A tragic boat capsize incident occurred in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India, near the Yamuna River around 2:45 PM. The incident took place near the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, a major pilgrimage site. A pontoon bridge was under repair on the Yamuna River when a boat carrying devotees capsized. At least 10 people were reported dead and 12 others were rescued.
