00:00Forget for a moment who you want the commanders to pick at number seven
00:05or who you think they will pick based on who you think may be available.
00:10And instead, based on what you know about Adam Peters,
00:14the experience we now have with the Peters front office, with the head coach,
00:19instead tell me who you think right now is the current number one player
00:25on their draft board.
00:26The person that they'd love to see fall to seven more than any other.
00:33That's different from who you want or who you think might be there
00:38and they'll end up taking.
00:39Who is their dream scenario number one player on their draft board?
00:46Max, who do you think it is?
00:48So we played the Jeremiah Love Highlight coming in, and I think it's him.
00:54If they want to add some, it depends on where they're looking.
00:57If they're looking on defense, I think that Sonny Stiles is probably the top prospect
01:01on their board that they feel like that they can get.
01:03But if you really want to add offense and offensive explosion,
01:07I do think that Jeremiah Love is the pick at seven.
01:10If he does last that long, if he's on the board, because think about it.
01:15People have mentioned it all the time in this draft cycle,
01:18but just pairing him up with Jaden offers so much more just dynamicness into the offense.
01:25And also with David Blau coming in, you don't really know what they're looking for
01:29or what style they're trying to play.
01:31Because with the Ben Sinnott pick, he feels like more of an H-back type guy
01:37or a fullback type player that I think could do a lot of good
01:41if he was back in the backfield lead blocking for a guy,
01:44especially like Jeremiah Love who kind of waits for the hole to open and then bam, he's gone.
01:49So I do think that Love is probably the top offensive guy on their board.
01:53Defensive-wise, it's probably Stiles just because, you know,
01:56athletic freaks and Ohio State is churning them out.
01:59So Sonny Stiles ranked first, not only among the linebackers in this draft
02:06in relative athletic score,
02:09but he is first out of 3,200 linebackers measured for relative athletic scores since 1987.
02:17He's 6'5", he's 244 pounds.
02:21He ran 4.45 in the 40.
02:24He's got a 43.5 vertical and an 11.2 broad jump.
02:30I'm not into all that stuff, but I know that Adam Peters is.
02:34This was a near-perfect RAS score, relative athletic score,
02:40something that has been emphasized by this front office
02:43since they started drafting players in 2024.
02:49Not only that, this guy's character, as we heard from Bobby Carpenter yesterday,
02:54and if you've read about Sonny Stiles, this guy is super bright.
02:59He is a leader, born leader.
03:02He is high character, high quality.
03:07It also fills a big need.
03:11I think Sonny Stiles is the number one player on their board,
03:15and they are praying that he drops to seven.
03:18Now, by the way, I'm not considering Fernando Mendoza, just FYI,
03:23as a player who might be the number one player on their board.
03:26I'm also not really considering Francis Malinoa, the tackle from Miami,
03:32because I don't see them picking a tackle at number seven.
03:37But they may be on the board somewhere, right, because if they were to drop
03:43and there was tremendous value, they'd have a feeling and a sense
03:48of what they could get back from somebody who wanted to trade into that spot.
03:52Not going to happen with Mendoza, for sure.
03:55I think Sonny Stiles is number one, and beyond that, I'll tell you,
04:00it would not surprise me if Bailey or Bain was number two.
04:05Bain seems like a Dan Quinn kind of guy, even though Matt Miller,
04:10I just told you, does not have a first-round grade on Reuben Bain.
04:14I know what Bailey is, I think, in terms of how he would be perceived.
04:20I don't think he's around at seven.
04:24But, yeah, they added pass rushers, but I still think that they would have
04:29David Bailey ranked very high.
04:31I also think that it's not out of the question that they would have
04:34Carnell Tate or Makai Lemon ranked very high, and maybe ahead of Love,
04:39all of those guys I mentioned.
04:43Stiles would be number one for me.
04:47So, again, the question is not who you want them to take at number seven,
04:51not who you think they'll take based on availability and mock drafts,
04:57but who right now do you think is the number one player on Washington's board?
05:05Let's start with my guy, Kevin Arlington.
05:08Kev, go ahead.
05:10Hey, Kevin.
05:12Now, you know, I think if it were Dan Quinn's choice,
05:15he'd want his Bobby Wagner replacement in Stiles.
05:19But looking at the total team and who are the superstars in this draft,
05:26you can't get past Love.
05:28Love, I know that you historically have been very shrewd about who you like
05:34coming out of college who can coat the rock in the backfield.
05:37And for some reason, Love isn't up there with Dijon Robinson and others for you.
05:41And that's okay.
05:42Maybe you're right.
05:43But let me tell you something.
05:47Dak became the quarterback he became because he had Zeke Elliott there.
05:51Jalen Hurst didn't really take off until he got Saquon Barkley.
05:54Our division has shown you need a dynamic duo in the backfield to win a lot of games.
06:00And I sure as hell don't want Love going up to New York with dark and hardball.
06:05I think they haven't done enough to help Jaden this offseason so far.
06:11This will help him.
06:12They don't want Jaden running the football as much as he was in the Kingsbury offense.
06:17They want a stud like Love who can take over games with his rushing attack.
06:21And I do see Sennett in the USAC role.
06:24I see him as a fullback in this office.
06:26I could be wrong.
06:27And I'd love it if it's Stiles.
06:29Okay?
06:29Don't get me wrong.
06:30I think Stiles is amazing.
06:31But what they need, in my opinion, and that's going to drive their decision because he's
06:37also a superstar athlete.
06:39They need love.
06:40And that's who they're going to get if he's there.
06:44Thanks, Kev, as always.
06:46Let me just say this.
06:48Quinn's not going to be the only one that's in love with Stiles.
06:50I mean, I just went through, like, he's number one all-time for off-ball linebackers in relative
06:58athletic score.
06:59You know that Adam Peters at that Indy Combine said, what?
07:036'5", 244?
07:05This guy is an absolute freak, and he's really smart, and he's a great locker room guy, and
07:13we have a major need at that position.
07:17I'd be shocked if the organization's front office isn't in love with Stiles.
07:23Now, whether or not he's number one on their board or not, I think he is, my guess would
07:29be he's number one on their board.
07:32But that would go beyond just a Dan Quinn or Durante Jones, you know, infatuation.
07:40I think that Stiles is a guy that probably many organizations love.
07:45I think the problem, of course, with Stiles in getting to Stiles is Harbaugh at 5.
07:50Let's go to TC.
07:52TC, go ahead.
07:53Who's the guy that you think is number one on their board right now?
07:59Yes, Kevin.
08:00Thanks for the call.
08:01Sure.
08:01Taking my call.
08:02I believe it's Jeremiah Love, and he is the reason why.
08:07Adam Peters come from the tree of the Shanahan's.
08:12Shanahan's in love with McCaffrey.
08:15Do all you, the running back can do everything.
08:18You see how they've been using McCaffrey ever since they got him.
08:22He's in love with that.
08:23So, therefore, I believe we are in love.
08:28He's number one on the board.
08:30He can take it to the house.
08:31He can do all that.
08:32Plus, you've got a better quarterback than what the 49ers have in our guy.
08:37So, that's going to alleviate some of the pressure off of him.
08:40You can't imagine, you can't imagine what's going to happen with this offense, with Daniels and Love back there.
08:49I love the Stiles, but Stiles is not going to bring it like Love and Daniels.
08:56It is no way.
08:57That is going to be interesting.
08:58I understand the vision of what the offense could be like with Jeremiah Love in it.
09:03And I also feel the same way you do, and Kevin does, and probably many others.
09:08I'd like to see Jaden get another dynamic weapon, because right now he's really only got one.
09:14But let me also remind you that Christian McCaffrey came via trade as a proven player.
09:21The 49ers under Kyle, and certainly the Broncos under his father, they don't draft running backs high, historically.
09:30They've never taken running backs high.
09:32All of their running backs have been found in the fourth round and later, third round and later.
09:38Tatum Bell might have been the highest picked.
09:40Yeah, go ahead.
09:41Let me interrupt you.
09:42That's correct.
09:43But you don't get a running back of this caliber that high.
09:48That's why they haven't drafted him high.
09:50When you see a running back of this caliber, you have to go for it.
09:54That's why I believe he is the number one on the board.
09:57He's a game changer.
09:59Styles is good, but Styles ain't no game changer.
10:02It's just that simple.
10:03This is a game changer.
10:04And you talk about your team overall point of view and what's going to happen.
10:09That is why he's number one on the list.
10:12If Styles is there, that's fine.
10:14You know, he might go to Tennessee and he's not there.
10:16So there, you might be short.
10:18Styles is there.
10:18The Giants take Styles.
10:20So you got to be flexible.
10:22But I believe Love is the number one guy on it because he is the game changer.
10:27And you need a game changer in this league.
10:30You know, you can find a Warner.
10:33Remember Warner?
10:34Wasn't the first round draft pick?
10:35Right.
10:36So you can find somebody like that.
10:37That's all right.
10:38Thanks for my call.
10:39No, thanks for the call.
10:40Appreciate it.
10:40Um, I'm just trying to check to see if, what, what, what draft was McCaffrey taken?
10:48McCaffrey was what?
10:49Eight overall.
10:50Was that the 2016 or 2017 draft?
10:55Yeah, so it's just, you know, 2017.
10:58Okay.
10:59Kyle's first year in San Francisco, right?
11:032017 is his first year in San Francisco.
11:05Pretty sure.
11:06Because they tried to trade for Kirk, remember?
11:09They had the number two pick to start.
11:11They flipped it with Chicago, who took Mitch Trubisky.
11:15And then the 49ers took Solomon Thomas at number three.
11:17But you know who was on the board for the 49ers at number three?
11:22Christian McCaffrey.
11:23They didn't take Christian McCaffrey in that draft.
11:26Who did, who did the 49ers have as a running back in 2017?
11:31Um, I'd have to look that up.
11:35I don't remember off the top of my head.
11:37The, the, the Shanahan's don't take running backs in, in the first round of the draft.
11:43This just never happened.
11:44I, I think that, you know, if Adam Peters believes that Jeremiah Love is Bijan Robinson or Christian McCaffrey, then
11:54the possibility exists.
11:55But if he doesn't, then, I mean, he made that comment the other day, you know, about, you can find
12:01him in the seventh round too, like we did last year.
12:03You know, speaking about, you know, Bill and Ja'Cory Krosky Merritt.
12:07So, I'm not sure that I'm bought into where you guys are, that they have Jeremiah Love that high.
12:17We'll find out.
12:19I mean, it's very possible that that's what's left at seven and the players that were higher on their board
12:26already got picked.
12:27But I think Stiles is the kind of guy, especially when you just consider everything, that if he's not number
12:36one on their board, he's very, very high.
12:39And I think ahead of Love, personally.
12:42I think that's what he's going to do.
