NAYA, 25, first met Zac, 38, when they worked at a grocery store together. "I noticed her right away," Zac said. "It wasn't for at least a year before I started making some moves. It did actually organically just turn into a relationship. We then cemented it to be official." They've now been together for five years in total, and married for a year and a half. The couple has a two year old son, and they decided as a family that Naya would be a stay-at-home mom. This dynamic has garnered a lot of online negativity because they are in a mixed-race relationship. Naya explained the source of the controversy, "Racists don't like that I'm a stay-at-home wife with a white husband." She continued, "What do people assume when they see a black woman being a housewife? I mean, easily, you could just say slavery. They immediately go to the worst thing you can think of. Some examples of doubts that others have raised is that Zac is just using me and he's going to take advantage of me." Comments include, "Another self-hating black woman with a clown", "This is concerning", and "Trump people see all kinds of problems with this."

00:00Racists don't like that I'm a stay-at-home wife with a white husband.
00:04Another boss slave.
00:06At least he's gonna come back with the milk.
00:08So, yeah, call her a bed-and-and I'm her master.
00:12Y'all are gonna be swinging from the tree.
00:15Another self-hating black woman with a flound.
00:19You married an ape, you married a monkey.
00:21There was definitely disappointment in my family that I didn't end it with a black guy.
00:25Today, my brother is coming over.
00:27He wasn't happy about my relationship with Zach.
00:29I was just perplexed.
00:32I'm Zach. This is my wife, Naya.
00:34People judge our relationship because they think he's a white man that is controlling me.
00:38I am 25 years old.
00:41I'm 38.
00:41Zach and I first met at work.
00:44We were both working in a grocery store.
00:46I noticed her right away.
00:48It wasn't for at least a year before I started making some moves.
00:52It did actually organically just turn into a relationship.
00:55Like just, we then cemented it to be official.
00:58We've been together for five years now, in total, and then married for the last year and a half.
01:03We decided Naya would just be a stay-at-home mom that was making enough money to the point where
01:08she didn't have to work and just be with our son during the day.
01:12The type of videos that we post on TikTok and other platforms as well is just like, more so, sometimes
01:21we do funny content and then sometimes we do trolling content in terms of we take comments that we see
01:27and we kind of like dig at it a bit and it's kind of like a get back.
01:33Trump people see all kinds of problems with this.
01:36Imagine some of them do.
01:38Another self-hating black woman with a f***ing clown.
01:42That's just unnecessary.
01:44This is concerning.
01:47For who?
01:48You anonymous person online?
01:50Like, whatever.
01:52Another bonk slave.
01:55Yeah, I bought her a wedding ring.
01:57That's what I bought her.
01:59Y'all are going to be swinging from the tree.
02:01See, stuff like that is where it's like, this is where I really want to know who this person is
02:06and possibly contact law enforcement because I take that as a straight-up threat for real violence because that is
02:13an insane thing to say.
02:14The worst reactions and comments I've gotten directed towards me is I'm a f***er in some way.
02:21I was only 20 when we got together.
02:24Mom, you know when you were in middle school, he was a grown man, right?
02:28I mean, that's true.
02:29I mean, way to do simple math.
02:32The real sickos out there target our son with horrible racist comments.
02:38Black mixed with anything is just black.
02:41By American standards, that's true.
02:44So that's why we're raising our son, to know all about the black side of the family and know about
02:50black culture.
02:50You see white folk in the comments.
02:53You see black folk in the comments like, oh, at least he's going to come back with the milk.
02:58You know, stuff like that because it's this thing that's like, oh, in the black community, the dad wants to
03:02go get the milk and never came back.
03:04People completely try to take my identity.
03:08You know, they're telling me I'm not a black woman.
03:10They're saying, oh, you married an ape, you married a monkey, you know, stuff like that.
03:15All types of like really ignorant things.
03:18You married that man for a green car.
03:19And so it's like, it blows my mind because I felt like I had to prove that I was an
03:25American woman, born and raised to these people on the internet.
03:29It is what it is.
03:31I know my background.
03:32I know where I come from.
03:33And this is my home.
03:35So.
03:36The judgment online is usually sometimes it's just so over the top, like hateful.
03:42It's almost kind of comical.
03:43You wrote this really long paragraph just was filled with just awfulness.
03:49But I will say the flip side of it, it's like 99 percent of nothing but love from people out
03:53there.
03:54And so that's very appreciated because we do see that stuff, too.
03:56Love has no color.
03:58Totally.
03:59Yeah, man, you love who you love.
04:01You know, don't matter.
04:02I need to find a husband like yours.
04:05Beautiful couple.
04:06Damn, you're a gorgeous couple.
04:09Unconditional true love.
04:11Oh, thanks.
04:13I agree.
04:14What do people assume when they see a black woman being a housewife?
04:20I mean, easily, you could just say slavery, you know, like they see my husband's wife.
04:26They see that I work in my home, like I'm taking care of our home.
04:29And they immediately go to the worst thing you can think of, a house slave, you know.
04:33And I've been called that a couple of times.
04:35Some examples of doubts that others have raised is that Zach, he's just using me and, you know, like he's
04:43going to take advantage of me.
04:45Anyone who's met us kind of will know right away that Nea runs this relationship, you know.
04:50I'm just, I'm the backup quarterback, as it were.
04:53She runs the show.
04:54There was definitely disappointment in my family that I didn't end up with a black guy.
04:59My family were like, what are you doing with this older white man?
05:04You know, it was one time I received a lot of texts from a family member and they thought I
05:11got kidnapped because I spent one night at Zach's place.
05:16And I was like, this is crazy.
05:18With our age gap, bringing this up to my family, the concern was that my husband, he's trying to take
05:26advantage of me.
05:27So they were like, couldn't find nobody his own age.
05:30Today, my brother is coming over to discuss how he really felt about our relationship.
05:35He wasn't happy about my relationship with Zach.
05:38I thought it was weird I was dating someone 14 years older.
05:40I really don't know exactly like what he's going to say.
05:44When Shania first told me about Zach, let me just say, it was a confusing conversation, to say the least.
05:50I was a little shocked, first off.
05:52Big age gap.
05:53And also, white ginger man.
05:58I was just taken aback by it.
06:02So Katelyn, what are some of the concerns that he had about our relationship when I first brought it to
06:08your attention?
06:09The obvious, the age gap.
06:11You know, I just never really came across, you know, an age gap like that before.
06:16And, you know, I think, you know, you're still like in college at the time.
06:21And I was worried.
06:22Did you question why Zach would be interested in a 20-year-old?
06:26Yeah, I definitely did.
06:29At this time where I just, again, just had never really come across an age gap relationship like that before.
06:36I was, like I said, I had a lot of questions.
06:38Yeah, I was just a little perplexed, I guess.
06:43How do you think your view of Zach has changed over time?
06:47Well, I mean, I went from skeptical to being, like, just ecstatic that Zach's, he's great.
06:59He's great for my sister, you know.
07:01He's a good man.
07:02He takes care of her.
07:03He takes care of, you know, their little boy.
07:07And he's a real friend to our family.
07:09And I feel comfortable around him.
07:12You know, I can see what Shania likes about him.
07:14He's there to support you, you know.
07:15He's your rock.
07:16You build each other up.
07:17That's so sweet.
07:19That's really nice.
07:21No problem, no problem.
07:24What I love most about Nea is she's loving to me, to our son.
07:30And just a loving person and beautiful inside and out.
07:35Just got such a good heart.
07:36She's given me purpose in life as a husband now and then a father to our son.
07:41I would say the thing that I love most about Zach is just how he's never left a space for
07:48me to doubt anything in a relationship.
07:50He's always there for me.
07:52He supports anything that I put my mind to.
07:54So I just say, Zach, he's honestly like, you're a package deal.
07:58What I would say to folks who judge our relationship negatively is, you know, take a long look in
08:04the mirror and think about your own life before you're judging on other people's happiness.
08:08I'll be right back to this.
08:11I'll be right back to this.
