00:00It's the second week of heightened frustration for PTSC passengers, amid ongoing cancellations and delays.
00:08As at 3 p.m. today, TV6 counted over 75 cancellations across various routes in Trinidad and Tobago, as per
00:18updates provided on PTSC's WhatsApp channel.
00:21A quick visit to the transport hub confirmed the state of affairs.
00:26Passengers awaiting the 1 o'clock Harima bus were particularly disgruntled after being informed that the bus would be arriving
00:34at 2 p.m.
00:36Every day, every day the same thing. They are waiting a long, long period of time and when you're down,
00:44they come and tell you, 2 o'clock, bus coming.
00:47Sometimes the 9 o'clock will come, the 10 o'clock will come. So you say, okay, wait for the
00:5212 o'clock. No bus.
00:55Every day, I have to pick up my grandchild every day for a certain time. So I just come, 2
01:00o'clock, I have to pick him up and I just come here all after 12. No bus.
01:05The elderly lady says this has been the state of affairs for quite some time and at this point, she
01:12believes it may be a manufactured situation.
01:36Interestingly enough, she was not the only one who shared that view.
01:39I always say this is my mantra. Maxi drivers are bus drivers and bus drivers are maxi drivers because on
01:46the chat, I think it's Monday gone, yes.
01:49They had no 12, no 1, no 2, no 3, quarter to 5. They're calling maxis to take passengers by
02:00subsidizing with a ticket. High-class nonsense.
02:03Look right at this present time, no 1 o'clock bus. And this has been going on for months now,
02:08the 1 o'clock.
02:10They used to have a half-pass to that done with. And I'm telling you nothing. PTSD need a transformation.
02:16In fact, one man tells TV6 News, he has information that some PTSD execs also own maxi taxis.
02:25And he's of the opinion that this is the reason why the east-west bus route is always unreliable.
02:33They have four and five maxis working on the bus route. So on a daily basis, every day, the pressure,
02:40the judgment, Arima Hub.
02:44The Public Transport Service Corporation has indicated that the delays at the Port of Spain Harbour due to industrial action,
02:52which include employees refusing to operate assigned services, the shutting down of certain areas,
02:59and to go slow actions on the part of workers.
