00:02All right.
00:04She just took three steps.
00:05Come here, mama, smile.
00:06There's been a lot of changes and a lot of great things.
00:10Night-night.
00:12This evening is our first night staying in our home.
00:16Please do not make a big ol' mess.
00:18So now that we have our home.
00:20Marriage.
00:24Am I moving up here?
00:26I think you should.
00:27You seem pretty dead set on staying here,
00:28so I don't think I have much choice.
00:30My ideal plan is that once I'm through with college,
00:33I think that's when I'll start looking
00:35at moving up there with Allie.
00:40Look at us, going from being 16, talking about prom.
00:44Now we're talking about babies and engagement.
00:47I'm super excited about the future.
00:50What can I do for you?
00:51Just looking for some engagement rings.
00:53OK.
00:54Of course, you know I am nervous, because it's
00:56a once in a lifetime thing.
00:58Oh, gosh.
00:59My heart's racing.
01:04Yeah, happy birthday, Nana.
01:05Yeah, dog.
01:06She's scary?
01:07I just had a heart attack.
01:08I told her to scare you.
01:09Any time they come is wonderful.
01:13I'm very fortunate.
01:15I still think you should pack you up and move me to Hotties.
01:18I like my house.
01:20I like it right here.
01:21How come you don't come around?
01:24I mean, I do want to come around, but it's like,
01:26for the past 10 years, we've gotten to these arguments.
01:30It's like you're missing, like, Leighton's early childhood.
01:32Like, you could still be around.
01:33And it's not that easy after I get yelled at.
01:37Parents can come to my house and be rude as ,
01:41but I'm supposed to show up to my parents' house
01:43acting like nothing happened.
01:44You honestly, in your heart, feel like mom and dad still love you.
01:46Yes, and I love you guys.
01:48If you're not ready to talk, that's how
01:50we have to move forward right now.
01:51I love my family to death, but at a certain point,
01:55I have to stick up for myself.
01:57Call us when you're ready.
01:58Yeah.
01:59We miss you.
02:00We miss y'all.
02:00And we love you.
02:01I love you.
02:08I can tell you the story about two lovers
02:11and how their dreams came true.
02:13Ain't no holding back, no.
02:14You're the star of my show.
02:16When it comes to you, girl, you're the queen of my world.
02:18You're the one guy sent from afar.
02:21Put your hand in your pocket.
02:24Like, make it look cool.
02:26No.
02:28We got to show that this is engagement,
02:30not like regular photos.
02:31I know.
02:32We are getting married.
02:35Holy crap, we're engaged.
02:38Smile.
02:39You smile.
02:42A couple weeks ago, we went on a beach trip
02:45with my parents in Florida, and Bryce surprised me
02:49on the beach with a proposal.
02:52I just wanted to be at us three alone.
02:56She definitely had the biggest smile on her face.
02:59I was very happy, super surprised,
03:01and I could not wait to tell everybody.
03:06And we just waited for him to give us the text of,
03:11all right, it's done.
03:12Y'all can come on.
03:20And I was so excited that I didn't have to keep this secret
03:26anymore because it was very hard to keep it away from Liz.
03:31Elizabeth is our first child to get engaged,
03:33and we cannot wait to celebrate.
03:36Oh, yeah.
03:38Oh, yeah.
03:38All right, babe, take your shoes off.
03:39I'm staying in mine for height,
03:40and I don't care if I get these dirties.
03:42You're keeping them on in the water?
03:43Yeah.
03:44Those?
03:44For height.
03:44Are you crazy?
03:46I'm going to shrink.
03:47Now, come on.
03:47Do not do that.
03:48He's used to you being short, I promise.
03:50Yes, like, do not.
03:52Well, it's too late now.
03:53Hopefully those weren't expensive.
03:55No.
03:57See, because my dress is going to get wet anyways.
03:59This is part of the photo.
04:02When Trent and I were engaged, I'm
04:05not going to say that engagement photos were not a thing,
04:10because they may have been.
04:12But for us, no.
04:16One, two, three.
04:21Don't fall.
04:22No, my shoe got broke.
04:23You ready?
04:24Yeah.
04:25OK, hold on.
04:26One, two, three.
04:29There we go.
04:31And she didn't fall.
04:33In our little people community, our wedding photo,
04:35it was in the Little People of America today, in the back.
04:41You know, they put you right back there
04:43with the obituary of the little people.
04:45So they got married, and they died.
04:48OK, so what's the surprise that you were talking about?
04:51Well, I'll have to show you.
04:53I can't just tell you.
04:54OK, well, show me.
04:56I'll be right back.
04:57OK.
04:58So I plan to have a little surprise for our engagement photos.
05:04Bryce, no.
05:06What?
05:07No.
05:08Come on.
05:09No.
05:10I mean, I think it looks good, especially on the river.
05:13I don't mind drowning you in this water now.
05:15I don't know.
05:15When Bryce shows up in full camo, I'm like,
05:18it doesn't surprise me.
05:20These aren't going on our wedding page or in invitation,
05:23so you can just have them to put in your shed
05:24and lock away forever.
05:26But that's about it.
05:26As long as I have them.
05:27I think in order, starting from top to bottom, Bryce's priorities are Leighton, Elizabeth,
05:39fishing, hunting, and cold beer.
05:45Now look at each other and smile.
05:48Not like you hate each other.
05:49There we go.
05:50She didn't kill him.
05:51We're good.
05:52Even though I may suffer, I'm just glad we got all the pretty pictures done and away with,
05:56the ones that will definitely be going on the invite.
06:02You know you love me.
06:04Mm-hmm.
06:06Oh, that's cute.
06:07Just keep doing that.
06:09Hmm.
06:09Well, you don't have to make that meat.
06:10There we go.
06:11Let the temples pop.
06:15All right.
06:16I got one more.
06:17Of course.
06:18Bryce had another outfit for me.
06:21All right.
06:22You ready?
06:22I don't leave it.
06:23You ready?
06:27What'd you think?
06:28This is going to be you.
06:29In like 30 years.
06:33Are you happy now?
06:35Yeah.
06:36Does he have like a man cave?
06:38Yes, he does.
06:39Okay, well, we're going to frame one of these for his man cave.
06:41We can't wait to see the photos, but in the back of my mind, I know we need to get
06:46started
06:46on this wedding planning because it's a quick engagement.
06:49Come on, Gilligan.
06:50Let's go home.
06:51Maybe we should get married in this.
07:01Mom?
07:05Hello?
07:07Holly?
07:08I went to flower girl dress shopping while Emma was watching Leighton for me.
07:12Emma is our go-to babysitter with Leighton because they have a bond like no other.
07:16You got to come look at Leighton's dress.
07:18Oh, wow.
07:20How'd you fit into that?
07:22I did.
07:23Waist snatcher.
07:25I'm Emma.
07:26You grew.
07:27I know.
07:28Your toes.
07:29I didn't see your toes.
07:30I know.
07:31Because you said you walked barefoot down the aisle.
07:32I did, and the dress was like that.
07:35But I did not grow, so I don't know what, I mean, other than I probably didn't have that,
07:41so it made it go down.
07:43This is my wedding dress from November 21st, 1998.
07:48But I pulled it out because we have dress shopping coming, wedding dress shopping coming
07:54up for Elizabeth to show her what a wedding dress looks like from the 90s.
08:03But I figured I would, um, well, A, see if I was able to get back in my dress.
08:10But then the other thing is, is we've got your wedding dress shopping appointment.
08:15This was so much more fun.
08:17So this is prepping you that it's going to be, I don't know if my dress is going to be
08:23highly uncomfortable.
08:24That's snatched, but yeah.
08:26I mean, Mom's wedding dress style that she had picked when she had her wedding, uh, it
08:31was very my mom.
08:32Very similar to the style that I want as far as, like, the fabric and, like, the beading.
08:36But I know I cannot fit in her dress, so I can't use it.
08:40Oh, my gosh.
08:42Emma could, however.
08:43I could.
08:44We just have to get some padding for her chest.
08:46Oh, my gosh.
08:47That's about it.
08:50Yeah, can you believe your mom can get back in this thing?
08:53Yeah.
08:54Leah, did you see it?
08:57Emma, what's new with you?
08:58Me?
08:59I'm a sophomore in college, majoring in psychology.
09:03I'm still TikTok-ing, and I'm enjoying playing with my knees.
09:10So I will say I do like that yours is more like pearls.
09:13Mm-hmm.
09:13I do like that more than, like, just the sparkle.
09:16Sparkle.
09:17Yeah.
09:17Because I know nowadays a lot of the dresses are, like, really sparkly.
09:20I guess yours is, like, embroidered.
09:23I know the neckline, I want it very similar, like, just lower.
09:25I don't want it up.
09:26But, like, the A-line, the scoop.
09:29I know what it's like to take Elizabeth clothes shopping.
09:32Elizabeth has almost zero patience.
09:35So wedding dress shopping, I am, we may even be in the negative.
09:40And I don't want the sweetheart, and I don't want a poofy skirt.
09:42I think she's going to be a nightmare.
09:45As far as thinking about, you know, the LP factor in trying on dresses, don't put that
09:54as, like, oh, this totally won't work.
09:57Just try it on, and then we can go from there.
09:59Because really, I mean, even if there's not a seam, like, here, they can make one.
10:06With any little person, when you're seeing a photo of someone in a wedding dress, that
10:12someone is not you.
10:14And we talked about that with Elizabeth.
10:16She's, like, looking at all these pictures, I like this, and I like that.
10:18She says, I just wish I knew what it looked like to a little person.
10:21And I said, we've never had that chance.
10:23Now, are you able to get out with a dress?
10:25Well, I mean, I'll have to have help.
10:26So my wedding dress shopping story, I went to the outlet store up in Forest Park, Georgia.
10:32They have a selection of wedding dresses, $199.
10:37You see, I got her potential flower girl dresses.
10:41Yeah.
10:42Yeah?
10:42Did you just fart?
10:44Your dress just made you fart?
10:45It's squeezing you?
10:47Oh, my God.
10:48Yeah, it's, like, squeezing your belly.
10:49I hear it's, like...
10:50Jeez.
10:51I can...
10:53So my dress is extremely tight, and it caused me to let out a little heart.
11:01I mean, it has to go somewhere.
11:05And actually, it made a little bit more room.
11:08Emma, you gotta come help me.
11:09Oh, this way.
11:10We're going this way.
11:11Yes.
11:13Dun, dun, da-dun.
11:15Dun, dun, da-dun.
11:24Happy Father's Day.
11:25Happy Father's Day.
11:26Damn right.
11:27It goes to the moms, too.
11:30If it weren't for the fathers, you gotta understand something.
11:33This is very important.
11:34If it wasn't for the fathers, there would be no mothers.
11:35If it weren't for the mothers, there would be no fathers.
11:38No, listen, listen.
11:38This is a shared day, because you're 23.
11:41Oh, my God.
11:43Good job.
11:43Yes!
11:44She's 23.
11:4523 years ago, your mama probably wasn't in the mood, but she just gave in for about four
11:51minutes.
11:51Whatever.
11:52Okay, okay.
11:53Why are we talking about this?
11:54Whatever.
11:55Whatever.
11:56Happy Father's Day.
11:57Yeah, Emma was likely imported, so she don't have to worry about that.
11:59Yeah.
12:00It's Father's Day, and this is the first time the family has gotten together since Bryce
12:04and Elizabeth got engaged.
12:05This fella right here, he was the easiest.
12:08We just went up to the Atlanta airport.
12:10Oh, my gosh.
12:10We got our little package and came home.
12:12Right?
12:13He was the easiest?
12:14Really?
12:14Happy Father's Day.
12:15Happy Father's Day.
12:16To bring home.
12:17Oh, okay.
12:21So can you give us an update on what's going on with Anna?
12:26All of our children have the opportunity and the freedom to participate in the show.
12:37And the ones that have chosen to participate are participating, and the ones that have not
12:41are not.
12:56Happy Father's Day, Bryce.
12:57Yep.
12:58You too.
12:58So when are you going to become a father?
13:01Still got a while?
13:02Gotta get married.
13:04So, you know, life's been pretty good.
13:06Ashley and I have been together for going on six years now.
13:11I'm finishing up college, so back doing that.
13:15And overall, it's just taking it day by day and enjoying life.
13:20I've already told Bryce for our wedding planning that we are not going to be doing a fish fry.
13:24for our food.
13:25Yeah.
13:25Too hot, too boiling.
13:28Yeah.
13:28Well, then that's when we were talking about, like, what season, what we would like to do.
13:31So how soon do you want to get married?
13:33We have talked about wanting to do our wedding this year, because there's no need to wait
13:37a whole other year, because we're moved in.
13:40We have Leighton.
13:42So we are planning to get married in November of this year.
13:45So this is definitely going to be a quick engagement, just because we've been dating
13:50for six years.
13:51Why wait any longer?
13:53Like fall of this year?
13:54Yeah.
13:56Between now and November, we have a lot to get done, and everything to, you know, be
14:02done the way that Elizabeth wants it, the way that Trent wants it, the way that I want
14:08it.
14:09It's, you know, hope we're able to pull it off.
14:13Layton, when do you want mom and daddy to get married?
14:17Right now.
14:18Yeah.
14:18Yeah, right now.
14:20Oh, what?
14:22We have always talked about, even before Layton, how me and mom would jokingly say, like,
14:26oh, it'd be funny if we did, like, a wedding in the backyard.
14:32That's a lot of work.
14:35That's a lot of work.
14:36That's a lot of work, but it saves money for a venue.
14:38It's not just a matter of going down and set up our wedding.
14:40Venues are booked out until 2020.
14:42But aren't there venues where you just, like, write a check and they do everything?
14:44No.
14:45Yeah, but there is.
14:46But don't until 2017.
14:48And you're going to pay three times as much.
14:50We are thinking about having our wedding at my parents' house down in the field in the
14:55backyard because it's a lot of meaningful things that have happened.
14:59And it would be great to say we got married here and to bring our kids back in the future
15:04and say, this spot is where you and me and your dad made it official.
15:10So, I mean, too, another reason why I want to do it in the fall is Nana's health right now,
15:15like, hoping to see Bryce and I married.
15:19Nana is not doing too well.
15:22In April, she was diagnosed with metastatic cancer.
15:25Right now, she is in a nursing home under hospice care,
15:29and we are pretty certain she is not going to be able to attend the wedding.
15:33From here on out, we're going to make sure that Nana is comfortable
15:37and she's peaceful, and we're going to enjoy the time that we have with her.
15:42And when do you send out the wedding announcement?
15:45Do we still do that? Is that a thing now?
15:47Yes, it's a thing because you do save the date cards.
15:51You send out save the date?
15:52You send out save the date cards before you send out.
15:55It's like the preliminary invite before the real invite.
15:57Yeah, it's the preliminary invite to the real invite.
15:59It's like a warning notice?
16:00Yeah.
16:00Yeah, a warning notice.
16:02What is the difference between a save the date and a wedding invitation?
16:08Hmm.
16:10It's really self-explanatory, too.
16:12So, um, let me think this over.
16:16When we come back from the convention, I'll send the save the dates,
16:18and then, um, around Labor Day, I'll send out the wedding invites.
16:22Do you send wedding invitations first or save the dates first?
16:24Save the dates first.
16:25It's kind of like a heads up, like, hey, our wedding's going to be on this day.
16:29Everybody that gets the warning notice, do they get a...
16:31Yes.
16:32An invitation.
16:35But it lets them know, like, book your calendar.
16:38Like, go ahead and put this date down.
16:39Save this date.
16:41The wedding invite is kind of like, hey, it's happening.
16:45Get ready.
16:47And then it's, like, all the details.
16:49Like...
16:50I just don't get it.
16:51I don't know, like, why don't you just...
16:52It's just...
16:53I'm glad I have you.
16:55I know, that's fine.
16:59I just need you there November 8th at 3 p.m.
17:02I'll be there.
17:03All right, baby.
17:04I think she's ready to get out of the high chair.
17:07Let me tell you, five months is a very short time period
17:11when planning a wedding and everything that we have to do.
17:17I'm sure diamonds forever.
17:21Ah, for worse or better.
17:24Dress up and go.
17:27Hello.
17:28How are you guys?
17:29Hi.
17:29It's so nice to meet everyone.
17:31Welcome to the shop.
17:33Um, so first, give me a rundown.
17:35This is my mother.
17:36Okay.
17:36This is my younger sister.
17:39Perfect.
17:39This is my other sister from another mother.
17:41I love that.
17:42We've known each other since first grade,
17:43so that's why she's practically a sister.
17:45My other mom, but this is Mandy.
17:47Okay.
17:47And then this is my...
17:48She really doesn't look her age to be this,
17:51but she's my great aunt.
17:52Oh, my goodness.
17:53This is actually my dad's aunt,
17:54but she is here with us today as well.
17:57So, all the important ladies.
17:58I definitely think these are the girls to bring
18:01when it comes to wedding dress shopping.
18:03They will be honest about their opinions,
18:05and I think their reactions will help me out a lot.
18:08And this will be a great time to formally ask Madison
18:12to be my maid of honor.
18:13Okay, cool.
18:14So, you've been dress shopping before?
18:16No, but I have an idea of what I am looking for,
18:18but we're open to trying different options,
18:21but I don't want a super poofy skirt.
18:23It just makes...
18:24It shrinks us, honestly,
18:25and it makes us look stumpy with a really full skirt.
18:27Okay.
18:27So, the A-line and the scoop net,
18:29I'm all about and not a ton of glitter.
18:33It's one thing to just look at wedding dresses online,
18:36and it's another thing when you're actually in the dress store
18:40surrounded by so many dresses,
18:41it's definitely a little stressful.
18:44I did tassel some of the ones that you sent me pictures of
18:47that we have in the store.
18:49Okay.
18:49So, this was one of the styles that you had liked.
18:53Yes.
18:54I know this bridal shop has a dress that I really like
18:58and have had my eye on for the last two months,
19:01and I cannot wait to try it on
19:03and hope this may be the one.
19:05But what we like to do is,
19:07we'll go around the store together
19:08and kind of just look through dresses,
19:10touch them, feel them, see what you're thinking,
19:12and then we'll tassel them as we go
19:13before we head upstairs and try some stuff on.
19:16Gotcha.
19:16So, we'll have a good...
19:17Yeah, so we'll have a good starting point.
19:19I want to see Liz in, like,
19:22a very sparkly dress,
19:25maybe a little bit poof.
19:27Yeah.
19:28This is like pageant dress shopping,
19:31but just white dresses.
19:32Come on, Madison, this is yours,
19:33because you're going to be next after me.
19:35I want to see Liz in something very soft and flowing
19:38to match her personality.
19:40I will try this one.
19:42I'll give it...
19:42Okay.
19:43So, when a neckline is not this deep,
19:45like, when it's a little more subtle in the sweetheart,
19:47I'm okay with it.
19:48Okay.
19:48It's just there's some that are so...
19:49Super plungy?
19:50Yeah.
19:51If I were to choose the kind of wedding dress I want for you,
19:56I would definitely want your boobies showing.
19:58Boobies?
19:59Okay.
20:01Oh, I like that one.
20:03That's pretty.
20:03Lizzie, try that one.
20:04Okay.
20:05Yes, Mom.
20:06That's very pretty.
20:08You have to say,
20:08Yes, Mom, to two people.
20:09I love it.
20:11This is my first time putting a little person in a wedding dress,
20:15which is really fun.
20:16Did you see one?
20:17So sure about the corset.
20:18That was the one I did see online.
20:20This was one that Elizabeth saw online.
20:21Dresses are made for all shapes and sizes.
20:24So, it's just like any other bride.
20:26We're just putting the dress on, getting it clipped in,
20:28hoping that she feels good in the dress.
20:31And at the end of the day, it's just all about finding the right fit,
20:33the right style, and the right vibe for the wedding.
20:35This is pretty.
20:36Yeah.
20:37That is pretty.
20:38Is wedding dress shopping different for little people
20:41than it is average size people?
20:43Absolutely.
20:44We know no matter what, we are going to have to make alterations.
20:48It's not just a matter of fact, it has to be shortened.
20:51You know, how does it have to be shortened?
20:54Is it being hemmed?
20:56Is it where you've got to somehow, you know, detach it here
21:00and bring it up this way so you can keep the, you know, design of the dress?
21:05And that one's a more relaxed, like, sheath style, so it doesn't hug too low.
21:10Yeah.
21:11Is that bad?
21:11It's just, like, gently grazes.
21:12It's pretty.
21:13Every dress can be altered.
21:15But, I mean, can it be altered to fit the individual?
21:22And not completely change the look of the dress?
21:25This is why I let you shop around, because you'll see things that speak to you.
21:28That is so pretty.
21:29Yeah.
21:29I just feel like I'll try to call it a day.
21:32Yeah.
21:32It's so beautiful.
21:33You do that one last.
21:35Yeah.
21:35I'll keep that one.
21:36That is so pretty.
21:37Yeah, that's a good one.
21:39Oh.
21:40Okay.
21:40I'm ready to try one now.
21:42Let's see.
21:42When it comes to shopping, for me, in general, I just stress out about it, because I am super
21:47picky, and I have the typical girl, like, whole body image thing in my head, and I just
21:53can't help it.
21:54Ooh.
21:54Ooh.
21:55Nice.
21:57Ooh.
21:57All right.
21:59I guess we'll start with the most basic one first.
22:02Yes.
22:02Yeah?
22:03I'll let you.
22:03I have one in the fitting room.
22:05Oh, okay.
22:05Never mind.
22:05So I have a method to my madness.
22:07I'm going to try to go in order of what I think you're going to love the best.
22:10Let me grab you a table, and then I'll meet you in the fitting room, and we'll get
22:13started.
22:14Nice.
22:16Waiting to see Liz in her first wedding dress.
22:20I'm definitely excited, and I'm definitely a little bit nervous, because Liz hates shopping.
22:28Let's go on out.
22:29Dress number one.
22:31Okay.
22:32Dress number one.
22:37Yeah.
22:38Yeah.
22:47So you're going to set it up right there?
22:49Yeah, probably on the phone.
22:50Let's just lay out all the material.
22:52While Amber and Elizabeth and the girls are out wedding dress shopping, me, Bryce, and Alex
22:58are at Bryce and Elizabeth's house putting together Layton's playground.
23:06Looks like a lot of wood.
23:09I want to build this playground for Layton because she loves being outside like her dad.
23:14It's just a great thing to build for her.
23:16M3, M4.
23:17If we don't do this now, we'll be looking for stuff nonstop.
23:23So there are, of course, a ton of pieces to put together on this playground.
23:30We didn't look to see what time it was before we started.
23:32We started 10 minutes ago.
23:33So what I thought was going to be a small little playground compared to some of the playgrounds
23:38we have built for our kids.
23:41You know, we opened this box.
23:42There are 712 pieces of wood and there's like 17,000 pieces of hardware.
23:50Step number one, open two cold beers and one Kool-Aid.
23:53Oh.
23:54Sounds nice.
23:55Which one do you get?
23:56The Kool-Aid.
23:57So I'm doing pretty good.
23:59Allie and I have been dating for about three years now and things have been going smooth
24:03between us.
24:05I'm going to college for film.
24:07I've made a few films in the past and the most recent one is a car commercial for my dad.
24:13And I am looking forward to broadening my editing skills.
24:17Little mama sells big houses.
24:21Drop it on lock.
24:22See our inventory.
24:24And hopefully finding some real actors for my films.
24:28A P1 dad?
24:29Yes.
24:30Right here.
24:31That's one we need.
24:36We're on page 17 and we have to go to page 59.
24:40And this is going to take a while.
24:43I even told Trent, I was like, just get prepared for a long day.
24:50Hey Trent.
24:51Hey Bryce.
24:53These little pieces of wood, the little things were supposed to go on the outside.
24:58What?
24:59The threads.
25:01Does this look straight to you Bryce?
25:03There were a few mishaps of us putting things in the wrong locations.
25:10Or maybe beat them out or something.
25:11There you go.
25:16We notice all these things like, all right, that's backwards.
25:20Dang, that one's, that one's backwards too.
25:23It's aggravating sometimes putting stuff together.
25:26We're on a two hour mark.
25:28We've been at this for two hours.
25:30We most likely were doing this because, you know, we wanted to get this done.
25:35We were like, all right, it's been a long time.
25:36Let's just hurry up.
25:38We're on page 29.
25:40I tell you what though.
25:42I'd rather build this thing and wipe a bull's ass of barbed wire and go dress shopping with them girls.
25:47Yeah, me too.
25:56Okay.
26:00We're ready.
26:02Yeah.
26:02We're ready.
26:02Okay, dress number one.
26:04I'll dress number one.
26:06Okay.
26:07Okay, dress number one.
26:07I'll dress number one.
26:09Okay.
26:09Ooh.
26:11Ooh.
26:15You okay?
26:16I can't show you.
26:18Look at him.
26:19This is pretty.
26:21Yeah.
26:22Being in a wedding dress for the first time, it's a little, I guess, shocking in the sense
26:26of, like, this is something that, like, girls talk about when they get into, like, middle
26:29school and high school.
26:31And now that it's actually happening, I'm like, dang, okay, it's getting real.
26:43As a mom, seeing my daughter in a wedding dress for the first time is somewhat surreal
26:48because it doesn't seem that long ago that I wasn't chasing her around like I'm chasing
26:54Leighton around.
26:57And now here we are wedding dress shopping.
27:01And I feel a little too princessy in this.
27:03Yeah.
27:04Yeah.
27:04I definitely think it is too princessy.
27:07I do like the neckline.
27:09The scoot line.
27:10Yeah.
27:10It's very flattering.
27:12I'm not even sure that I like how thick the straps are.
27:16Yeah, they're a little thick.
27:16They're more spigy.
27:17Very broad shoulder.
27:18Yeah, because she's very broad shoulder.
27:20Yeah.
27:20I like how poofy the skirt is not super poofy.
27:23And I like this, but not the basque waist.
27:26Yeah.
27:27Yeah.
27:28I feel like you're literally pointing to...
27:32First of all, you can immediately tell that Elizabeth is not comfortable with it.
27:38Um, the fact that it kind of goes to a wink down to her coochie, coochie.
27:47It's just not flattering.
27:49What are you not like?
27:52Yeah.
27:53Yeah.
27:53Yeah.
27:54Yeah.
27:54Yeah.
27:54Me just going like that.
27:56That's just...
27:56Just...
27:58Just don't...
27:59That thing.
28:01Or your belly area.
28:03The basque waist is not a fan.
28:04Yeah.
28:04Now we're past the belly.
28:05That's not really your style.
28:07I think next.
28:08Yeah.
28:09Next.
28:09Next.
28:10I'm definitely disappointed that dress number one was totally a bust, but we're going to
28:16keep going.
28:16All right.
28:17On to dress number two.
28:19Nope, that wasn't it.
28:23Get up, get set, let's go.
28:25Yeah.
28:30You make me happy, so happy.
28:32Ooh, na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
28:34Mandy, this one's yours.
28:37Oh.
28:40Very sparkly.
28:41Definitely sparkles.
28:43Now this is the square neckline with the skinny straps, like we were talking about.
28:48Yeah.
28:48So I do think we like these dress.
28:50It's very flattering, yet the waist down.
28:52Good.
28:53Very flattering, yeah.
28:54This is my favorite dress.
28:56I really did like it.
28:57It was a little sparkly for what she likes, but I thought it was a beautiful dress.
29:02Ooh, pockets.
29:04I love a good pocket.
29:05I love the pockets.
29:06The sparkles.
29:08Yes.
29:09Yes.
29:10I'm team sparkle.
29:11It looks really good.
29:13Waist is good.
29:14Girls are good.
29:15Everything's good.
29:16I kind of picked this dress, but I didn't do good.
29:20I don't like it.
29:22I'm just not sure it's the one.
29:25Yeah.
29:26The dress is, I feel a little promy.
29:28Yeah.
29:28When it's too much sparkle, I just feel like it's such a prom dress.
29:32A dress that's too glittery to me just makes it feel more like a prom, a formal, like an evening
29:36gown.
29:37I need it to feel like a wedding gown.
29:39Maybe not.
29:40It's the sparkles.
29:41Yeah.
29:41I'm not super sparkles.
29:42I would wear that.
29:43Yeah.
29:44This would be, yeah.
29:45That is pretty.
29:47In the pockets.
29:48Oh my gosh.
29:50Working with Liz feels totally natural.
29:52It doesn't feel like I'm doing anything different because I normally don't try to put a silhouette in my mind
29:58when the bride walks in the door.
29:59Because the most important thing to me is that the bride feels good in the silhouette.
30:03So just making sure she feels special, making sure she feels beautiful, and making sure she feels confident before we
30:07open up the curtain and let her walk out.
30:09But it's not terrible, but still not.
30:12No, it's not.
30:13There's some very flattering things about it on you.
30:16I do.
30:17I like the straps a lot.
30:17I love the skinny strap.
30:18I love the neckline.
30:20Truthfully, as a mom, I just want her to be, like, confident.
30:27Even if she doesn't like the style, but just, you know, be, like, confident and not get discouraged.
30:38I will say we are getting better.
30:41Closer.
30:42That's the goal.
30:43I'm trying to ramp up.
30:44Yeah.
30:45Yeah.
30:45All right.
30:47That's it.
30:49Oh, this is the one I picked.
30:50Yes.
30:51This is one that you sent me a picture of.
31:00Something's fishy.
31:03Like, smells like fish?
31:04No.
31:08We have moved this board four times.
31:11We're about to move it before the fifth.
31:12Uh-oh.
31:14Let me have it for a minute.
31:15Sorry.
31:15So, there is one board that got put in the wrong place or put on backwards, and it definitely
31:22causes some errors in the construction of this playground, and all of those have to loosen
31:29up.
31:29What?
31:30That board has to go over there, and all these have to slide forward, which, when you have
31:35something in the wrong place, the rest of the wood is not going to be correct, and sometimes
31:40the magetives come out, which we have to pray over since it's a child's playground.
31:44All right.
31:47Ow!
31:48Ow!
31:50You all right?
31:51Son of a bitch, I hurt.
31:53Did you see what I did?
31:54Yeah, yeah, yeah.
31:55I had a reversal of drill.
31:56You pinched your finger between the drill and the wood.
31:58Yeah, no, that sounds painful.
31:59That looked painful.
32:01I jammed my thumb between the screw and the top of the drill and the top railing on one
32:08of the boards.
32:10And I was like, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding.
32:12You have to put the drill in reverse to take your thumb out.
32:15That's nice.
32:16We ain't got many pieces left.
32:17Don't drop it on me.
32:18Here, right here.
32:19Has Elizabeth ever told you about our wedding?
32:21We had like 300 people at our wedding.
32:23The actual wedding planning, it really wasn't that bad.
32:26So how did you propose to Amber?
32:28Amber planned the whole thing.
32:30I came to Transparent's house one day, and I was like, you know what?
32:35If we're not going to move forward to the next phase in life, and that's getting married,
32:41then I'm out of here.
32:43So I waited about a week, and I bought her a ring and asked her to marry me.
32:50Oh, I got it.
32:51God, I heard that.
32:53You did not have some special thing on and get down on one knee.
32:59I didn't hire airplanes and parachutes and spotlights to, and, you know, ask the sea turtles
33:04to come out of the ocean to everybody gather around and why I proposed.
33:07No.
33:13I don't think that was part of, like, the planned proposal.
33:16We just happened to go out to eat after that happened.
33:19There wasn't a celebration.
33:20We were just hungry.
33:21And we had about $17 for our name, so we went to Waffle House or something.
33:24Who knows?
33:26Bryce.
33:28Sir.
33:29You love me?
33:30I do.
33:31I'm glad to be joining y'all's family soon.
33:34We're glad to have you, Bryce.
33:36Even if we choose the hottest day of the year, to put slingsets together.
33:48So this is the dress that I had on my phone for a couple of months, the one that I've
33:53seen
33:54in their shop.
33:55And I'm really excited to try it on, because I really think this may be the one.
33:59Oh.
34:00Oh, wow.
34:04That's what I said, too.
34:05Yeah.
34:22I'm glad you're trying it on.
34:24Yeah.
34:25Because this is the dress that she has had on her phone for, like, two months.
34:29This is what she's set.
34:33Well, I can tell you're not.
34:35I didn't realize how springy looking it would be.
34:39Yeah.
34:40Spring.
34:41Yeah.
34:42Or fall.
34:42I did.
34:42Like, the photo, it made me just, but now seeing it, I'm just kind of like, oh, man.
34:46So this dress is the dress that Elizabeth has had, like, on her phone for a long time.
34:53And, you know, she kind of had her heart set on it.
34:59But, um, I'm not, I'm not feeling it.
35:03Or if I was, like, inside, seeing as I'm outside.
35:06Yeah.
35:06I think from the waist up, it looks really, really good.
35:09It flatters her very well.
35:10The bottom is not my personal favorite.
35:13But it's very pretty.
35:14It's a beautiful dress.
35:15I like it.
35:16This was great.
35:16Yeah.
35:17That top is very flattering.
35:19Yeah.
35:20The dress that I thought I loved turned out to be not the one that I loved.
35:25And I'm pretty bummed because I even showed Mom a picture of this dress, too.
35:29And she was like, oh, yeah, this seems, like, very your style.
35:32Let's hope that they have it.
35:34Definitely put it on your list.
35:36And I put it on and look at myself.
35:37And I'm like, nope, this isn't the one.
35:39And then seeing my mom's reaction, because since she knew this was the one dress, she
35:44was kind of, like, I could see the bummed out look on her face, too.
35:47Like, dang.
35:49Because it just wasn't me.
35:52It's a good thing that you tried it on.
35:54Yeah.
35:54No, it's very pretty.
35:56I like that it's not the traditional lace.
35:58And I love the neckline.
35:59This is great.
36:00And I can breathe.
36:02Yeah.
36:03Without feeling like I can about pop a button.
36:06But I don't know if it necessarily...
36:10It is a little disappointing when you really think, like, you're absolutely going to love,
36:14like, you know, any piece of clothing.
36:16Like, you think that it's going to work out and it's going to look great.
36:19And then it ends up not being the one.
36:22And so it's kind of like you're back to square one.
36:24What I normally say we do at this point is I tell you, take a break.
36:28And I'm going to see if there's anything that I just think you should try.
36:31Yeah.
36:32Yeah.
36:32Let her go look at stuff.
36:34Yes, take a break.
36:35Break time.
36:46I think we're done.
36:50It's pretty good.
36:51Hard work pays off.
36:53Yeah, I think we did a really good job.
36:54I appreciate y'all's help.
36:55Let's go check it out.
36:56So when Layton came home from my parents' house, I was very excited to show her her brand new swing
37:03set.
37:04Look at your playground.
37:05What do you think, girl?
37:07Oh, she was very quiet at first, but I can tell that, you know, she was also excited.
37:14Hey, big girl.
37:15Oh, what do you think?
37:18Say, Daddy, you did a good job building this thing.
37:21Yeah.
37:22And the butterfly's still flying around.
37:23Look at that butterfly.
37:24Wow.
37:25She knew you was coming out here and she wanted to see you.
37:28Dad, the butterfly's on the back of your hat.
37:29Is it really?
37:30Yeah.
37:31Landed?
37:31Yeah.
37:32Well, it just got up, but now it's moved ahead.
37:33But yeah, it was for a minute.
37:35So right at the end, when Layton was enjoying the swing in the playground, we had this little butterfly that
37:41just flying around, sticking with us.
37:43It was just kind of like a little omen that's like, hey, welcome to your yard, Layton.
37:47Welcome to this special little place for you.
37:49I'm going to be here every day to see you.
37:51Oh, butterfly ride.
37:59So I tried on a few more dresses and they just were not it.
38:04I was not getting the bridal feeling, the, yep, this is the one.
38:11Nope.
38:15I was just like, hit the fan.
38:17Here we go.
38:18I was right.
38:19Dress shopping's going to suck.
38:21So I think it's, you know, time to call it a day and we'll find another dress shop.
38:28All right.
38:29Ready to get dressed?
38:30Are you done?
38:31Yeah.
38:31You done?
38:32I'm so done.
38:33I don't really think I'm feeling bad, but I don't think it's really necessary to keep trying dresses on at
38:40this spot and on this day.
38:45Okay.
38:53Dress shopping didn't go, you know, as well as I'd hoped, but I still have a surprise in store.
39:00Okay.
39:01Matt, come here.
39:03Oh.
39:04So, I have a big question to ask you.
39:08We have talked about this forever since we were kids.
39:11Don't start crying because you're going to make me start laughing.
39:13I'm getting nervous.
39:13Okay.
39:14But I would love for you, since we have literally been through our life together, you really are going to
39:19make me cry.
39:20Um, it's just amazing to me because she has watched me go through, uh, my entire life from, you know,
39:28she remembered when Bryce and I were dating and then, you know, telling her to become my god mama.
39:33And then here I am with my daughter.
39:36And then now I'm engaged and we're wedding dress shopping.
39:40You've been my best friend since forever.
39:43And there's nobody else that I would love to have the honor to be my maid of honor.
39:47Didn't you?
39:48Mm-hmm.
39:48Because you're like another sister.
39:50So, would you be my maid of honor?
39:52So, this is for you.
39:54Let's be happy.
39:55I got pretty emotional when asking Madison when I'm sitting there in front of her because, I mean, we would,
39:59we would talk about, you know, our weddings when we were in our younger teens.
40:02And it really is, there's not a lot of friendships like ours and there's no other person that I would
40:08rather have be my maid of honor than Madison.
40:12Yeah, you can open it.
40:15No way.
40:16Mm-hmm.
40:17Just all the little gadgets and gizmos and I have some jewelry that I would like for all of my
40:22bridesmaids to wear, but it's a mirror and like a little candle and glasses.
40:25Of course.
40:26Yeah.
40:27No pictures.
40:29So, that's for you.
40:29No problem.
40:30But I love you and I absolutely am thankful to have you.
40:34Of course, I'll be your bride.
40:35Or maid of honor.
40:36Maid of honor?
40:36Yeah.
40:37Maid of honor.
40:38To be Liz's maid of honor for me, seriously, it feels like she trusts me to fulfill those duties to
40:44help her make the most out of her big day.
40:46So, I feel like I'm very, very happy and I can't wait for it.
40:50I appreciate all your help.
40:52Absolutely.
40:53It was so much fun.
40:54It was so nice to meet everyone.
40:55I'm so glad you guys came out.
40:56I'm feeling a little discouraged because, I mean, it just sucks after trying lots of white on and none of
41:03the white works.
41:04Thank you so much.
41:05Yes, absolutely.
41:05I'm so glad you guys all came.
41:06It was so nice to meet everyone.
41:08I'm a little on edge because at the end of the day, we are very little on time for me
41:13to dress shop and to find a dress.
41:15So, it's kind of like within this week, I need to find one.
41:19All right.
41:20Oh, my God.
