00:00We got the draft a little over a week away.
00:03Miami Dolphins with a couple of picks.
00:06A lot of visits still going on.
00:08The Dolphins apparently had Markel Bellin for a local visit.
00:11He big, giant, moose.
00:14Really like the first day action this year.
00:16Two picks?
00:18Yeah.
00:18Busy.
00:20Busy.
00:22And the crazy thing is, you have so many needs.
00:27It could go anywhere.
00:30Yeah, it's so funny because this is like, I think outside, like everybody says, you know, Mendoza, Reese, probably going
00:39to be one, two, but like everybody after three, it's been, you got like the same group of players, you
00:45know, with, with, with Bailey and styles and Maui Noah and, and for no and all that.
00:52But like, you don't really have a pattern of where they're going.
00:55Obviously, Jeremiah loves probably going to go in the top 10 somewhere, maybe top five.
00:58So, so it really could shake a lot of stuff up.
01:02And the Dolphins are kind of just going to be here like a Pelican waiting for a fish.
01:06Question.
01:07If most people are saying that this draft is average, just with the talent coming out as a whole, next
01:19year's draft is going to be great.
01:22Would you be opposed to trading one of the first rounders and getting multiple picks next year if that draft
01:29is going to be better?
01:30If it's a draft, like if it's a thing that knocks your socks off, I'm not against anything.
01:35That's like a crazy, but I don't, you know, you're saying you're saying your doors are open for business.
01:41But yeah, there's nothing like, there's nothing I'm, uh, you know, I got my heart set on.
01:48Like there's not, you know, other than like Ruben Bain coming to the Dolphins.
01:51Other than that, there's really no player, you know, that you don't have a personal interest in, in the first
01:59round.
01:59Not so much that everybody says, oh, if we get this guy, it's a game changer.
02:06Like they're kind of, yeah, good players, first round grade, but there's not really anybody who besides, I mean, Mendoza
02:16and maybe Jordan Love.
02:19I think it's like one of those.
02:21Jeremiah Love, yeah.
02:23Jordan Love is the guy that just left.
02:26And even that, like, I would say like the things that would surprise me is the Dolphins taking Jeremiah Love
02:31because they have a Chan unless they're on a Chan.
02:34That would surprise me.
02:36Obviously using like 30 on Ty Simpson would surprise me.
02:39I would think that would be a little bit weird.
02:41Um, but even if they, like, if you told me there's so many interesting draft, uh, wide receiver prospects, like,
02:48I don't think their vibe is taking somebody at 11.
02:51That doesn't feel like it, but they are kind of in that window of, you know, of, of like Tater
02:59Lemon being there.
03:00They had Lemon in for a visit last week.
03:01Like, so would I be, I mean, would I be outraged if they took him because like, no, if they
03:06think he's that dude, then isn't he a slot guy though?
03:10I don't know.
03:11I know he's like a very like physical, like yards after catch type of guy, not necessarily like a burner.
03:16He's not like the biggest dude in the world, but he's not, he's, everybody says he's like St. Brown.
03:20Yeah.
03:21You know, but it wouldn't be a, my St. Brown is getting a lot of people paid because they just
03:27discarded his, his skill set.
03:30Right.
03:30Now they see somebody else with that skill set.
03:32Now they're like, oh, we got to have him.
03:34Oof.
03:35Yeah.
03:36Well, how many, that's the thing though, is like in this day and age, right?
03:40I mean, the, the yards passing are kind of going down a little bit.
03:44Like it is been more safe throws control, all controlled down the field.
03:49Like those unbelievable burners, it's not like they're extinct, but it's not like it even was four years ago.
03:56I think with, with defenses basically playing to say, keep everything in front of you and don't give up a
04:04big play.
04:06Like, you either have to design the offense that fools the defense, or you have to be able to throw
04:11the ball underneath.
04:12And, and that's the thing that's, that was Tua's gift is that he threw the ball where a lot of
04:21quarterbacks weren't, weren't afraid, were afraid to throw it.
04:25And that's in the middle of the field with accuracy and stuff like that.
04:29So that's kind of what made him appealing.
04:31Um, there's not a lot of quarterbacks that are willing to take those chances in the middle of the field.
04:38So what teams are doing is dropping back, dropping deep, not letting you throw it over the top and daring
04:45you to make those tough passes in the middle of the field.
04:48SDI says, if everyone says the draft isn't great, it means the draft is great.
04:53No, it doesn't.
04:56No, it doesn't.
04:58I mean, I'm talking about a draft like 83 when Marino was the last quarterback take and then he was
05:04considered.
05:05I mean, that's, that's what makes the draft not sexy this year.
05:07There's no quarterbacks like that's, that's, you think so?
05:10There's no, that's always, that's always the thing that like gets everybody round up.
05:15That's what people get crazy over.
05:16And that's what causes movement because people want the fifth year option on guys, you know?
05:19And, and the problem is, is that if it's not a quarterback, is there any guy in the draft that
05:30you go, oh, he's an impact guy.
05:33He's going to change how we do things, you know, like, again, forget the local ties because I believe Bain
05:40is that guy.
05:42Okay.
05:43Okay.
05:43Yep.
05:43But if there's not a bunch of quarterbacks, are we looking at anybody in the draft that you immediately say
05:54game changer?
05:57Like, I can't.
05:59Yeah.
05:59I mean, I think if they get, like, if they got Marino, I think it's a game changer for this,
06:02for this offensive line.
06:03No, but, but, but, but now we know we'll change how the Dolphins do things, but I mean an overall
06:14game changer, right?
06:17Harbaugh would disagree.
06:19He calls them weapons.
06:20He says they're weapons.
06:22Oh my goodness.
06:23What, dude?
06:23That's your teammate, not mine.
06:25Oh my goodness.
06:26Don't get mad at me.
06:27We'll take a break.
06:29Steven Strom from Marlins Radio.
06:30He's going to join us.
