00:00You've experienced a lot of things in football over the years, but still this game can do things that provoke responses from you, like that you've liked.
00:25Didn't know where to look or run or cheer or talk us through that emotion at the end.
00:30I've just said there, I hope you're not going to call me Pleaty going forward, you know what I mean?
00:35A lot of them in here are too young probably to remember it, that's the problem.
00:40The difference is that David Pleat doesn't get booked for it, does he?
00:45They think it's okay and everybody enjoys seeing the celebrations.
00:48We're killing it that the managers can't come out of their technical area to celebrate a goal,
00:53knee-slide and do things which all gave you people probably quite a bit to talk about.
01:00It's strange that it's the first thing you've asked me, you've not talked about the game, you've talked about me celebrating on the pitch.
01:06I think it summed up the emotion and the ending of a crazy ending to a game. What did you make of it?
01:15It was a bit of a crazy ending because it didn't look as if we were going to get the equizer.
01:20I don't think it was, I think it was in some ways deserved, in many ways we had enough.
01:26Ciaran Dewsbury Hall has a chance to put us one up.
01:28They missed a big chance in the first half as well but we had a huge chance in the second half to go one up and they didn't.
01:34Tarki is one headed off the line or kicked off the line and then Jared Branthwaite also had an attempt.
01:40So we were threatening to get closer to it but it looked as if it wasn't going to go in our favour really.
01:47That was the way it was. We hadn't had to deal with too much.
01:52We had quite a few corners to deal with but in the main I thought most of the other stuff we dealt with quite well.
01:57A few changes to the back of all centre backs across the defence. Was that more in force with Miklenko's injury or was that more of a tactical boy because of who you were playing?
02:09I've always had it in my mind that it would be there. Pep does it as well doesn't he?
02:13He's thought about it at different times. It was different for us, it was an injury which caused us to make the change.
02:19It wasn't the plan on Friday afternoon. Miklenko just picked up an injury in training which altered everything really.
02:29Much improved in the second half, what did you say to them at the Brighton?
02:33I thought you would be better saying Brighton were very good for the opening 25 minutes.
02:37They were much quicker, nearly picked up every ball, any duels, they were better than us for certainly that period.
02:45I thought we had a period of getting a little bit back into it, we gained a bit of ground and a bit of possession and had a couple of moments but nothing, nothing of note.
02:55But I never thought coming here was going to be an easy game. I think probably the people who do Brighton are too.
03:01I think it's only Aston Villa and ourselves have probably won here in a year, something like that.
03:06I don't know if there's any other teams done it.
03:08So for us to come here and get a draw today in what is a really tight Premier League, scoring it in the last minute against a team who are close to us was a big point.
03:16You've seen so much development and progression from Tiena Barry and he's had all the applause for it in recent weeks.
03:21But how big a moment do you know is for Beto and how pleased are you for him?
03:24I think the reaction from the crowd probably tells you. I think that everybody's been desperate for Beto to do well and he continues to work, work like a beast every day to try and improve himself, to try and make himself better.
03:39And sometimes in life, the harder you work, the luckier you get and he did.
03:45I think that's five starts in a row now for Harrison Arms run. Can we read anything into that in terms of your decision?
03:49I can't read anything into it just now.
03:52Paddy?
03:53Just on Harrison, what's he done at this young age?
03:58The biggest thing I could say is I don't think he looks out of place in the arenas, whatever he's been in.
04:03I think he's shown that his future will be in the Premier League.
04:08There's obviously some really well known teenagers who are playing in the Premier League, but there's not that many.
04:18So I think now to get teenagers playing and getting them minutes is really important.
04:23So we had to play them in a position which is not too strange for them, but still a little bit offset because we wanted to deal with Brighton as well a little bit today.
04:33We tried to play him a bit narrower off the right-hand side, tucked him in so that he could give us the feeling of having an extra midfield player.
04:40And yeah, he done a good enough job.
04:42Like you say, if you've been involved in today, what was the thought process again?
04:48Was it some bit to engage Brighton in his strength?
04:50Yeah, because of Brighton's ability to play through centrally so much, they're so good at playing centrally.
04:56But probably the biggest compliment I could give Harrison is his ability to take on information and understand roles.
05:03He doesn't always get it right, but he's someone who when you sort of give him the information,
05:08I feel as if he can do it or would attempt to do it.
05:12Yep, and then we'll come back.
05:14I think I might say, you started your manager role in your career when you were about 35.
05:20Yeah.
05:21Having Hurtzler, 31 million appointments, 32 million.
05:25They've gotten one win in 11 or 13.
05:28There's a faction of the supporters here.
05:31I'm not happy about them.
05:33What's your take on the job he's doing and his team?
05:38I'm nearly going, you're joking.
05:42I'm nearly with my mouth at a jar saying, are you having a laugh?
05:46He's doing unbelievable.
05:48He's doing a brilliant, brilliant job for Brighton.
05:51He really is.
05:53And actually, you should consider yourselves incredibly lucky to have such a manager.
05:59And I've been in a couple of places recently where sometimes, you know, the grass isn't always greener.
06:04And you have to make sure that the manager here is doing a really good job.
06:08This is, which I probably said, it's an incredibly well-run club with good ideas and whatnot.
06:14Sometimes you've just got to remember where your place is.
06:17Sometimes you've got an excellent manager.
06:21In fact, you might have a manager who in the end will probably want to be the national manager
06:26of the German national team in years to come, et cetera.
06:29So you've certainly got someone who I think has got big prospects.
06:34Yeah.
06:35A couple of questions.
06:37Dave, just to check.
06:38Did you get booked?
06:39Come on.
06:40Yes, I did.
06:41Yeah.
06:42Get booked for that.
06:43Imagine booking for celebrating.
06:45Eh?
06:46Who wants to see managers getting booked for celebrating?
06:50You know what I mean?
06:52I mean, I don't think I'd have danced down if the goal was in the 55th minute.
06:57You know what I mean?
06:58Yeah.
06:59But you know, it means they've got nothing about them at all.
07:02No thoughts about what football means or what it means to the managers without absolutely
07:09just saying, no, you just can't step outside that line and I'm worried about you.
07:13Fucking sad, isn't it?
07:14Fucking sad.
07:15You know what I mean?
07:16I'm still shaking my head.
07:17You know what I mean?
07:18Would you do it again?
07:19I bloody will do it again.
07:20Actually, I think if I had been a bit more mobile, I might have done a knee slide.
07:37You know what I mean?
07:38You know what I mean?
07:39But I don't know.
07:40See, that would have only got me a yell as well.
07:42Yeah.
07:43Get some value.
07:44So I might as well have gone the whole hog.
07:45Yeah.
07:46You know what I mean?
07:47Yeah.
07:48No.
07:49Now you're going a step too far.
07:51Did you have another one?
07:54Just on the floor at the back.
07:57Throughout the season, it's sort of been rumoured that you were in need of a right
08:02back, possibly a left back.
08:03Yeah.
08:04But having seen how that's worked today, is it something you think less of?
08:08Are you quite comfortable?
08:09Yeah.
08:10We've still needed, we still feel as if that possibly we need a, we've been needing a right
08:14back.
08:15Jared Bradbury's been injured for the best part of six months, I'd probably say so, which
08:19has meant that, maybe more, it's meant that he could easily cover it left back and I
08:23always had that in my head if we needed it.
08:26Or he could be the number one left back if I had better play in centre halves.
08:30Michael Keane's played really well at centre half for me today, played well again today
08:33and Jared went left back.
08:35So, yeah, I mean we lose a little bit, you lose a little bit because you might lose the
08:41ability and that's why we changed.
08:43Even late on we brought Paterson on who got me two or three crosses in the box, where maybe
08:48the other ones don't give me that ability.
08:50So, there's a little bit of balance when you do these things as a manager.
08:56You have to sort of sometimes take away some which they might offer to get some which we
09:01did.
09:02We knew that Big Jake and Jared were quick enough and we think the wingers here are very fast
09:05with Brighton have got.
09:08Any further questions?
09:10Last one, Jared.
09:11David, I think this will be the last chance that anyone gets to answer this before the deadline.
09:14Any chance when your players come in, do you think?
09:16I'll answer it quickly, yes I do.
09:18You do?
09:19But don't have a title, don't have a big headline, yes he does.
09:22He thinks it's coming because it might not and then we disappoint people.
09:26So, we're always better keeping you under the radar rather than saying yes.
09:30I wouldn't give any names away of players at other clubs.
09:34OK, tap.
09:36Wait, tap.
09:37It's good.
09:38Did you record that?
09:39Yes, my.
09:40Did you record that?
09:41Yes, my.
09:42Did you record that?
09:43Yes, my.
09:44Did you record that?
09:45It's a relatively good one.
09:46I didn't mind recording it.
09:48It's a relatively good one.
09:49I didn't mind recording it.
