00:00French Open coming up here, Joe, when we take a look at the Calci marketplace here, we cover everything.
00:05You got basketball, we got you. You got hockey, we got you. You want the NFL draft? Absolutely, we got
00:09you covered.
00:10And even into tennis here. The men's French Open winner here listed on Calci, the favorite by a wide margin
00:16now, Joe.
00:17Yannick Sinner, 58% currently here is the contract price, followed by Carlos Alcarez at 13%.
00:24And he's been taking a nosedive lately. Why? Because he might not play.
00:28You got to be in it to win it, Joe. And if he's not in it, is it just going
00:31to be Sinner running away?
00:32Where you look at that price point at $0.58 and you're like, sign me up now.
00:37Well, it does certainly open it up, doesn't it, a little bit here, Donnie?
00:41I mean, don't forget, these two went, what an epic final that was a year ago.
00:47Remember, that was just back and forth, back and forth. It was absolutely amazing.
00:52And now without Alcarez available, then yeah, Sinner is going to be a huge favorite.
00:58And then the question is, who's going to step up to go up against him?
01:01I don't think it's going to matter in Grand Slams. I think it's one or the other.
01:06And if Alcarez isn't available, it's going to make Sinner's path a lot easier, I think,
01:12to go ahead and do what he couldn't do against Alcarez last year, which is end up winning the French
01:17Open.
01:17Sure. Now, Joe, we're a month away, and we know sometimes you get these updates and maybe they're over-exaggerated.
01:23So we always like to say right now, like, well, yeah, just take Yannick Sinner, he's going to win this
01:25easy.
01:26But, Joe, the reverse of that would be, how about Carlos Alcarez, a yes price of only $0.19,
01:32which means a $100 investment pays back $5.27, Joe.
01:35Let's just say Alcarez goes, yeah, I had a good recovery. I feel good.
01:37I'm going to head into it and give it a go, where now all of a sudden that contract, without
01:41him even playing,
01:42but saying he's going to play, Joe, not going to be $0.19 as a contract, and that's the way
01:46that you can play it all.
01:47So I know looking at it from a Sinner perspective makes the most sense, but it's not as if we're
01:52starting tomorrow.
01:52It's like, yeah, I tore my ACL, of course I'm not going to be playing.
01:55Let's see if he plays, but also keep an eye on that contract price if he does at least announce
02:00that he's playing.
02:01So Carlos Alcarez, a grand slam to win this year, similar to the way we talk about the PGA Tour,
02:06Joe.
02:06Will Scotty Scheffler win a championship grand slam this year?
02:09Two, three, and all four are listed, Joe.
02:13They're not letting me just bet one.
02:14What's the deal with that?
02:15I want to invest in one, Joe.
02:17Well, it was funny when he held a press conference and was talking about, you know, what are you going
02:22to do?
02:23He's a two-time champion at the French Open, right?
02:25So the comment he made was, you know, I have a very long career ahead of me, many more years
02:32to come.
02:32So, you know, maybe it all depends on what this risk thing and how long it goes.
02:38I think that's the big unknown, Donnie.
02:40The easy answer is, well, listen, if he's able to play in them, he's going to win them, right?
02:46So, but he's not going to be in the French.
02:47He's only got a couple of more to go then.
02:49If he's not available for the next one, well, then he'd have to come back after a wrist injury.
02:55I don't know.
02:56I might be looking at the no markets more than anything else.
02:59Yeah, to win two or more, the no contract, Joe, is 34 cents here, which pays back $295.
03:05You missed one, you got three left, and who knows if you're healthy and also sinners out there that might
03:09be able to steal some of those from you here.
03:11The no contract, not a bad option when you're taking a look at the predictive markets here.
03:15Let's flip it over to the women's side of things at Roland Garros.
03:18Who's going to win that?
03:20Ariana Sabalenka, 26%.
03:22Iga Shwiantek, 22%.
03:24And Elena Rabakina, 12% here, Joe.
03:28How about that?
03:29Yep, you got to love it.
03:31This also very much wide open here, I think, on the women's side.
03:36And last year's also, I believe both the men and women's final last year was actually pretty crazy here.
03:44But yeah, I think those numbers, Donnie, more than anything else, will likely be, there's a lot of variants coming
03:51that way.
03:52Like you said, we got a month to go, and I think even on the women's side, I think the
03:56favorites could be any one of those top three by the time they hit the courts.
04:01Also, take a look at some of those American tennis players on the women's side that have made some pretty
04:05good runs here.
04:06But you want to see if they can win the championship on the predictive markets.
04:08They don't have to win it.
04:09Just have to keep advancing.
04:10Coco Gauff currently trading at $0.09 right now to be the winner.
04:13But also, Jessica Pegula, the daughter of the owners of the Buffalo Bills.
04:18She's made some strides in some tournaments lately.
04:20She's currently trading at $0.03, which means if she wins it, Joe, $100 investment pays back $3,334.
04:27But also, just got to keep advancing, and that price point will get a little bit better.
04:31Yannick Sinner, Grand Slam win this year.
04:33One, two, or three, Joe.
04:34As we know, maybe not playing up against the stiffest competition there in Carlos Alcaraz.
04:40How many do you think we get?
04:41It's 84% chance, by the way, to win at least one.
04:4445%, Joe, to win two.
04:4619% to win three or more Grand Slams this year.
04:51Well, I think his odds just got a little bit better here, Donnie, with, you know,
04:56Alcaraz not being at the French, which, by the way, the French is the only Grand Slam he has not
05:01won.
05:02So this would give him the career Grand Slam if he's able to get it.
05:05I'm just going to assume he does.
05:08And then the question is, will he get one more?
05:11And I think two or more is, I think it's juicy because I think that's exactly the kind of year
05:17he could have
05:17if you have an injured Alcaraz and a lot of question marks surrounding him.
05:22Yeah, mid to late May is when Roland Garros is going to take place, the French Open.
05:26ATP number one ranked player on the tour as of June 30th.
05:29You can also invest in that.
05:31Sinner's trading at a 91% clip.
05:32By the way, he's number one right now.
05:34So if Alcaraz doesn't play, he's probably still going to be number one if he wins or loses that tournament
05:40here.
05:40Something to keep an eye on, but that'll do it for today's prediction.
05:43Markets Edge on a Tuesday.
05:44We'll see you back on a Wednesday.
05:46Enjoy the rest of your day.
