00:00Police are investigating the theft of a Superland banana sculpture from a garden in Runcorn.
00:06Cheshire Constabulary says the brightly coloured ornament, around two and a half feet tall
00:11and four feet long, was taken at around 11pm on the 29th March.
00:17The family say the sculpture has no monetary value but is highly sentimental to them and
00:22are appealing for its return.
00:24The Superland banana was created in 1998 by Japanese artist Taro Chiezo and later became
00:31a symbol of Liverpool.
00:33Dozens were displayed during the city's Capital of Culture celebrations, with some later selling
00:38for more than ÂŁ20,000.
00:41Police are urging any witnesses to contact them.
