02:57But we did pre discuss it that I was gonna say I don't know what Brent's talking about
03:01That's right. So we did the interview with Zach and about three hours later it ends up on all these

03:06Which I said I go this is gonna be on every website because I'm refuting what Brent Smith said. Yeah
03:12Well the record's out. How's that feel? So it's a month old today amazing. Yeah, it's great
03:19I didn't know it was a month old today. Yeah, the 29th of May, right? All right. Yeah
03:23Yeah, I gotta say it's the most
03:25It's by far in a month. It's the most reviewed debut that we've ever had between eight records
03:32I think the biggest thing is just internationally that it's
03:36Look the thing is is that when you've been doing it for 25 years you want there to be a
03:41steadiness
03:42You wouldn't hope you have a career
03:45But you want a steadiness of that climb a lot of times, you know
03:49If it goes up too fast and you don't know how to handle it you can drop you know the
03:54bottom can drop out
03:56And but for us, it's like the consistency to not make the same record over and over again
04:02Do our best to try and not write the same song twice
04:06But I got to say this I think the reason that it's being received by a lot of people from
04:10a global standpoint
04:11Is they can hear the fact that we worked really really hard on it
04:18But I guys I got to give that to the audience because like these eight records if you look at
04:22them all because I did this
04:24Like a couple of days before the record came out
04:26I went back and listened to all eight of the albums that we've presented to the public and
04:33They all have their own moment in time listen to all of them. Yeah back to back

04:39And the the reason I did it is because like I'm not trying to be a punk about what I
04:45say
04:45You know what I mean if I'm gonna say they're all different then they all need to be different
04:49They are definitely they're all different
04:51But the fact of the matter is the reason it took a year and a half to write the record
04:56is
04:56The four of us are in a room some people may know this some people may not
05:01But when you have a band member that has a skill set like Eric Bass who's our bass player
05:08He's definitely a bass player, but he's a multi instrumentalist
05:13He's you know, his skill set is uh, he's a savant in a lot of ways
05:18So when you have a band member that has that kind of a skill set, um, it's not a normal
05:23thing
05:24And for us because we're on the road together, but we're also in the studio together
05:29We spend a lot of time with each other
05:31But when I tell you that he didn't sleep for like, I mean
05:36I mean he didn't sleep for a year and a half
05:38He just was in there every single day refining things
05:42Pushing all of us myself and Zach and Barry to be the best that we could be while we were
05:47in there
05:47But also the level of songwriting, you know, it has to be at a really really high bar
05:53So like if we come in with something and we're looking at each other and it's like I think this
05:57will do
05:58That's never spoken those those words aren't spoken
06:01You don't walk in and like oh, I think this will be good enough
06:03Like we're pushing each other in there, but I think the record shows that
06:09Now you mentioned you went through all the records
06:11Was there ever a time when you're recording this record where you're like
06:13You know, this sounds like something that was on attention to attention or something like that?

06:18We kind of catch ourselves in the writing process
