A tragic boat capsize incident occurred in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India, near the Yamuna River around 2:45 PM. The incident took place near the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, a major pilgrimage site. A pontoon bridge was under repair on the Yamuna River when a boat carrying devotees capsized. At least 10 people were reported dead and 12 others were rescued. Rescue operations were conducted by fishermen and police at the scene. Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed their condolences over the tragic incident. Search and rescue operations were still ongoing at the time of the report. The victims were among pilgrims who had traveled from various parts of the country to visit the holy city of Mathura.
