00:00And now we go to Cuba where the Patriarch Colloquium continues this Friday on its second day.
00:04Participants from various countries gather to discuss communication not only as technology
00:10but also as a political, culture and ethical field in the global debate from the global south.
00:17Hello studios, it's a pleasure to meet you once again here from Havana, Cuba.
00:21Second day of the Patriarch Colloquium.
00:24We've been talking about the importance of this colloquium happening at a moment of a crucial attack
00:30from the United States against Cuba and with these attempts of isolating the island,
00:37this Patriarch Colloquium is a way of international cooperation showing and stating that Cuba is not alone.
00:44That is one of the main axes, but that is not just some phrase.
00:47It is the idea of understanding how from the media world, from the communications world,
00:52common strategies can come together to really think of new ways of approaching our own narratives from the global south.
01:02We've been talking about the experiences of Omayyadine, for example, and what is happening in Lebanon right now.
01:09Also from initiatives from Iran and how to tackle and just cover what is happening in a way,
01:16not only of direct attacks from the United States against Iran, also from Israel against Iran,
01:21but from the media attacks that these populations and that the states are undergoing.
01:28And in that sense, right behind me right now is a panel that is exchanging these experiences,
01:34for example, from Brazil, from Argentina, from Mexico, different cooperative media outlets
01:42that have a different take on the popular perspectives, gathering the voices of the global south to think about international
01:51news from our own perspective.
01:54That sharing of ideas, of experiences is key and is one of the parts of the Patriarch Colloquium.
02:02This idea that we are all not alone, but very much together, and that when we understand that the attacks
02:09on the global south come from one same movement,
02:14then we can respond in unity and the results are so much impactful.
02:20So that is what is happening right now, acts of solidarity, of cooperation, of different ways of media,
02:26of coming together and, for example, producing from different countries at the same time.
02:32That is all happening right now from the Patriarch Colloquium.
02:35We will continue gathering more information, talking to more experiences,
02:39and also the delegates that have come at this very much crucial time.
02:43For now, I go back to you.
