00:00We like it when a team has its best slugger hitting lead off just as,
00:06and, and that seems to be what the Cubs are doing right now. So yeah.
00:10How do you feel about that philosophy of the best guy who's leading the team
00:14in slugging percentage also being the lead off hitter?
00:18Yeah. I'm not sure if that's where things will be in the middle of the season,
00:21but we'll see. I'm just going to be myself and go from there.
00:27Actually, you've fallen behind Ian Happ now. Ian Happ is leading the team in slugging,
00:30but I'm at, I'm at peace with that.
00:34But are you enjoying being in the lead off spot every day? And we also,
00:38we obviously don't know if it's going to, it's going to last all season,
00:40but are you enjoying being there against lefties and righties alike?
00:44Yeah. I mean, it's a cool responsibility. I think, you know, the first at bats,
00:47I think the only one that really feels different than the rest and kind of try to
00:50treat it the same, but it does feel a little different when you start the game.
00:54I think one thing that's a big part of it is just the opportunity for a fifth at
00:58bat that shows up a lot. That's a really big difference.
01:00So that's an exciting opportunity and just a cool responsibility in general.
01:05Yeah. That's the thing these days, right? Is that it's the fifth at bat.
01:08And it's also the stamp from the manager and everybody in the org that like,
01:11we want you getting the most at bats. That's kind of cool.
01:14Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. It's a vote of confidence in that way. And, you know,
01:18there's not even a conversation when I'm put there or things like that,
01:20I think, which is cool just in that it's empowering me to just be myself and
01:25do that over and over again and trust that it'll work out.
