have Dad, some of us are going to get yelled at.
34:55Walk step by step on how we're going to do this.
34:57We're not winging it.
34:57So that means you have to stop talking.
35:00These six posts will turn into something by the time Thanksgiving hit.
35:03Something that we can use.
35:05It could turn into a joyful family Thanksgiving, or it could turn into a divorce.
35:08I really might rather shoveling now, especially if you're going to be standing on stools doing this on not level
35:15ground.
35:16There's nowhere on that machine does it says, do not stand on stools.
35:20It's called common sense.
35:21Since this project is for our wedding, I'm just going to keep my mouth shut and keep working.
35:26Papa's coming in with another one. Watch out.
35:28My belly's going to be orange after this carry right here.
35:32There you go.
35:33Y'all should have seen my t-shirt this morning.
35:35For real?
35:36Yeah.
35:37It just used to be my belly.
35:39But now my boobs have gone down.
35:40Like a damn oregano.
35:42It's almost like that.
35:43So Liz has a strategy.
35:45If you distract your father or kind of like walk around and look like you're busy,
35:48you won't really notice that you're not doing anything?
35:51No.
35:51I would have to disagree with Elizabeth.
35:53That's a false strategy.
35:54He knows how to decipher BS from real well.
35:58We're going to need about three more loads of dirt.
36:00You're dumping three more loads of sand?
36:03I ain't hanging for that.
36:05I am all for working on the flagstones, but I have things that I have to get done.
36:11And so Trent's on his own with this one.
36:15Do y'all know what the theme of this project is?
36:17Huh?
36:18They better live happily ever after.
36:21Yes, yes, yes.
36:25Jump right in Beverly, let's go.
36:28Let's go.
36:30Drop some bass on the radio.
36:32Hi.
36:33Can I go in the dressing room?
36:35Yeah.
36:36I got this part.
36:37You don't have to.
36:38I'm going to have to help you.
36:39I know I was going to zip because it's long.
36:41The thing, I don't want to trip over you.
36:43Okay.
36:44This wedding dress has been quite a journey.
36:46We found the dress.
36:47I ordered the dress.
36:49They said the dress would be here in September.
36:50I check on my dress.
36:52They said the dress won't be here until middle of October.
36:55So guess what?
36:57Floor model.
36:58And here we are now to get it altered.
37:01I hope that's kind of bent so it doesn't hold.
37:06That's great.
37:07Probably because it's been stretched on a lot of people.
37:11Being in the dress again, I am still very happy with my choice.
37:14I am glad that the floor model did not sell,
37:17or we would be looking for a completely different dress
37:19or moving our wedding date just to wait for my dress to come in.
37:23Hey.
37:24You ready for me?
37:25Yeah.
37:25She's just putting the shoes on.
37:27Shoes.
37:27It's a nice dress.
37:30Might be a lot of work for you, Miss Amy.
37:32Yes.
37:33We, of course, are seeing the one and only Amy,
37:36who has been doing all of our clothes since I was in my mother's uterus.
37:40She does all of our clothes.
37:41She does all of our formal wear.
37:43She does prom dresses.
37:45Prom dresses.
37:46She does all of it.
37:48So now this is our first wedding dress with her.
37:50So our biggest thing, you know, obviously this will be the easy part.
37:54Mm-hmm.
37:55But down here, how do we keep this?
38:02The tricky part with Elizabeth's dress is that all the way around the dress is a cut-out lace.
38:09So it's not just a straight line.
38:11We want to keep that.
38:12We want to keep the overall style of the dress.
38:14Even if we made a cut here, and we brought up, like, how you do my jeans.
38:20Uh-huh.
38:21And we brought up.
38:22Cut it here sort of together?
38:23Yeah.
38:24If we did that.
38:25What do you think?
38:26I really don't like it.
38:27See sort of cut it here.
38:29Yeah.
38:29I think I can cut it here.
38:32Basically, what she was telling me is she doesn't want to see a line at Elizabeth's knee.
38:36And I understand.
38:37But at the same time, for Elizabeth, it was important to keep the cut-out lace all the way around.
38:44Yeah.
38:44I feel like it would be more noticeable if we were missing that piece than just seeing
38:47a little faded line.
38:49So your neck can't keep her neck here.
38:52Yeah.
38:52If we just cut.
38:54Cut it here.
38:54Cut it here, and then see sort of, would it be okay?
38:56What?
38:57You have to speak about this.
38:58No, just sitting here thinking.
38:59Amy is great, but it's not like a prom dress or a simple shirt or a pair of pants.
39:05It is my wedding dress.
39:06And I'm a little nervous about our communication with Miss Amy.
39:11This underneath is straight.
39:14So this, you wouldn't have to cut through.
39:17No.
39:17I don't cut it here.
39:18I just in this one.
39:19Open it, then cut it, and then sort of together.
39:21But it'll...
39:23It'll...
39:23Yeah.
39:23Yeah.
39:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:26All right.
39:27Elizabeth's kind of relying on me to communicate with Amy.
39:30It's a little bit of pressure in the sense, I just want to make sure that I am communicating
39:35exactly what Elizabeth's looking for.
39:38But I'm not 100% sure that we are all on the same page.
39:44Okay.
39:44That's it.
39:45I think I'll...
39:46Yeah.
39:46Yeah.
39:47This dress is a dress that really is supposed to be the showstopper for a wedding.
39:54The tension is there on, you know, hoping and making sure that Amy understood what we
39:59are wanting for this dress.
40:00How long do you need?
40:03Three.
40:03Three.
40:04Three weeks?
40:04Three weeks.
40:06Since we're only a month away from the wedding, and it'll take about three weeks for the alterations
40:11to be done, that only gives me just a week before the wedding to hope and pray that this
40:15dress works out perfectly because, you know, there's not a backup dress.
40:20So there's a lot riding on this dress and these alterations.
40:24Thank you very much.
40:25Bye-bye.
40:30Next time on Seven Little Johnstons.
40:32It's a surprise, right?
40:33Yes, it is.
40:35Okay, okay.
40:35There's lots of others involved.
40:37I don't think I said anything.
40:38So hopefully the secret has been kept secret.
40:43I think I'll see her.
40:46Holy crap.
40:48Golly, I'm out of shape.
40:50Doing something this strenuous probably is not the best idea, but this work has to be done
40:55because the wedding's not going to be put on hold.
40:57The chest is just tight.
40:59So you have heart palpitations?
41:00Bad.
41:01Do you need to go to the ER?
41:04Is he about to pass out?
41:10Hello?
41:11The social worker wanted me to come home quick, so I made it to Nana's room.
41:15Nana just passed away about three, four minutes ago.
41:18Alex and I watched her take her last few breaths.
41:20It's gone.
41:23It's gone.
