00:01A floating art studio is setting off on a 150-mile journey across the West Midlands Canal Network.
00:08Slow Boat 2026, launched by Birmingham's Icon Gallery, will moor in Birmingham,
00:14the Black Country and Coventry, hosting workshops and creative projects for young people and local
00:20artists. Activities will include drawing, painting, sculpture, sound, film and digital media,
00:25alongside nature-based work shaped by each stop on the route. Icon says the programme explores
00:32heritage, place and shared creativity. Coordinator Lucy Grubb says it gives young voices space to be
00:38heard, experiment and grow through collaboration with communities across the region.
