00:23Hi there.
00:26Joe.
00:31Yes, pleased to get a draw out of the game
00:33because it looked as if it wasn't going to be the case.
00:37Tough place to come.
00:38Taking a point from here is not the worst result.
00:40Obviously, we'd like to get three,
00:42but we had to take the point after they get that second goal.
00:46That was it.
00:47How much did that early goal set us back?
00:50It did set us back because I think it took us a wee while to recover.
00:53I didn't think we started the first half particularly well or the second half.
00:56But the goal took us a wee while to get back into it, really.
01:00I think it really rocked us.
01:03So, you know, the second goal, their second goal,
01:06it really would, nothing we could do, it took the deflection.
01:09And you think that the save Keller made from something very similar
01:11where there was a deflection and he saves it with his trailing foot.
01:15So it was really tight, tight in some aspects,
01:19but I've got to say, you know, they put us under a bit of pressure as well.
01:22There's a feature of Bopar, so that you side-shocked them as you,
01:25and it's a kind of come back from there and set back some years.
01:28Yeah, we've got a bit of maturity about us,
01:31and I think away from home we've shown that in some of the games.
01:35We had to today.
01:36You know, again, it was, Brentford's not an easy place to come and get a result.
01:41And we had to show a bit of resilience and stick at it
01:44and believe that there might have been a chance.
01:46So I thought the boys who came on had an impact as well for us.
01:49So that was positive.
01:51Tyreek George had a few good crosses and post-calorie,
01:54if you could say, do you know what you saw?
01:56Yeah, I was pleased, yeah.
01:57Yeah, I've liked Tyreek.
02:00And, you know, we'll try and get him the minutes and opportunities when we can.
02:06Paddy.
02:07What do you make Tyreek's loan so far?
02:10And what do you imagine that you like earlier this game?
02:13What in particular has impressed you about him?
02:15His ability to, you know, he's got good control.
02:19He wants to score.
02:21I like that.
02:22You saw that today.
02:23You know, he wants to try and score.
02:25And that was important for me because I think wide players nowadays,
02:29we're asking them, we rely a lot on LA and Jai.
02:33I'm sure Brentford lie a lot on Shade and, you know,
02:37they're wide players as well.
02:38So I think being wide players now,
02:40you've got to have a contribution with goals and assists.
02:42So he's a young boy who will obviously continue to develop.
02:46I've got no doubt about that.
02:51Speaking of your attacking players,
02:53Kieran used to be hard.
02:55Seven goals and four assists throughout the season.
02:58And most importantly, he had 10 defensive contributions.
03:00What have you thought about his performances in this game?
03:03Kieran's been so good for us.
03:05You know, there's actually, even from last season,
03:08there's not many changes,
03:09but Kieran's come in and helped us greatly.
03:11His goals have been hugely important.
03:14And when I was signing him from Chelsea,
03:17when I was speaking with him, he did say to me,
03:18he says, look, I'll score goals if I'm played in the right way.
03:23He scored us the goals.
03:24He's contributed to the performances.
03:27So we've been really impressed with Kieran,
03:30and we really have been.
03:31And also, again, coming back from behind twice,
03:36what does it say about the character of the squad that you have?
03:42It says loads and loads about what they're like.
03:45They're really good lads trying to fight for every opportunity they can.
03:51They're, you know, we don't like, we don't want to go behind.
03:54And sometimes when you're fighting, sometimes you can open up
03:57and you'll end up going two down or different things.
04:00But we stuck at it.
04:01We didn't concede again.
04:02It gave us an opportunity to get back in the game.
04:06So away from home, we've done a really good job away from home in the main,
04:11probably with our points, which we've picked up on the road.
04:13So we've got three more times we've got to come to London.
04:16So we'll need to find ways of picking up more points
04:19when we come down here in the future.
04:21All the best.
04:23Paul, hi there.
04:25Hi there, how are you doing?
04:25Great.
04:26Good.
04:26I could just ask very quickly about James Coleman.
04:29I saw your comments yesterday.
04:30Can we assume from what you said that we had the conversations
04:35that this is probably James' last season as a player?
04:40No, I don't want to say that exactly
04:42because I've not had the conversations.
04:45The shame is obviously mad keen to keep playing and doing the right things.
04:49I think it's injuries probably, which has just made it really difficult for Shumas
04:52and I think he would admit to that as well.
04:54So it's a bit too early to really go in any depth to it.
04:58But as I said the other day, I said he's an incredible ambassador for Everton Football Club
05:04and has been through difficult times.
05:06And I've got no doubt he'll be looked after the best we possibly can.
05:10And, you know, there's one thing that happens is you just can't keep playing forever.
05:14There's lots of legends at clubs who, you know,
05:17sometimes you have to say that's fine.
05:20I think Seamus' biggest problem really is his injuries,
05:22which it's been difficult for him.
05:24So he's back at the moment, he's fit.
05:27And we need him because he's great around the dressing room
05:30and he's great around the club.
05:32I'm sorry, just if he was to be a coach with you next season,
05:39does he have that kind of coaching?
05:41Well, I mean, it's a question, it's stuff for the other day really.
05:45But Seamus has got, he's actually not mad on the coaching at the moment.
05:49Now that might change, you know, sometimes when you're a player you don't really.
05:53But he's got contributions.
05:55So, you know, I certainly believe that he'll be able to be a big part of Everton going forward
06:01and in a role try and find something which we think will suit his character, his personality.
06:06Even if it was involving being around the younger players at the club,
06:10you know, near enough to keep standards high
06:13because he's someone who demands high standards from all the senior players,
06:17whether it be on the pitch or off the pitch.
06:20He's someone who has done a brilliant job for the club over recent seasons, especially.
06:25One other quick question.
06:28Keith Andrews must be a kind of contender for, along with yourself,
06:33most hastened about to be on the shortlist for manager of the season.
06:38I'm sure you haven't given a single moment's talk to that.
06:42No, but I think Keith Andrews has done a really, really good job.
06:47He's come into a club which is pretty well set and organised and planned,
06:52which is also a great help for him.
06:55He's not coming into a chaotic football club.
06:59He's come in where he knows how things work
07:01and probably there's lots of things already in place which he has to follow.
07:07But I think for a young manager to follow Thomas Frank,
07:09who's done an incredible job here,
07:12and he's kept the standards up, as you can see.
07:15And today Brentford were seventh, we were eighth, getting into the game.
07:20So he's done a good job.
07:22So we'll see.
07:23I'm sure that he will certainly be a name which will be getting mentioned.
07:27A lot will depend on maybe how everybody's going to finish
07:29in the coming five or six weeks.
07:32But up until now, he's done a brilliant job.
07:36You mentioned you had a slow start to both halves and then really grew into the game.
07:42You've got six massive games left this season.
07:44How do you make sure that you don't replicate those slow starts in the future?
07:49Well, we've started very well in other games.
07:53So we don't go and do our work to start slowly, if you know what I mean.
07:57We planned to start quickly.
07:59As I said, we actually started for the first 15, 20 seconds okay.
08:03We started putting them under pressure.
08:04But I think it was a goal kick and they run through and score directly off it.
08:09So from that point of view, you don't really know what you can do.
08:13You plan, you work on it.
08:15So it sets you back.
08:17But the bigger thing was we didn't allow ourselves to go under with it.
08:20We stuck at it.
08:21The resilience of the boys, we've got senior players who know.
08:26We've got a really experienced goalkeeper and centre-backs.
08:30So we needed them to keep at it.
08:33They made it difficult for us, Bournemouth.
08:36Bournemouth?
08:37Brentford, where are we getting that from?
08:40So they made it difficult for us, Brentford.
08:42But they make it difficult for most teams coming here.
08:44And it was no different for us.
08:47And look, we worked our way back into it.
08:49And, you know, in some ways I felt as if because of the style of their second goal,
08:54I felt as if ours was, we weren't worthy at that point in the end.
08:58Okay, folks.
08:59Cheers.
09:03Cheers.
