00:00And then it turns out that it is appendicitis, which is a serious medical condition that, Amy, you've gone through.
00:06Yes, I've had that.
00:07And not fun.
00:09Awful, but probably the one of the most painful things I've ever been through.
00:12And it was a similar situation.
00:14Woke up at, like, 2.30 in the morning with the sharp, extremely painful, like, stabbing pain right in, like,
00:22the side back area and debilitating.
00:24Could barely, like, stand up and walk and had to get to the hospital and was in surgery.
00:29It got to the hospital, like, a little after 3 a.m., and I was in surgery by 6 a
00:32.m.
00:33Yeah, it's not great to go through, and it's also not great for the Sixers to have happen to their
00:39best player.
00:40The timing of it.
00:42It's just you can't make it up.
00:44You legitimately can't make it up.
00:46And I think that was the perfect encapsulation yesterday of what we went through over the stage of a couple
00:50hours with Joel Embiid and his time here in this city.
00:53There is a tough balance to be struck of how much has he under-delivered based on availability, based on
01:03playoff performances, all of this stuff.
01:04That's part of the equation that will never go away.
01:06And then something like this happens, and there's no other way to look at it than how unlucky can one
01:13guy and one team, when you build it out to the Sixers as an organization, be when it comes to
01:19these kind of crazy things.
01:21You have both the under-delivering and the unluckiness merged into one, and every single time it just feels like
01:31something happens, whether it's his fault or not, that leads to this team being in a bad spot.
