Many are mounting pressure on the United States and Israel to include the stoppage of fighting at the Israel-Lebanon border in the peace talks for the US-Israel war with Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had instructed the government Israel to begin peace talks with Lebanon that would also include the disarming of Hezbollah, while Lebanon intends to take part in a meeting next week in Washington with US and Israeli representatives to discuss and announce a ceasefire.

00:33I would like to say to you, there is no peace in our country.
00:37We will continue to do it with the peace of mind, and we will not be able to do it
00:41until you do it.
00:43After the shutdowns of the Lebanon, we will be able to enter the peace of mind with us,
00:49I will be able to enter the peace of mind with Lebanon, in order to achieve two units.
00:56One is the peace of mind and the second is the peace of mind with Israel and Lebanon.
01:05We, the troops contributing countries to the UN Interim Force in Lebanon, or UNIFIL,
01:13joined by several other member states and the European Union, express deep concern over the escalation of tension in Lebanon
01:27since 2 March 2026,
01:31and its impact on the safety and security of peacekeepers.
01:37We condemn, in the strongest terms, the persistent attacks against UNIFIL,
01:46including the latest grave attacks which caused the lives of three Indonesian peacekeepers
01:55and injured several other peacekeepers from France, Ghana, Indonesia, Nepal, and Poland.
02:04We call for a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, the escalation of tensions, and for all parties to return to
02:15the negotiating table.
02:17We reiterate our strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and unity of Lebanon.
02:32What we're witnessing is not just a displacement crisis.
02:36It is rapidly becoming a food security crisis.
02:39We're already seeing clear signs of rising food prices across Lebanon.
02:43In just one month, the price of vegetables has surged by more than 20%.
02:48Bread prices have increased by 17%.
02:51For families who are already struggling, this is deeply concerning.
02:55And what we're now seeing is a very worrying combination.
02:58Prices are rising, incomes are disrupted, and demand is increasing as displacement continues.
03:06For many families, food is still available, but it's becoming increasingly unaffordable.
03:11This escalation is pushing vulnerable communities even closer to the edge.
03:16Even before this latest escalation, about 900,000 people across Lebanon were facing food insecurity.
03:25And our latest analysis to be released probably next week, hopefully, indicate the number is set to rise.
03:31On the every day, it was one of the biggest.
