02:14So last week, we learned how you all work as a group.
02:16Now, we're going to learn how you work
02:18in your individual teams.
02:21You'll be working on your very first interior space
02:24in your lake house,
02:25the primary bedroom and bathroom.
02:28So this is a big one.
02:30Guests aren't just coming here to sleep.
02:32They want to retreat.
02:33This space should pack comfort, style,
02:36and smart functionality.
02:37You've got just one week to complete
02:39both the primary bedroom and bathroom.
02:42We'll be judging you, as always,
02:43on your creativity, your use of space,
02:45and the quality of the work you deliver.

03:17So we want to make them feel like they got the best bedroom.

03:22I love interior design.
03:24And most of the houses that I design for short-term rentals.
03:27This view is way too good to waste.

03:31Absolutely what I was thinking.
03:32Let's open it up.
03:34Swap this window for a full-length sliding glass door.
03:37I'm thinking a neutral lime wash on the walls.
03:40Then we'll add a wood-paneled feature wall
03:42that wraps up into a cladded ceiling
03:45and the king-size canopy bed
03:47and then primary bathroom.
03:49I want to draw in that same calm vibe from the bedroom,
03:53but add a total pop of personality.
03:56A blue-tinted lime wash on the walls.
03:59And I would love a feature tile moment in the shower
04:02using different shapes and sizes
04:03and a single vanity for storage.

04:22Well, I'm trying to keep it, like, under wraps

04:28I'm actually just excited to share with Scott
04:31and see if I can surprise him on anything.

04:41This is our first solo challenge, and we're ready.
04:44Primary bedroom, I want it to make an impact.
04:46So, I really want to embody the East Coast relaxation.
04:50Let's do a statement wall with some neutral wallpaper.
04:53Then, for maximum cottage vibes,
04:55I'm wanting to mirror the floor
04:57with wooden beams on the ceiling
04:58and maybe a beautiful, romantic canopy bed.
05:02In the bathroom, let's do some neutral cream paneling
05:05on the walls and a checkered tile in the shower.
05:07Then, I'm taking a single vanity
05:09with brass hardware throughout to create some elegance.
05:12The primary bedroom is going to feel
05:14like a beautiful oasis the second you walk in.
05:16Let's start measuring.
05:23This is a big one right out of the gate.
05:25The primary?
05:26That's the most important room of the house.
05:27No pressure.
05:29I want to focus on, like, the beach feel.
05:31Like, where, at the end of the day,
05:33they come and...

05:35Relax and look at that water out there.
05:38Let's start with a neutral color palette.
05:40We'll clad the ceiling with wood and add white beams,
05:43and then I'm envisioning a custom headboard.
05:45Ground the space with a large area rug,
05:48add a king bed,
05:49and we'll accessorize with neutral, sandy colors.
05:52What if I knock it up a notch?

05:55Let me do a wave feature wall.
05:57So, bring in the waves from outside, inside.
06:00I could do it with, like, MDF
06:02and backlit with LED, padded headboard,
06:06integrate it in that way.

06:10For the primary bathroom,
06:12I'm thinking floor-to-ceiling tile.

06:25that will match our vanity

06:57to clad it with two tones of Japanese Tsuji Van.

07:02And then, in the primary bathroom,

07:06in a cloudy wallpaper.

07:20is my Japanese background.
07:23When I decided to take myself to Japan,
07:27I discovered a different way of living.
07:30It was a culture shock
07:31that polarized my idea
07:34of what life was supposed to be.
07:36And when I got home,
07:38I quit my job
07:39and signed up for some classes
07:42for interior design.
07:43It was the best decision
07:45I could have made for myself.
07:46I'm very excited to see what this looks like.

21:48because that means something in the design
21:50is going to have to change.
21:51What better way to shake things up
21:54than to add a little color to your design palette?
21:57So, each team must incorporate
21:58one very bold color
22:01into their primary bedroom or bathroom.
22:03But, of course,
22:04we couldn't just hand you a color.
22:06Where's the fun in that?
22:07There's no fun in that.
22:08So, Brian and I made a shuffleboard of colors.
22:11So, here's how it's going to work.
22:12One member of your team
22:13is going to slide a disc down the shuffleboard
22:16to the color that you would like.
22:17The color that you land in
22:19is the color that you will get to work
22:21into your design plan.
22:22And we will pass you the paint can to go with it.
22:25You can use this paint
22:26or find other creative ways
22:28to bring the color into the space.
22:29But, if another team slides a disc after you
22:33and knocks your disc off of your color,
22:36wherever it lands next,
22:37that's your new color.
22:38We have chosen the random order
22:41in which you will play.
