00:05rarest books at a free event later this month. The library is hosting an evening with Audubon
00:11on the 30th of April, focusing on Birds of America, the celebrated work by naturalist
00:17John James Audubon. Organisers say the session will examine the book's history, conservation
00:23and the controversial legacy of its creator. Attendees will also be able to view a rarely
00:28seen second volume from the library's complete four-volume set. The collection remains on
00:34public display. Birds of America and Central Library's other rare collections can also be
00:39viewed at any time during regular library opening hours.
