00:00Prime Minister Kamala Passat-Bissessa has concluded from the documentation released by CARICOM Chairman Dr. Terence Drew
00:06that the entity spent a considerable amount of time on the special shirt that was to be made for each
00:12head.
00:12But she further suggests that there wasn't the same vigor in treating with the reappointment of Dr. Carla Barnett.
00:19Passat-Bissessa says, quote,
00:21Between January 19th and February 26th, 39 days, eight messages were sent to TNT regarding the soon-to-be legendary
00:30CARICOM shirt,
00:31but zero messages were sent regarding any agenda item to reappoint GS Barnett.
00:37Clearly, the shirt was of utmost significance and importance, but the reappointment of the GS of CARICOM was not, end
00:44quote.
00:45She further calls on Dr. Barnett and Chef du Cabernet Janice Miller to respond to the communication issued on the
00:52morning of the retreat,
00:53indicating to foreign ministers that Prime Minister Drew would like the heads meeting to be heads only.
00:59The Prime Minister states that the WhatsApp message was verified by the director of CARICOM.
01:04Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Minister Sean Sobers has called on CARICOM to release various documents pertaining to the retreat,
01:11and Passat-Bissessa is endorsing it.
01:13She says, quote,
01:35Passat-Bissessa has also responded to the CARICOM chairman's call for these issues to be ventilated internally
01:40to avoid eroding the deepening of the integration process and other work undertaken through erroneous statements.
01:48Well, she says that progress is being diminished by the continued vision to transparency
01:53regarding what she calls the surreptitious, corrupted, and flawed process used to reappoint Dr. Barnett.
01:59She accuses CARICOM of deliberately attempting to avoid accountability
02:03and instead willfully and publicly smearing Minister Sobers.
02:07The Prime Minister states that those actions will be met by continued public responses from her and her government.
