00:00All right, T-Mills back in the building. I see you.
00:02If you're on YouTube and Twitch, you can see Tyler Milner rocking the freshly new white 95.7 The Fan
00:10shirt.
00:12What up, boys? Sorry for the delay.
00:14We're doing that for the people? We gotta get the people some fan gear.
00:19Yeah, I actually just last night ordered some more of this very shirt I'm wearing today.
00:23And I'm gonna be hooking the people up here and there.
00:27Yeah, I know there are many people.
00:29Frank, Tony, Cornbread, Brandon, Joel.
00:35Joel is faithful, boy.
00:37Joel's like that person at a church, man.
00:39You always know you're gonna get Joel's tides.
00:41And if you're Joel Osteen, you are that person at the church.
00:45It's coming in hot, ain't it?
00:47Ready to roll, wasn't it?
00:49There it is.
00:51Yeah, man, we gotta get the folks some gear.
00:53Sure, but no, we appreciate you rolling in with us and hanging out with us on a Friday.
01:01The Astros, two games up here on the Rangers, Clint.
01:05And this thing, what'd you say, five teams with records above five?
01:09I think that's right.
01:10I think in the American League, in the entire American League.
01:12And probably about seven other teams that are under .500 who think they still got a shot to get in.
01:17And the Astros, like, I know it is hard because we watch them every day.
01:27And we can see all of their flaws.
01:30But I'm telling you, man, these other teams around this American League, too, boy,
01:34they're having the same conversations and annoyance about their teams
01:39that doesn't have Jordan Alvarez on it, that doesn't have Hunter Brown or Josh Hader on it.
01:44All you need is Bo Nix to get hurt.
01:48All you need is one of them top teams.
01:51Just let Bo Nix get hurt and clear that path to the World Series, baby.
01:55Clear right out, yeah.
01:55Yeah.
01:56Yeah, man, yeah.
01:56And Aaron Judge has been hurt.
01:58There he is.
01:59There you go.
01:59He has been hurt.
02:00But I'm trying to think, like, if anybody has an advantage in the American League,
02:08that could be the difference, right?
02:10There's not a, like, honest to God, I don't love this Astros team.
02:16And as I know what gets to you, Clint and Tyler, it is hard not to,
02:22and many of you listening, to understand, like, what you've seen over the last several years
02:29and then compare it to what you're seeing here.
02:31Like, we've seen championship-level teams.
02:34We've seen teams that would wipe the floor with this team that didn't win at all.
02:39All right, and, but it depends on what field you're in.
02:44And the field that the Astros are in right now, like, they are, they can play with these teams.
02:51It's not, it would not be a shocker in a seven-game series if they beat the Rays.
02:56Like, like, right now, it would not be a shocker.
02:59I wouldn't know that I'd put money on it.
03:01It wouldn't be a shocker.
03:02And I just say this, and we're looking at advantages.
03:08Do you think that this version of the Astros has the championship experience advantage?
03:18Do you still think they hold that amongst other teams?
03:21Is that something that could be an advantage once they got to the postseason,
03:25or are we too far removed from that with the guys that are still there?
03:31No, I don't think we're too far removed from it.
03:33I think it's crazy to think that it's lasted this long.
03:35It's crazy to think that so many guys have come and gone, and it's, and it's still a reality.
03:40I think that is one thing that Joe Espada, his experience with that in particular,
03:45I think is extremely valuable because he's obviously aware of it
03:48and wants to keep it alive as long as he can.
03:51The Altuve piece is obviously bigger than we give it credit.
03:54We see and hear the mild-mannered Altuve, but he seems to be the one piece
04:01that's kind of been involved in the winning in a couple of different eras
04:06or a couple of different windows, if you will, for the Astros.
04:09And so, no, I think it's still real.
04:12I think it's still very real.
04:14And when you bring guys in like Christian Walker, when you bring guys in,
04:19like I know nobody's happy with him right now, but Dalton Varshaw,
04:22wasn't he in a World Series last year?
04:24So, I mean, you bring those guys in that embrace and acknowledge
04:31and embrace exactly why and how the Astros clubhouse is different.
04:36I think that's how you keep it alive, and they've done a really good job of that to date.
04:40And so, I don't think it's as powerful as it once was.
04:44By the way, with Los Correa back in the building, big piece that I forgot to mention
04:48of keeping that thing alive as well.
04:51I don't think it's as powerful as it once was, Ron, but I do believe that it's alive
04:55and it's real and it is absolutely an advantage.
04:57Because that used to be, even when they were leaking oil the last couple of years,
05:04that still used to be an advantage over some teams.
05:09Like, the Astros always felt like they were going to find a way to pull it out.
05:14And when it came down to it in big moments, they would be able to kind of figure out
05:22what it is that they need to do.
05:27And I wonder, has that just completely gone?
05:30They missed the playoffs last year.
05:31They went out and got swept by the Tigers the year before that.
05:35By the way, Altuve, Alvarez, Pena, Javier, Hunter Brown, Brian Abreu, and Ronel Blanco
05:42were all on the team in the playoff roster that won a championship.
05:47So, I mean, every last one of those guys are probably potentially major contributors
05:54to this team that were all still there.
05:59So, I don't know.
06:00I wonder if they still have that.
06:05If they still have the ability to have that as an advantage when they get into a series,
06:11does that click against the White Sox?
06:14Because those guys don't have any experience at all.
06:17Does that click against some of these other teams that they're playing?
06:20I mean, because any type of advantage works, right?
06:26Jordan is an advantage, right?
06:27Any type of advantage works.
06:29So, I wonder, is that something that can be useful with this field in the American League?
06:35Absolutely.
06:36I mean, any advantage you can generate is going to be useful because even if your team
06:40all together, even if your team isn't necessarily championship caliber in the American League,
06:46boy, with a little bit of luck and some good timing, man, you could make a big-time run.
06:51And I think the Astros are plenty capable of doing that just like anybody else is in the
06:55American League, damn near.
06:56So, yeah, I mean, it's not like you have four or five powerhouses that everybody's going to
07:02have to run into at some point in time, and it's survival of the fittest.
07:04I mean, you get on the right side of this thing, and you let whatever powers that be in the
07:11American League knock a couple of guys off, and you have a major injury, which obviously,
07:16you look at what happened to DeGrom in the division.
07:18I mean, it's one of those things where it's going to happen down the stretch here.
07:22So, hopefully it's not us, and hopefully we can take advantage of it and happen to others.
07:25Yeah.
07:26We'll see.
07:28Like, the Astros, as soon as Tyler starts going to games again, but the Astros have a real shot
07:35to make a run here, I can't believe it, with this team, I would bet you, especially if
07:44Hayden Wisniewski, who Clint said earned it earlier in the show, but if he continues to
07:48roll like this, I bet you'd be surprised how many teams can run Hunter Brown, Peter Lambert,
07:54Hayden Wisniewski, the way they're pitching with Josh Hader, and the way Payne is pitching
07:58again, or Payne, damn it.
07:59Brian Abreu.
08:00Abreu, I haven't done that in weeks.
08:01The way that Abreu and Hayden are on the back end, I bet you there aren't a lot of
08:07teams in the American League that can run that out there.
08:09You'd be surprised.
08:10Yeah.
08:10Like, that can run all of that out there.
08:13From a production standpoint, just those stat lines or those performances, run them out
08:18there, three of them.
08:19Yeah, look, I mean, and when you got the big fella in the middle, you need a little bit
08:24of help around him from either Pena or Isak Paredes or Osad Dish or Christian Walker,
08:31somebody.
08:31You need a little help, but wherever you get it, we'll be fine if he can keep raking.
08:37I mean, we'll see.
08:38It's not been as impressive as of late.
08:43My triple crown update that I was doing, this may be a week to skip it.
08:49I mean, he's dropped in the RBIs.
08:51He's dropped in the home runs.
08:52I mean, a little rough stretch here for you.
08:54If you're going 13 straight without hitting the home run, that's probably not going to
08:58help you on both ends.
08:59Yeah, not when old Shorber's out there playing in the cornfield.
09:01Yeah, not like everybody's getting on base in front of him.
09:04Yeah.
09:05All right, coming up as we continue.
09:10I hate, Tyler, I don't know if this happens to you.
09:13I don't know if it happens to some of you that are listening, but I hate when I hear
09:17Clint's voice in my ear.
09:19Well, damn, you do it four hours a day.
09:21In your head, you meant?
09:22In my head and in my ears when I hear it.
09:25You can say, damn.
09:26In my head and in my ears.
09:27I heard it in all of it.
09:28I heard it in all of it.
