00:01And we go live now to Cuba with images from the venue where Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel
00:08alongside all the participants are gathering this last day of the Patriarch Colloquium.
00:13Our colleague Evelyn Leyva has a special interview with the Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
00:19Let's listen.
00:22Greetings, colleagues. We continue here at the close of the fifth day of the fifth International Patriarch Colloquium
00:32where we are speaking with the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
00:38Mr. President, I would like to ask you for an overall assessment of the fifth Patriarch Colloquium
00:42and how it contributes to strengthening the voice of countries from the global south.
00:48Well, first of all, greetings to the Venezuelan people, to the entire TELESUR team
00:53and to all of Latin America watching TELESUR.
00:57I believe that the fifth Patriarch Colloquium has established itself as a space for communication debate
01:05from a left-wing humanistic perspective, one that aligns with the communication challenges
01:14we face in today's complex world.
01:19This is an event where the feelings, aspirations, and expectations of the peoples of the global south
01:30are constantly reflected.
01:33It is therefore a platform that responds to the most just causes.
01:36As we've seen in this fifth edition, the event has continued to grow.
01:42I think it is an event that is characterized by a strong revolutionary and media-driven commitment
01:50from a leftist and above humanistic standpoint.
01:54It allows for collaboration.
01:57There are many valuable contributions, shared experience in communications,
02:01as well as in-depth analysis of political and social communication.
02:08And there is also a democratic and open environment for discussion and debate
02:16where participants truly feel they are learning and contributing.
02:23Therefore, at the end of an event like this, participants are left with a sense of growth
02:31and of having learned, contributed, and discovering new possibilities for collaboration.
02:45The event provides tools, opportunities, and knowledge that helps strengthen coordination
02:49across communication platforms, ultimately fostering unity and communication from the left.
02:54I feel very satisfied with what has been achieved.
03:09I feel very satisfied.
03:12When Patria first began, on a small scale, we could not have imagined it would reach this level.
03:21But I believe the leadership of Rosa Miriam and her team, along with the support of all participants,
03:34especially we have to thank Telesur, that has been essential.
03:39We all benefit from Patria.
