00:00Hey, Dub Nation, let's get engaged.
00:02Before every game, we ask you to vote in our engaging Dub Nation poll
00:06on 95.7 The Game's Twitter page.
00:08It's brought to you by Shane Co., your friend and jeweler,
00:10where you find the Bay Area's best selection of unique engagement rings
00:13and their unmatched free lifetime warranty.
00:16Visit ShaneCo.com today.
00:19All right, after Wednesday's win over the Clippers,
00:21would you still be satisfied with the Warriors' season if they lose tonight?
00:27All right, vote now on Twitter, and we'll share the results later.
00:31And that perfectly leads to kind of what I want to say.
00:35And I don't know if Steini, you know, I was listening to them on the way in.
00:38I don't know if what he was actually saying was,
00:41boy, we're not maybe getting the sort of, like, ferocious engagement
00:45that I thought we would get today.
00:47Just so you all know, in our business,
00:49like it has nothing to do with how many are listening,
00:52but some days there's more, like, you can just feel it and see it.
00:56There's more activity going on.
00:58You know, there's more, there's texts flying in,
01:01and there's, like, yesterday, the phone calls,
01:03the board was full the entire show.
01:05Yeah.
01:05That doesn't always happen.
01:07And so maybe he was tapping into, like, it was a little lighter or something
01:11than he thought it would be in terms of the engagement and the reaction.
01:16And he was like, I think Warrior fans are tight.
01:19And I don't think it's that at all.
01:21I think what we've got here, and that word satisfied that we just used
01:27in the engaging Dubnation poll, to me, is the key word here.
01:31And I want to know if everybody did come out of Wednesday feeling satisfied.
01:39And if so, what does that mean for tonight?
01:43Because I view this week as the Warriors' soft launch of their new business.
01:48Their new business is the Steph and Kristaps show.
01:53And it stands to reason that for the first half of the year next year,
01:58that's probably going to be the central piece of their roster.
02:03And they have been saying for two months, you know, if everybody was healthy
02:08and we could get all that group together and get the G League guys off the floor,
02:13we could actually be a good team.
02:15And this was the soft launch to see if they were right.
02:19And so far, so good.
02:24But I got a warning for everybody.
02:26If you just are like, now we're satisfied.
02:29We saw it.
02:30It's good.
02:30Let's move on.
02:31And, hey, we might still end up in the lottery anyway.
02:35Well, I think the soft launch is already done.
02:37And the team, I'm sure the team has already seen what they need to see.
02:41It just comes down to money.
02:42And if Kristaps wants a ton and they can't pay it,
02:45or if he wants to stay because Rick Celebrini is the GOAT medical guy
02:49and you can make it work, he's going to stay.
02:51I don't know if fans are looking at tonight as the second piece of the soft launch.
02:56Maybe they are.
02:56I don't know.
02:57I don't necessarily look at it that way.
02:59I look at what Kristaps can be, and I put this out on Twitter after the game
03:03or actually during the game on Wednesday.
03:05I want Kristaps back, even if it means 50 games, 50 to 60.
03:10It won't be more than 60.
03:11It might be less than 50.
03:12I think 50 is about the number, but I want him back.
03:16And Jimmy will come back and Moses maybe,
03:19Stefan Draymond and whatever else is going to be here.
03:21I think that the soft launch, it's a good way to put it,
03:25Wednesday it was a success.
03:26The restaurant opening, the soft launch was a little shaky early
03:30and it didn't look like maybe it was going to work.
03:32And then all of a sudden, that last round of entrees came out
03:35and it was like, yeah, the food critics came in and the food was tip top.
03:40The service is on point.
03:42Everything was amazing.
03:43So I think that the soft launch has already confirmed
03:46that this can work and it might work next year.
03:49Here's why that worries me.
03:51I like, I think what you just said,
03:53that's exactly where a lot of people are and that's why it might feel like
03:58a lot of you are sitting on a couch tonight,
04:01but your back is up against the back pillow as opposed to being on the edge
04:06of your seat.
04:06I think it was that way Wednesday until like in the fourth quarter.
04:10But that was because of a lack of confidence.
04:12This is because of maybe a lack of fire.
04:15And here's why I still want to see more.
04:20I'm not 100% sure that Wednesday wasn't just a fourth quarter flurry.
04:25You said it yesterday.
04:26They were pretty bad for three quarters.
04:28They did not play well.
04:3017 turnovers and I mean, they were a little shaky.
04:33They were sloppy.
04:35There's no two ways about it.
04:36And in the first half, they did not shoot the ball well.
04:39There's no way around what I'm saying.
04:41What I'm saying is a fact in the fourth quarter,
04:43they got absolutely white hot from behind the three point line from
04:47everywhere.
04:48They were 15 for 20.
04:49Let's like that.
04:50And so they won.
04:52But you know what I mean?
04:53Like if I were broadcasting for the other team,
04:56you know how Fitz does this sometimes where he's like, well,
04:58what are you going to do?
04:59The other team's just on fire.
05:01Like if I were the Clipper broadcasters that night,
05:04that's probably what I would have said.
05:06The Clippers outplayed this team for three plus quarters and then they
05:10went bananas and they won the game and they deserve all the credit in the
05:15world for that.
05:16But are you,
05:18there's two things I want to say about this and that's one of them.
05:21One of them is,
05:22are you going to build your soft launch,
05:24your satisfaction with where the warrior franchise and roster sits based on
05:30the fact that for one quarter you couldn't miss and then poof,
05:34that's it.
05:35No.
05:35You know,
05:36I mean,
05:36Chris Stapps wasn't even really a part of that.
05:38He was good early.
05:40He was good early.
05:40And then Al was phenomenal late and Steph was great late.
05:43I think that the soft launch for me is just built on the premise of can
05:47Chris Stapps be a good player?
05:49Yes.
05:50Can Steph still do great things?
05:51Yeah.
05:52Can Draymond still be DPOI at times?
05:54Yeah.
05:54I mean,
05:55that's,
05:55that's enough for me to want to give it a shot again next year.
05:58This feels a little bit to me like Niners in Seattle where you go to
06:02Philly and you want a road game that you were an underdog in.
06:05And then you went to Seattle and it was not house money,
06:08but it was kind of like,
06:09you know what?
06:09And you and I said it,
06:10if they lose this game,
06:12what will our satisfaction be?
06:14It'll still be pretty high because man,
06:16all the injuries,
06:1712 and five and a road win.
06:19And this is a little bit like that.
06:21See,
06:22ah,
06:23I think that's a little,
06:24a little dangerous is the wrong word.
06:27It's not dangerous,
06:28but I think that that's a little,
06:29maybe prisoner of the moment ish.
06:33Um,
06:34I,
06:34I'm not disagreeing with you in terms of how people do feel.
06:38I think you're going to regret that feeling at 10 o'clock tonight.
06:42If they don't win.
06:43I really do.
06:45I mean,
06:45it's not really,
06:45it's not a feeling that I think is core to my being.
06:48I really think that they can win and I want them to win,
06:51but if they don't,
06:52I'll understand.
06:53Oh,
06:54sure.
06:54Like I did when the Niners went to Seattle and they got absolutely
06:56pummeled.
06:57I'm not saying that I'm going to go into a deep depression all weekend.
07:00If,
07:01if the Warriors lose this basketball game,
07:03but those of you who think that if the Warriors lose tonight,
07:07you at the end of it,
07:08you'll be like,
07:09all right,
07:10lottery,
07:11let's freaking go lottery.
07:13I think that's an empty,
07:15empty feeling.
07:16That's a one night stand versus a relationship and give me a relationship
07:21with Oklahoma city.
07:22And I think especially warrior fans,
07:25if you are not even in the playoffs at all,
07:29you're going to really,
07:32really miss it.
07:33Even if it's just four games,
07:36I think you're going to really,
07:38really miss it.
07:39And you right now you're like,
07:41eh,
07:41okay.
07:42See what for what?
07:43We're going to get our doors blown off.
07:45No 10 seeds ever want to play off game.
07:48Let alone a series.
07:49Winless the 10th seed in the playoffs.
07:51I think you're going to feel empty next week.
07:53You'll miss it.
07:54Absolutely.
07:54But I will understand it.
07:56And I was looking at the stats and we can get into this.
07:58Cause I sent all you guys a,
08:00a four act play.
08:02Look at the sons and the warriors so far this year.
08:04And it's a fascinating look at the four games they've played.
08:07Who's played,
08:08who hasn't played,
08:09who got ejected,
08:10who did this and who did that.
08:12There's one gigantic thing that no one's talking about that needs to get
08:16addressed.
08:16Okay.
08:17Let's get into it.
08:18Eight,
08:18eight,
08:18nine,
08:18five,
08:18seven,
08:19nine,
08:19five,
08:1970.
08:20We'd love to hear from you.
08:21Are you feeling satisfied?
08:23Is that,
08:23is that what today is?
08:25It's like,
08:26and I get,
08:27I think the warriors fed into it with the way they celebrated Wednesday,
08:30maybe to a degree.
08:31And everyone's like,
08:31okay,
08:31we did it.
