00:00Like the fuck you put Christmas?
00:02And now, entering the red corner,
00:06the World Champion of Zapopan Jalisco, Mexico,
00:12Rafael El Divino Espinosa!
00:30Before Rafael Espinosa won his title in a classic against Robesi Ramirez,
00:47he was being described as little-known.
00:51How a six-foot-one featherweight with dimensions of a cruiserweight
00:55and punch output of a minimum weight
00:58escape the view of the broader industry is the actual mystery.
01:03But nowadays, the secret is out when it comes to Divino.
01:07Espinosa has made three title defenses thus far all by knockout
01:12and has become the target of a host of big names in his weight class.
01:16Tonight, he looks to make it four in a row
01:20as the man who was recently just a mystery
01:24becomes one of Mexican boxing's true household names.

06:03Y aquí está el referente, Miguel Canur.
06:03Sir, Maltese.
06:12¿Qué dice?
06:15Aquí está.
06:16Uno de ellos.
06:17¿Vale?
06:17¿Vale?
06:17¿Vale?
06:18¿Vale?
06:18¿Vale?
06:19¿Vale?
06:20¿Vale?
06:21¿Vale?
06:22¿Vale?
06:23¿Vale?
06:24¿Vale?
06:25¿Vale?
06:26¿Vale?
06:27¿Vale?
06:28OK, guys, remember what I told you in the locker rooms, please make a good clean fight
06:33and make it the best of the night.
06:35Touch gloves, go to the corner, we hear the bell, throw the best punches.
06:43And we take a look at the tail of the tape for our main event, and you won't see measurables
06:49that are more different than the ones you're seeing on your screen right now.
06:55Two men who could not be built any differently physically, but are nearly identical internally
07:02in terms of how they want to fight, how they seek to win fights.
07:07This is a made-for-TV main event between the number one rated ring magazine featherweight
07:14and a man in Arnold Hagai who has been waiting his whole life for this opportunity.
07:19Yeah, even to see Hagai spend 30 seconds on the perimeter of the ring sort of cuts against
07:24the profile of this fight that you would have set.
07:27The thing, if you are Team Espinosa to be concerned about, is that Espinosa, for a
07:34guy as tall as he is, does get hit with a fair number of right hands, whether against
07:39a southpaw or an orthodox fighter, like Robesio Ramirez dropped him with the right hook.
07:43And that is Arnold Hagai's punch, and he will throw it over the top whenever he gets the
07:49chance.
07:51Yeah, to your point, Morgan, Espinosa is someone who can get hit when he gets hit, as tends
07:59to happen with ultra-tall fighters.
08:01It's very eye-catching.
08:02Yes.
08:03He gets hit hard, but generally speaking, he's throwing at about a 6-to-1 rate compared to
08:11his opponent, and that will be one of the challenges, Morgan, for Hagai in this fight, particularly
08:16with that Muay Thai background.
08:19It's benefited him in that he has a comfort level with absorbing punches.
08:24He has a comfort level with contact like this.
08:27But can you allow a voluminous puncher and a hard puncher like Espinosa to get off with
08:33that kind of regularity?
08:34Yeah, and Muay Thai is different in that, yeah, you block a lot of the punches because you can't
08:38move your head that much because if you move your head too much, you get kicked.
08:41Now, if this was Muay Thai, he would just hit Espinosa right across that lead thigh with
08:48a leg kick, but Muay Thai, in boxing, you can't do that.
08:52So he's kind of stuck.
08:54And to your point, if your defense is predicated on taking contact, there's that right hand over
09:01the top.
09:01It's a lot harder to do against a guy like Espinosa who, when he feels like it, cranks
09:06up the volume, but also punches with authority.
09:11Body work there from Espinosa, and that's something he's able to do despite that height.
09:16Because of the length, he can reach and land those body shots from a safe distance.
09:20Back comes Hagai with a left hand to the body of his own.
09:23Yeah, and I guess everyone that fights Espinosa sort of has the same theory.
09:31This tall, skinny guy, if I can get inside on him and hit him in the body, I can make
09:35something happen.
09:37But the theory and the reality often are two different things.
09:42Yeah, and the reality is that he's waiting for those moments too.
09:44Espinosa is one of those tall fighters who loves being on the inside.
09:48As fighters at a high level have found out, it could be like fighting an octopus on the
09:56inside.
09:56I was going to say more like fighting a praying mantis.
09:58Yeah.
09:59A slower paced round by Espinosa and Hagai standards.
10:03We expect things to heat up even more.
10:05We expect things to heat up even more.
10:35And I guess every big fight in Mexico, you have to either play that song on the stereo or
10:57you get a band to play El Rey.
11:00It's like Sweet Caroline.
11:02I imagine it's fight music.
11:04Soundtrack for what has already been and will continue to be an exciting main event here
11:16between Espinosa and Hagai as Hagai lands a right hand to the body.
11:20You see Espinosa trying to keep Hagai at a distance and that's one of the ways he can use his length.
11:37But you also see him sort of like Sebastian Fundora getting inside.
11:41And one of the ways that you can also use, you see a really tall fighter use their length is to get inside and just get leverage on their punches.
11:49Because these long levers, you can get tremendous power at the end of them from close range.
11:55So you will see him do that too.
11:59Three good left hooks to the body from Espinosa in the last 20 seconds or so.
12:04Now a right hand scrapes through the guard of Hagai.
12:08Hagai tries to stab his way to the body of Espinosa and try and get some work done on the inside.
12:14You can see a deep breath from Hagai after he absorbed that uppercut from Espinosa.
12:18And right there you see the dilemma for Hagai.
12:20Again, a guy with a kickboxing background is not used to moving his head
12:24in ways that the short muscle-bound guys usually have to move their heads to get inside on the tall guy.
12:29So he's there at the end of the jab, trying to figure out ways to get inside.
12:40Hagai trying to leap in with that left hook.
12:42And one of his hallmarks, when you go back and you watch the Fulton fight or the Joette Gonzalez fight
12:48or better nights even for Hagai, his hallmark has been intensity.
12:54It's not necessarily overwhelming punch volume.
12:57You pointed out earlier in the broadcast, primarily Hagai is a big one-punch kind of guy in succession.
13:05But there's an intensity about his approach that has been dampened a little bit already
13:10just by the volume and the length of Espinosa.
13:14And the other problem if you're fighting Espinosa and you are a one-big-punch-at-a-time guy like Hagai
13:23is that Espinosa has very good timing.
13:26And if you loop a punch, he will throw something right in between.
13:30Something that you won't see coming.
13:33Nice body shot there from Espinosa.
13:36It's a heavy jab that Espinosa is throwing here tonight.
13:41Sets up uppercuts just like that.
13:45Uppercut comes so fast considering the length of the arms of Espinosa.
13:50Nice pot shot right hand as the seconds dwindle in the round and we head back to the corners.
13:59Westандive bass, tim Melissa, because if you keep going forward with this,
14:10he keep pushing you.
14:11He uses his head to push you.
14:12But when you do this, you go over her hand,
14:16then you can catch back a man right in front with this.
14:18You have to use your feet.
14:21Because if you keep going forward with this,
14:23he keep pushing you.
14:24He uses his jab to push you.
14:26But when you do this, you go overhand,
14:29then you can catch him.
14:30Go to the body and get out again.
14:32All right?
14:33If he's too close, you smother him.
14:36It's OK, but you smother him.
14:38Because if you give him distance, he throw uppercut.
14:41Understand?
14:42You should.
14:43Yeah, don't get frustrated, all right?
14:45Remember what you want, OK?
14:48You have to do it.
14:59Solid advice there from Marvin Simodio
15:01in the corner of Arnold Hagai, who was also flanked
15:04by Charlie Edwards, who's kind of a bit of a player-coach
15:08kind of role here for Arnold Hagai, who's in camp
15:11to help with a little bit of speed work as well.
15:13Also is in the corner of Hagai.
15:18Round three is underway, and Espinosa's still pumping that jab
15:26that the Hagai corner was trying to advise him around, work through.
15:31And touching him with the uppercut that they said to look out for.
15:36So it's one thing to give someone some advice that, again, in theory,
15:40that should work against Espinosa's something else entirely to implement that game plan.
15:49There's that uppercut again.
15:51Already the face of a guy starting to swell a little bit.
15:57Guy trying to come over the top of the right hand.
16:00The punch they were asking for, and again, you watch Espinosa fight, that punch is there.
16:07It's just a matter of how often is it there and how much damage do you take
16:10in between your opportunities to land that punch.
16:14And can you capitalize on it?
16:16Because we saw, of course, Espinosa in his defining fight, that first win over Obesi Ramirez,
16:22dropped hard, dropped so hard that he broke his ankle, and then fought another seven rounds
16:29with that broken ankle.
16:37Espinosa, before that fight, wrote a note to himself, a letter to himself.
16:43He left in the locker room that said, you're going to be world champion by the end of the day.
16:49And again, I think what's easy to forget is the Rafael Espinosa who headed into that fight
16:56is not the Rafael Espinosa we see now.
17:00Maybe in terms of skill set, but just in terms of his profile,
17:03he was a guy that we didn't quite know what that record meant, what he was made of.
17:08And the general feeling around that fight is that Obesi Ramirez was going to take this big, tall guy
17:15and chop him up, take him apart, dismantle him.
17:17And it didn't happen that way, but we have since learned that that was not a fluke against Obesi Ramirez
17:22as a guy lands that right hand over the top.
17:26A guy really having to arc these shots, but they're getting there.
17:29Nice left hook.
17:31That right hand just missed.
17:35What a boost of confidence here for Arnold Agai.
17:40And he's doing right there what Marvin Samudio said.
17:43If you get all the way inside, it's okay to time up, it's okay to smother him, that's fine.
17:50Low, low, low.
17:55Okay, back on your feet, back on your feet.
17:59Espinosa trying to fire back with that right hand.
18:01And at that really close range, stuff like that, Corey, is where a guy in that Muay Thai background is an advantage.
18:10Because in boxing, the referee comes and breaks you up for the most part when there's a clinch.
18:13In Muay Thai, the clinch is where things get started.
18:16And to the extent that the referee is going to let them wrestle, that's where a guy can get stuff done.
18:20I think a guy has found exactly where he needs to be in this fight.
18:27Like a hand around the board.
18:29That's what we need to do.
18:30That's what we need to do.
18:34We have to counter the pass.
18:37When you throw, don't do it for the pass.
18:38Correct them.
18:39Don't do it too much.
18:41From there, just throw.
18:42You catch him from the pass.
18:44Then after, when the referee says break, you have to back with this.
18:48Because when he catches this pass, he throws combinations.
18:52You don't have to do that.
18:53You don't have to do that.
18:54You don't have to do that.
18:55You don't have to do that right.
18:56You don't have to do that.
18:57Let's go!
19:04Let's go!
19:05Let's go!
19:06Let's go!
19:09Go on!
19:10What?
19:11Go on!
19:12Go on!
19:13Round four underway.
19:14Rafael Espinosa putting his WBO featherweight title on the line here tonight against Arnold Agui.
19:22Big fights potentially on the horizon.
19:26On the horizon for Espinosa.
19:31It's been a conversation for fights against names like Angelo Leo, Luis Alberto Lopez, Bruce Carrington, Nick Ball, which would be an incredible match of body types.
19:43A visual, yes.
19:44A visual, yes.
19:45It's a dynamic weight neighborhood, right?
19:48Steven Fulton, he's between there and 130.
19:52Inoue, eyeing moving up in a few fights from now.
19:56Junto Nakatani has talked about potentially facing Espinosa.
20:01All kinds of fights are possible.
20:05And every single one of them profiles as an action fight.
20:09They are possible because somehow this man, who looks like this, has not sought the relief of another four pounds to move up to 130.
20:20Well, as we were saying, Corey, big right hand over the top there from a guy in another one.
20:24And again.
20:25Big left hook as well.
20:26Espinosa, for all his height, all his length, he is hittable.
20:34In every fight we've seen him in, someone has clipped him off it with that overhand right, like that right there.
20:40It's just that for the most part, he's able to take it.
20:43Viking, Viking.
20:44But to finish the point, Corey, he started out as a minimum weight.
20:49So even this right here, this might be, uh, this might be, um, protein binge Rafael Espinosa we're looking at.
21:00Four uppercuts there from Espinosa and then a body shot.
21:03You see the faucet in the nose of Arnold the guy just started to turn on.
21:10And these uppercuts, they are not stopping.
21:21This counter shot over the top there from a guy.
21:24No, no, no.
21:25I think a guy has found what can work for him in this fight.
21:29Yes.
21:30And again, everyone who fights Rafael Espinosa understands that overhand right can land.
21:37But often, this is the price.
21:42These uppercuts, these left hooks, this is the price you pay.
21:45Yeah, it's a numbers game that you're playing against Espinosa.
21:51A guy did land a couple big shots.
21:53He landed one right there.
21:55But he's also been busted open.
21:57By a symphony of uppercuts here.
22:02And the chants of Divino are now starting here at San Luis Potosi.
22:07Look at that blood, Corey.
22:08And the face of Arnold the guy is an absolute mess.
22:11And the face of Arnold the guy is an absolute mess.
22:15No punches.
22:16Okay.
22:17Okay.
22:18Okay?
22:20Yeah, yeah.
22:21Okay, okay, okay.
22:22This is okay.
22:23Just clear.
22:24Isn't that okay?
22:25Yeah.
22:26Yeah, yeah.
22:28It's okay.
22:29Just clear, man.
22:30It's okay.
22:31Arnold, remember.
22:32Okay.
22:33Okay?
22:34Yeah, yeah.
22:35Okay.
22:36Okay.
22:37This is...
22:38Yeah, yeah.
22:39It's okay.
22:40Just fear, but it's okay.
22:41Arnold, remember, we cannot lean forward because the upper class is here.
22:46Your defense is this.
22:47This best defense is this.
22:49Then we can counter.
22:50Because if you're here, when you counter, no power.
22:54So you have to step back and then give room to yourself, okay?
22:58Vamos, salimos, salimos.
23:02Well, Morgan, the nose is one problem for Arnold Agui, but look at his left eye.
23:06Yep.
23:07There is a cut that is waiting to open up right above the eyelid.
23:11And Rafael Espinoza comes right out firing those same uppercuts that were busting Agui up in the latter half of round four.
23:19Yes, and that straight right hand right on the eyebrow.
23:21Because if we can see the cut, Espinoza can see the cuts.
23:25There's an uppercut from Agui.
23:32Tries to step in with that one.
23:34And Espinoza immediately fires one right back.
23:38That shot right there, that's so difficult.
23:57Yes.
23:58For a fighter of Agui's stature to defend against.
24:02If Espinoza, yeah, if he, but if Espinoza leaves that lead hand out there for even a half second, how do you get out of the way of that shot?
24:12Right.
24:13And Agui has not found that answer quite yet.
24:15And frankly, all of Espinoza, Espinoza's opponents have not found that answer.
24:21Yeah, and because, like, he can throw that uppercut from long range.
24:27And because he's so long, he is protected.
24:29Whereas most people, when they throw an uppercut from long range, they get punished for it.
24:33Yeah, you're Buster Douglas.
24:34Yes.
24:39That's a counter shot there from the guy.
24:41Agui.
24:43Not enough to deter Espinoza.
24:45Keeps firing away to the body.
24:46Yes, and this is what so many of Espinoza's opponents find.
24:50They can touch him.
24:52Just not quite often enough.
24:54Oh, no, no, no.
24:55Especially in the face of his offense.
25:01Blood smeared across the face of Agui.
25:05Looks like swelling is starting to intensify under that left eye,
25:10the cut has developed as well.
25:18And this is a pattern that we've seen in Espinoza fights.
25:23Where all of a sudden, you look up, you're five, six rounds in,
25:26and his opponent looks like he's gone about 15 rounds.
25:29Yes.
25:33And again, that's the volume and that's the leverage.
25:36And it's this effortless delivery that Espinoza has where you think to yourself,
25:41hey, maybe he's not doing a lot.
25:43That is not the reality.
25:45Yeah, and that's also what allows him to sustain his power and his output in the fights.
25:52He gets a lot of power out of not a lot of effort.
25:54He's starting to see the blood smear onto his gold gloves.
26:01And that'll do it for the round.
26:07I'll have to consult with Sherwood Williams as to what color gold and red combine to create.
26:14You might find out by the end of the night.
26:16By the end of the night.
26:46Good, all open.
26:47Ramrod O'Chlock, I want to split it up.
26:51Back to action here in our main event.
26:53Back to action here in our main event.
27:12And if who's getting off the stool faster
27:15is any indication of anything,
27:17it is a good sign for Rafael Espinoza
27:20who was standing and waiting
27:21to get right back on top of Arnold Hagai
27:24and look at that right hand
27:26snapping his head back right there.
27:28And the microphone in his corner
27:31for the last two and a half seconds
27:34of that break between rounds.
27:35You can hear his coach telling him
27:36finish with the hook.
27:37So we'll see if he does it.
27:44Big right hand over the top there from Hagai.
27:46Again, there's that right hand.
27:48It is there.
27:48Everyone he's fought has hit him with the right hand.
27:52Orthodox or Southpaw.
27:54The problem again is that those big shots
27:57just seem to trigger Espinoza
27:59to fire his own combinations.
28:02And it's a matter of getting,
28:04hurting him and getting him to stay hurt.
28:06Because again, Ramirez dropped him
28:08with the right hook
28:08and he popped up,
28:10broken ankle and all.
28:11He finished the fight.
28:12Mind of dropping Ramirez.
28:15See, you can hit him,
28:16you can hurt him,
28:17but he is extremely resilient.
28:19But there is always that question of
28:22will there be the time
28:24that one of these shots
28:25is the one that takes him out?
28:28And you think back to
28:29another ultra-tall
28:31Yes.
28:32You've read my mind.
28:34Are you thinking about Paul Williams?
28:35Absolutely.
28:35Thinking about Paul Williams.
28:37It can happen.
28:38He took those punches.
28:39He took that overhand left all night
28:40against Arislandi Lara.
28:42And then a couple fights later
28:44he took it against,
28:44he couldn't take it against
28:45Sergio Martinez.
28:47Barabisha, exactly.
28:49Stop, stop.
29:02It's that volume
29:03of four and five punch combinations.
29:04Yeah, four or five uppercuts
29:08right there.
29:09About three of them landed.
29:13But Hagai has decided
29:14like he's still willing,
29:15if that is the price
29:16he's still willing to pay.
29:17Stop, stop, stop.
29:19To try to clip.
29:19One.
29:20Yeah, yeah.
29:21One.
29:22I just coin a point, okay?
29:24Bucks.
29:25Stern warning there
29:26for Hagai
29:26for shots behind the head.
29:32And that's going to make things
29:33tough for Hagai
29:34because his best way
29:34to land that right hand
29:35is to loop it like that.
29:37That one landed flush.
29:38Yes, but he has such
29:39little margin for error now.
29:41Stop, stop.
29:42Espinosa pivots
29:43when that punch is on the way.
29:44Hagai's a punch.
29:48Looks like that eye
29:49of Hagai
29:50is now leaking as well.
29:52A little teardrop of blood.
29:56Now dripping down
29:58the left side of the face
29:59of Arnold Hagai.
30:04And Espinosa
30:08holding that left hand
30:11in the air.
30:12Yeah, he's acting like
30:13he feels like he is in control.
30:16And I don't disagree with him.
30:17Listen, you are empty
30:28to fight.
30:29Fight clean, okay?
30:31Yeah.
30:32Round seven.
30:33Arnold, you're doing good
30:34when you move your head
30:35and step back.
30:36Yeah.
30:36Because when he does
30:37touch you,
30:39the judges will give him
30:41the points
30:41even if he touches
30:42on the glove.
30:43So you have to
30:44give his head movement
30:45and with the overhand right,
30:47he put this down.
30:48So a little bit shorter
30:49right here.
30:50You're in for his shoulder
30:51here because he goes
30:52down here.
30:53Understand?
30:54Set, bam.
30:55And you have to use
30:56your feet, all right?
30:56Salimos, salimos.
30:57Okay, let's go.
30:58All right.
31:03Well, the Arnold Hagai corner,
31:05again, giving him good advice,
31:06doing what they can
31:07to try to deal
31:08with the punishment
31:09that he's taken,
31:10but it is mounting
31:12and mounting quickly.
31:13Yes.
31:16And that's, you know,
31:18another of the ways
31:19that Espinoza can get you.
31:20He can, uh...
31:21And there's Hagai.
31:24Again, landing it
31:25just often enough
31:26to give himself hope.
31:27But eating a body shot
31:28at the same time.
31:29And Espinoza is capable
31:36of hitting the home run
31:38like he did
31:38against Sergio Chirino.
31:40He just stepped inside
31:41that looping right hand
31:42and ripped that
31:43left lead hand uppercut.
31:46But most often
31:47it's like this, Corey.
31:48It's attrition.
31:50Got your heads there.
31:54First time,
31:54that's what really happened
31:55in this fight.
31:56So no penalty.
31:57Of course, we remember
31:58the warning that
32:00a guy was issued
32:02for a shot behind the head.
32:05That punch we were
32:06talking about,
32:06Espinoza just threw it.
32:09Tried to throw that
32:10tight lead hand uppercut
32:12inside that guy's right hand.
32:21Stop.
32:27The toughness
32:31and the self-belief
32:32of Arnold the guy
32:33keeping him in this fight
32:34as the heads come together
32:35once again.
32:43Oh, boy.
32:44That just made the eyes
32:45significantly worse.
32:47And do we know, Corey,
32:51whether that cut
32:51was caused initially
32:52by a punch
32:53or a clash of heads?
32:56I mean,
32:56I think if it were
32:57worsened by it,
32:58like if this incident
33:00were to cause
33:00the stoppage,
33:01I think we would be
33:03in a position
33:03where we go to the scorecards.
33:04That will not matter
33:05at least right now.
33:06We're back to action.
33:14The troubles continue
33:15to mount here
33:16for Arnold the guy
33:17as the uppercuts
33:21and the combinations
33:23just do not stop coming
33:25from Rafael Espinoza.
33:32Right hand and a left hook
33:33do connect there
33:34from a guy.
33:35I was going to say,
33:36that's exactly
33:36what the guy wants.
33:37But, again,
33:39what he absorbs
33:40in exchange.
33:43This is death
33:44by a thousand cuts
33:45courtesy of Rafael Espinoza.
33:50More pertinently,
33:51about four cuts
33:52on the face
33:53of Arnold the guy
33:54whose legs
33:55might be betraying him.
33:58That's new.
33:59That's the first time
34:00we've seen him
34:01in this fight
34:01stumble.
34:02Right there for you.
34:03Big right hand.
34:06And Rafael Espinoza
34:07is on fire
34:09here in the seventh round.
34:13Fight me, fight me.
34:14Dovino just teeing off
34:21right now.
34:22A guy trying to muscle
34:28his way out of trouble.
34:32But his face
34:33is an absolute disaster.
34:35about 20 seconds
34:40to go in that round
34:40for you.
34:42Dovino unleashed
34:43a home run
34:44of a right hand
34:44and only the thickness
34:45of her guy's neck
34:47and shoulders
34:48that big shock
34:49of the same.
34:49So right now
34:55they're telling him
34:55finish to the body.
34:56They're telling Espinoza.
35:01A lot of curse words
35:02in there too
35:03that I can't quite
35:03translate.
35:04So the one hand
35:29you had the one coach
35:30early in the round
35:31trying to hype him up
35:31and then toward
35:32the second half
35:33of that break
35:33the thumb
35:34calm down.
35:35Don't expose yourself
35:36too much.
35:36Keep your distance.
35:39Round eight begins
35:40and Arnold the guy
35:42barely stepped
35:43a quarter of the way
35:44across the ring.
35:46Rafael Espinoza
35:47on top of him
35:48immediately.
35:54Wrist tape
35:55of Arnold the guy
35:56has turned pink.
35:57Look at the face
36:08of a guy
36:09as these jabs
36:09just keep on coming.
36:12Yeah.
36:12It's like running
36:13into a wood chipper.
36:20And he's also getting
36:21swelling in different
36:22regions of his face.
36:23left eye of a guy
36:47nearly completely
36:48closed right now.
36:49Morgan this is
37:00obviously a very
37:00boxing intelligent
37:02audience that we
37:03have here in Mexico.
37:04They know what
37:04they're looking at.
37:06No doubt
37:06they would be excited
37:09if Espinoza were
37:10to finish this fight.
37:11Yes.
37:12But there's also
37:12kind of a
37:13hush of discomfort
37:15in the audience
37:16right now
37:17as they're watching
37:18a guy
37:19just get
37:19absolutely battered.
37:22Yeah.
37:22And it's
37:22Oh my goodness
37:26what a left hook
37:27there
37:28from Espinoza
37:29the guy
37:30froze in place
37:32bit down
37:33on his mouthpiece
37:34and came back
37:36for more
37:36like that uppercut.
37:39Yeah.
37:39There's that
37:40half ball uppercut
37:41and a guy
37:43yes he is getting
37:44battered
37:44but he's landing
37:45just often enough
37:46it's in one of
37:47these situations
37:47where the referee
37:48might say
37:49show me something
37:50and a guy
37:51shows you something
37:51every 30 or 45 seconds
37:53but at the same time
37:55he is so far gone
37:57in this fight
37:57and taking so much
37:59punishment
37:59yes it's
38:00it's
38:00we're in limbo
38:01here because
38:02he's too tough
38:03to go down
38:04from one punch
38:05too tough
38:07to
38:07stop throwing
38:09back
38:10but he's taking
38:13an absolute beating
38:14this is punishment
38:15chance of Divino
38:21now
38:22after a guy
38:25lands a couple
38:26of shots
38:26maybe the crowd
38:27feels okay
38:28with cheering
38:30once again
38:30as a guy
38:34is just
38:35leaking blood
38:36as he sits
38:37back down
38:37on his stool
38:38he's also having
38:38trouble walking
38:39strength
38:39but he gets the points
38:52because you stand
38:53in front of him
38:54we can win on points
38:55if you just keep
38:56moving and countering
38:57round nine coming up
38:58round nine you have
38:59three rounds left
39:00you understand you have
39:02three rounds left
39:03what round is this
39:04is this
39:14oh here
39:14right
39:14here
39:15here
39:15here
39:15here
39:15here
39:16here
39:17here
39:17We're going to win the last couple rounds.
39:45Emotional moments in the Hagai corner there, and Marvin Simodio telling Arnold Hagai what he probably knows, that there may not be another chance like this.
40:10Telling him he's going to give him one round to show him something or he'll stop the fight.
40:15Yes, and the advice from Espinosa's corner was this, keep doing what you're doing, throw fast punches from long distance.
40:25Keep it at distance, throw fast punches, keep doing what you're doing.
40:29As you're seeing right there, there is no route to the inside for Hagai unless Espinosa allows it.
40:44And if Hagai can't hurt Espinosa with one of these big, looping right hands, what other deterrent is there?
40:53None.
40:54To stop Espinosa from just firing away from a range where he can land, but Hagai can't touch him.
41:01And that's exactly what we're seeing.
41:04Now you're seeing Hagai sort of belatedly take a backward step, being forced to take backward steps.
41:13Another uppercut comes in there from Espinosa.
41:15And honestly, I think Hagai realizes too.
41:21His coach said, I'm going to give you one more round.
41:24So Hagai is giving him one more round, but he knows he's not going to win.
41:30Hagai himself is too proud to quit.
41:34And he's moving like a guy who is trying to survive, trying to survive this round.
41:38So his coach can say, you've done everything you can, let's call it a night.
41:43Yeah, and when you hear that from your coach, it's creating urgency, but it's also the first time that you've heard in your preparation for this fight and throughout the fight,
41:56you've heard your coach doubt whether you can win the fight.
42:00Yes, there's also a difference between your coach saying that and the referee saying that.
42:03Yes, because your coach's best case scenario, your coach is still giving you technical and tactical advice to win the fight.
42:13And the referee comes by and says, I'm going to give you one more round because you're taking the beating or I'm going to give you one more round because you're bleeding.
42:19Something different.
42:20Yes, when your coach says, I'm going to give you one more round because I can see you're getting you're getting tattooed here.
42:29Now, 30 seconds here of round nine.
42:31I would say a slightly better round for Hagai just in terms of the amount of punishment he took in this round.
42:49Yes.
42:49But this is still a frightful beating that he's absorbing here.
42:55And it might be the worst case scenario because it might be.
42:58Oh, what a right hand there from Espinosa.
43:03And maybe that will change the mind of Hagai's corner.
43:07We're going to catch him.
43:22We still get a chance, you know, because you still have power.
43:26If you maintain that, he'll get frustrated.
43:28He's going to keep going after you and we catch him.
43:30Time to touch and go.
43:32Not just one punch.
43:34Just one punch, he covers.
43:35Right?
43:36Bam, bam.
43:37Or Sergei.
43:38All right.
43:39Round 10 coming up.
43:40Round 10.
43:41Right?
43:43See?
43:44You have stamina.
43:46Nice.
43:47And top 10.
43:48Oh, oh, oh.
43:49Yeah, yeah.
43:49Sometimes.
43:50All right.
43:51Now, you are in better shape.
43:53So stay loose.
43:54Use your feet.
43:55Every combination to get out.
43:56All right?
43:57Listen.
43:57Listen to me.
43:58All right?
43:58Time.
43:58Time.
43:59Time.
43:59So the Hagai corner has decided to go for it.
44:07They feel there is still a possibility of landing that home run shot.
44:13And, again, as we've talked about, Hagai does land those big shots.
44:18Yes.
44:19They just have not produced any kind of a reaction that would make you believe that an actual knockout is possible.
44:28Yes.
44:28Again, going back to what we were talking about, there is always that one time when that changes.
44:33And maybe it's a kind of shot like that.
44:36Espinosa takes, again, enough of those shots to make you feel you're in the fight.
44:40Enough of those shots to make Marvin Samudio think something is possible.
44:44But at the same time, you know, Hagai has to decide.
44:50He probably already has decided who he's going to believe, whether it's his experience or what his coach is telling him.
44:54Because Marvin Samudio is saying he's going to get frustrated.
44:58But we're ten rounds into this fight.
44:59Espinosa has not gotten frustrated yet.
45:01Nothing about his body language says frustration.
45:04He's just settled into this pattern.
45:06He's doing what his coaches are telling him.
45:08Fighting at his distance, not taking any chances.
45:10That's not frustration.
45:13Nice right hand to the body there from Espinosa.
45:16Right, and every time a guy takes one of those punches, he understands that Espinosa's not frustrated.
45:23The Espinosa's just operating.
45:35That swelling on the left eye for you is starting to turn into one of those big, boldest bruises.
45:42Yeah, it's, I assume that's going to be a very hideous situation for a guy in about 30 minutes.
45:49Yes.
45:50Stop, stop.
45:52Yeah, it's, it's, it's, this is, uh, Holyfield versus Hasim Rahman territory.
46:01That, that, that, that, that.
46:02You're going on in the tournament on since the opening day, but somehow, you don't find another gear.
46:07But also, under different circumstances, if a guy wasn't destroyed and wasn't still in touch,
46:13and there should be more of these fights where, if, uh, a guy that's winning, if he just throws 15 punches away, he'll get a stoppage.
46:21If a guy that's fighting back, a guy that's doing, he's taking his punches.
46:26Look at the audit of order, a guy that's officially determined as an Earth-Alias versus Earth-Alias-Badana.
46:32And then, uh, a guy that's, uh, a guy that's gonna be in the corner of Rafael Espinosa tonight.
46:44So, the sender to Napa, because he's worked with us while I was in the many many others.
46:51So, uh, I'm gonna read my hand on the top of the, of the guy, but then immediately responded to that Rafael Espinosa,
47:00He's got... just part of his shoes and died in the water.
47:03I understand.
47:05Officer needed to try to find smoke, but if that part hasn't...
47:09Look, Espinosa, up until now, he's not going to hurt him.
47:12After work, Espinosa's standing between rounds, he's very comfortable.
47:21I'm worried.
47:22I'm worried.
47:23I'm worried.
47:24I'm worried.
47:25I'm worried.
47:26I'm worried.
47:27I'm worried.
47:28I'm worried.
47:29Okay.
47:30I think we should start back here, I thought.
47:36I have a last question.
47:37If you're completely asked, you can get the Captain Morgan more than going on.
47:41I think this will officially leave God for just a moment.
47:48Espinosa seemed to go up before anyone else didn't concede.
47:52Did the Captain Morgan lose?
47:54But I think, instead...
47:56There's so much an animal in front of you, and what is that?
48:00If you look at that for you, you've got a little help for the first one.
48:04No, this, this, bubble, simple, science,
48:11I'm going to show you a little higher at this.
48:14This is what I say, though.
48:16I'm going to have to ask you guys,
48:19I'm still going to take away that time.
48:22Because the end of the bubble is a long time coming.
48:28Again, I can see why the guys kind of thought they kept seeing him as a whole,
48:34because he was fast, because if he was dominant as he is,
48:37he's still a little bit vulnerable, because he just had cast off him up,
48:40he just made the most white hands, but the offense,
48:44they could be, I'm not with the guys anymore.
48:48Divine intervention to beat DeVito is that kind of condition down the stretch.
48:53Yeah, and I think the question now becomes,
48:57what type of fighter and what type of fight is it going to take to beat him?
49:04Take a look back at some of the replays.
49:06That, and for how long can he absorb those shots?
49:09That is the thing.
49:11So there is a way to beat him, but it's a question of,
49:15can you hit him with that right hand, hit him often enough with that right hand,
49:18hard enough with that right hand,
49:20to make him think twice about the thing that he knows he wants to do to you.
49:24Well, I mean, that's the intrigue of, as he knows it moving forward.
49:33Number one, every fight is going to be entertaining.
49:36Number two, you have those glimmers of hope.
49:39Yeah, there is that question.
49:49Is this going to be a long reigning champion?
49:54Or will this just be an extraordinary period of time
49:58where he's a near unbeatable physical proposition whose hourglass will run out?
50:03Yeah.
50:05And I guess it depends on who he winds up fighting next,
50:09but like a pure power puncher could maybe give him problems.
50:14Maybe not knock him out one time, but again,
50:16as long as you hit him hard enough to make him think twice about doing the rest of what he does well,
50:20it could change sort of the calculus of the fight.
50:26Chance of Divino resume,
50:28and it looks like we are about ready to make this one official.
50:33OOP,
50:35CHILDREN TOOCY
50:36To make this one official,
50:37to make sure it's going to be a better.
50:41Thanks, guys.
50:43And this is my friend.
50:44You're talking about who I am.
50:46Okay,
50:47here is.
50:48Thank you,
51:01Take a look back at how this one ended
51:15And Corey honestly
51:19Again, Hagai is too proud to quit on his stool
51:24I sort of wish his corner had been less proud on his behalf
51:28Because the last two, two and a half rounds of this fight
51:34We didn't need to see, we had seen all we needed to see
51:38And yes, he was landing those right hands
51:41But again, it was not, none of this was affecting Espinosa
51:45But Hagai was showing more and more damage
51:51Round by round, almost minute by minute
51:53It's the kind of fight, I talk about this all the time
51:59That makes me miss the old amateur computerized scoring days
52:03And you get a 20 point lead
52:05And if they stop the fight, they say RSC outclassed
52:08Right
52:08Because this is what we had here tonight
52:10Referee stops, contest, outclassed
52:12And there's no disrespect to Hagai
52:20That is just, you know, what he had to deal with in Rafael
52:24Yeah, it's a near physical impossibility
52:27For someone with Hagai's dimensions
