00:00David, another excellent win on the road, just get your thoughts on those three points.
00:18Hugely important. I think it probably keeps us away from the big R at the bottom of the league, that's for sure.
00:25So the idea now is to try and push on, but every win you get in the Premier League you get quite excited,
00:33but if you lose a game you could easily be in the wrong end of the league.
00:38We've had two away games, obviously there's two away games in this period,
00:42and to pick up a point at Brighton and win three at Fulham today,
00:45Fulham are thinking of second or third best home record in the league,
00:49so from that point of view great result for us.
00:52How specifically did you think that was at half-time?
00:57Yeah, they did. I didn't think we played well, but I didn't think we were as bad.
01:02We kept the ball quite well for the opening ten minutes,
01:05and then we done a couple of things which were wrong.
01:10And let's be fair, the goal was really unlucky.
01:13It was a brilliant save by the goalkeeper and he pushes it onto Mikko,
01:15so there was a bit of a misfortune.
01:18I don't disagree with what you're saying,
01:20that probably Fulham were the better team in the first half,
01:22but I didn't think they were that far in front of us.
01:24We'd done well to make sure it was only 1-0 at half-time,
01:27but I thought we played much better in the second half.
01:31When you look at Leeds and you look at Brighton,
01:33and then today it's probably three games in a row where Everett
01:36had probably been under the cost a little bit in the first half,
01:38and they've come back so well in the second half.
01:40What do you think they're doing in the second half of games
01:42that they're perhaps not doing in the first half?
01:44I think the level of the teams, if you were doing it the other way,
01:47if you were the Fulham manager, you might say to him,
01:49why do you think you've done well in the first half and not in the second half?
01:52Because the teams are so level in the Premier League.
01:55It's very rare that you're going to have a dominance in the Premier League
01:58for 90 minutes, absolutely.
02:00Even the top teams probably don't, because maybe the odd team,
02:03maybe an Arsenal might do it, but there aren't many teams.
02:06I think you have to accept that you might not play so well
02:09because the other team plays better than you,
02:11but you can pick it up and you can play better.
02:13Is that part of the line up here in Brighton,
02:15trying to make sure that you stay in games,
02:17make sure you keep things tight,
02:18so then you can then have that belief in the second half?
02:20No, nothing to do with staying in games.
02:22We're going out right from the start to try and win.
02:24It might not look it, but that's what we are doing, yeah.
02:27You must take a huge amount of pride from the fact
02:29that we want to come from behind,
02:31to produce a second half performance like that,
02:32and get points in that way.
02:34Yeah, players were aware of it at half-time,
02:36made aware, and they certainly went about it.
02:39They're a really good group of players
02:41to respond to it.
02:43So, no, they've done a good job.
02:45Absolutely.
02:46David?
02:48David, how did you find not being on the touchline today?
02:50We saw a photo of your mic.
02:53Yeah, it wasn't fun.
02:56It wasn't fun watching it up there.
02:58But if you go through history,
03:00lots of managers used to watch games from the stand,
03:03you know, in years and years gone by,
03:05you know, they thought they'd get a better view of it.
03:07Maybe watched it in the first half and came down in the second half.
03:10But, no, it's pretty sad that you're going to get that
03:14for showing emotion that you like.
03:17But, no doubt, I broke the rules.
03:20No doubt, ran on the pitch.
03:22But just check how many people from the Arsenal bench
03:25ran on the pitch when they scored the goal the other night.
03:28And Mikel will maybe be questioning me.
03:30But, you know, how many people out of the bench of Arsenal
03:35ran on the pitch and where they booked for celebrating?
03:39Did it change much in terms of your prep?
03:42I've got to say, I didn't change my prep.
03:44No, we prepared everything.
03:46The staff were great.
03:47You know, I was able to be in the dressing room too.
03:50Yeah.
03:51I wish I'd actually sat in the away end.
03:54That would have been a thing.
03:55I think that would have been a better idea.
03:57If I'd known.
03:58That would have been...
03:59Just getting the instructions over would have been difficult.
04:01You didn't have to go to the swimming pool
04:03they've got up there to celebrate.
04:05Yeah, I had a wee swim when I was up there.
04:10I mean, Keir in Kingsbury Hall.
04:12Yeah.
04:13Good for him to get the goal.
04:14I think he's trying to claim that
04:15the goal being awarded to him as well.
04:17The second one.
04:18Is he?
04:19Yes.
04:20I actually came in.
04:21I went in the press thinking that
04:22Big Jake had got a flick.
04:23I've not had the chance to see it back yet.
04:26That's it.
04:27Yeah.
04:28What does he bring to your team?
04:29What's he brought all season?
04:31He's brought...
04:32He's given us a different level as a football player.
04:35His knowledge.
04:37He's been so, so good.
04:40And I think he's not...
04:42If I'm...
04:43I don't think he's quite there.
04:45He's just about there from where he's been.
04:47He's got through the best part.
04:48He played 90 minutes or so today.
04:50So he's returning from a hamstring injury.
04:53He picked up at Stanford Bridge when we were in London.
04:57So he's just really getting back to it.
04:59He missed a great chance at Brighton last week.
05:01And his goal today was very, very similar.
05:03And he did say to me during the week, he says,
05:05if I get another one like that, I won't miss it.
05:07At least he's delivered.
05:08So he's delivered.
05:09Tyreek George as well.
05:10Yeah.
05:11Some encouraging moments when he came off the bench?
05:12Yeah.
05:13Tyreek, we've quite liked what we've seen so far.
05:15I think it's not easy to bring in a young player right in,
05:18but we'll try and sort of integrate him and see what he's about.
05:21He's settled in well.
05:23He's...
05:24We're happy with what we've seen in training.
05:26He wants to score goals from a wide area,
05:28which is something we could really do with as well.
05:30And so hopefully he'll get used to us and we'll get used to him.
05:34Sorry, just up on Gary.
05:36How carefully have you managed to manage him?
05:39Well, today we had to manage in minutes.
05:41We've been out for the best part seven or eight months.
05:45I don't know how long it is.
05:46So we played him the most part of last week
05:49and we're just...
05:50Because he played 45 as well,
05:51and it was a quick turnaround from Monday to Saturday,
05:54they were just a bit concerned that we don't push him too soon.
05:58Among those other problems for Tuesday, for example?
06:01Yeah, no, there'll be no problem for him for Tuesday.
06:03Or I don't believe so, you know.
06:05David, you're up to seven now.
06:07You mentioned them as away fans.
06:08I'm sure they're going to be going back to Monday.
06:10So I've seen them at Europe.
06:12Are you happy then to dream of what they do?
06:15I get asked this and I don't know if I regret saying it all the time.
06:18I don't want to come in here and say,
06:20we're just trying to avoid relegation.
06:22I don't want to do that because Everton have had too much bad news
06:25and bad publicity and stuff.
06:27So I'd rather come in here and say, hey, we're having a go at Europe.
06:32You might laugh at me in a few weeks' time and say, you know,
06:35how stupid were you?
06:36But I'd rather be positive and try to make the players know that that's what I want.
06:42And they do know.
06:43They do.
06:44They know as well.
06:45I'm aware that we'd like to do that.
06:46But maybe, maybe if you said at the start of the season,
06:51people would have said, you know, if Everton are finished up and get through the season,
06:55then it might be quite good.
06:56But I think we've made big improvements and we need to make more big improvements
07:00in the coming sort of transfer windows over the next year or two as well.
07:05OK, folks.
07:06Right, tap.
07:09Cheers.
07:10Cheers.
07:11Cheers.
