00:05Tell us about what does he bring to the table,
00:08and is everybody going to concentrate on the five points a game thing a little too much?
00:12Dean Wade is just like one of those guys that you want to surround your star players with
00:15because he kind of just brings it on both ends of the floor.
00:18And I think the biggest strength of his is obviously his defense.
00:21That's been his calling card most of his career, especially with the Cavs this season.
00:25He's really good at defending off the dribble, just with his physicality,
00:28the way he positions himself to force tough shots.
00:31He can guard multiple positions, guards, wings.
00:33You look at the Cavs' playoff run, they entrusted him with a lot of the tougher assignments.
00:38When Brandon Ingram, when he was Brandon Ingram's closest defender,
00:41he shot 3-14 from the field.
00:43Cade shot 10-25 from the field in the same situation.
00:46So that's the type of guy that you're getting.
00:48Also capable three-point shooter.
00:51Shot 40% on open corner threes this past season.
00:54You know, you see Joel Embiid.
00:55He draws so many double teams for, you know, all the question marks surrounding him.
00:59Tyree's maxed and he gets surrounded at the rim.
01:01So you're going to get a guy who provides some relief there.
01:04And that's a big thing for the Sixers.
01:06I kind of see this comparison.
01:08You know, Nicholas Batum, a guy that fans loved a few years ago,
01:10he offers kind of a similar skill set.
01:13He's also, you know, a solid passer.
01:15He's not going to wow you with anything he does with the ball,
01:17but just makes those simple reads that just keeps the offense going.
01:21And, you know, for any drawback, he is already 29.
01:24He will be 33 after the fourth year of his deal.
01:27You know, he's not the best rebounder for his listed position.
01:30A little bit limited offensively.
01:32Maybe he needs to be a little bit more aggressive sometimes.
01:34But does this move make the Sixers like a true contender out of the East?
01:38No, but it's a start.
01:39And I think the fact that just, you know, so many contending teams,
01:42they were interested in him.
01:44And the fact that the Sixers got him for a really solid price is good.
