Mego has a Celtics theory! Do you agree? What are your thoughts?
Celts fall to Knicks 112-106. Jaylen Brown did not play in game. Baylor Scheierman and Josh Hart went back-to-back in 4th. Was that a playoff preview?

00:00Meggo has a bizarre theory about the Celtics using CIA type mind tricks, I believe, last night as in offering
00:13her green teamer excuse for the loss last night. Am I correct about that?
00:19I accept the accusation, but I don't think it's bizarre. I think if you follow Joe Missoula, you'd see that
00:26this loss to the Knicks last night, the Celtics are psychologically holding something back. They are. Because, look, even if
00:35you just look at the injury report, okay, Jalen Brown could have played last night, I'm guessing. I know he's
00:41got the Achilles tendonitis, which scares the pants off everybody because it has the word Achilles in it, and you're
00:46going to MSG.
00:46But my guess is that he will play tonight, and it was a decision between the back-to-back, which
00:52game he's going to go for. And I wouldn't be surprised if Joe Missoula, because he's crazy like a fox,
00:58looked at that Knicks game and said, the most important thing is for Jason to get his sea legs there.
01:04We're going to hold Jalen back from this game, let him play the other game in the back-to-back,
01:09because I'm sure he is banged up and dealing with something, and so they're pacing him out going into the
01:13playoffs.
01:13But the important thing is for JT to get his sea legs and let the Knicks think they're the big
01:19dog.
01:20Like, let the Knicks think that they own the Celtics, because it was the reverse when he went into the
01:24playoffs last year, and it bit you in the ass.
01:27Because you handled the Knicks so well all through the regular season, and you went into that game, and psychologically,
01:34they had the edge.
01:35I think Joe Missoula is all about that kind of head game.
01:38Okay, so same way I approached the match with Scheib.
01:42Exactly.
01:42Let him talk away about how great he is last year, and then prove myself on the golf course.
01:47Unless Scheib's playing the longest game ever with that, and that's what that performance was about last year.
01:52See, I would disagree with Mago a little bit.
01:55I understand her theory and what she is trying to say, but I feel like what you do is you
02:00give a team like the Knicks a little bit of life.
02:02You know, and like, oh, we can beat this team, we're the better team, we proved it last year.
02:09Why would they need to feel they beat them?
02:11No, because I think this year, I think the expectations might be a little, they were a little bit different
02:16this year for the Celtics and Knicks, right?
02:19The Celtics.
02:20The best players on the Knicks beat the Celtics.
02:22No, I know that, but I'm saying this year's expectations.
02:24I think the Knicks looked at it and go, oh, we're going to be easily the number two seed because
02:28the Celtics don't have Jason Taylor.
02:30And it's been a completely different year, right?
02:33And so I would have loved to seen Jalen play you anything, like any little bit of confidence that they
02:41had.
02:41Maybe you take it away from them in a game like last night, you know?
02:45And that's what I would have did.
02:47I understand what Mago's trying to do, the reverse psychology type of thing, but I would have just said, all
02:51right, big dogs, you guys are going to go.
02:53So, you know, you'll get the tonight off against New Orleans and go out there and do your thing against
03:00the team that we'd probably be seeing in a few weeks.
03:02So, I genuinely believe my theory because why, do you think that Jalen was not able to play last night?
03:09No, I think he could have played.
03:11So then why did they sit him?
03:12If they could have sewn up the two seed last night and, to your point, taken all the air out
03:18of the Knicks tires and said, see you guys in a couple weeks.
03:24Like, have fun.
03:25It's going to be interesting when we get there.
03:27But they, I believe Jalen was probably healthy enough to play.
03:31So, why did they decide, even before the game started, to say, all right, in this back-to-back, Jalen's
03:38not playing this game?
03:38I mean, I believe what you're saying.
03:40Like, I believe Joe Mazzula would think like that and think like, all right, let the Knicks believe that they're
03:44the better team.
03:46So, they give them, you know, maybe they get overconfident.
03:49I believe that that's something Joe Mazzula, but I don't agree with it.
03:52It just seems, if that's what he's doing, I mean, I guess kudos to him.
03:56But it's, so they go into the first game of a potential playoff series overconfident, and that's one game of
04:05the series.
04:05What happens, like, what happens after that?
04:08One game can make the difference, Greg.
04:10One game can make the difference.
04:12You have to understand, this is, I really feel that this is how Joe Mazzula thinks.
04:17Like, he loves if the other team thinks that they have the upper hand.
04:22So, what he's doing, because you like to say that he's Joe Mazzula, and we know he loves the jiu
04:27-jitsu, and he's a fighter.
04:29So, he's pulling the old Muhammad Ali.
04:31Yeah, exactly.
04:32The old okie-doke.
04:33He's like a 3D printer, but a head coach.
04:35Yeah.
04:35He's pulling the old okie-doke.
04:37Thriller in Manila, right?
04:38Yeah.
04:38The performance beating him.
04:39I believe it's, some call it a Jedi mind trick.
04:43All right.
04:43And that would be what Joe Mazzula is doing.
04:44Yeah, I don't agree with the Jedi mind trick, but.
04:46Yeah.
04:47So, according to this logic, he really, really, really, really, really wants the Coach of the Year award, right?
04:51Because when he sat there, he got angry.
04:54He was mad.
04:55He was like, I hate this award.
04:56It's the worst thing that's ever been existed.
04:58Speaking of 3D printers, Shyam, I think Bryson needs to 3D print a new golf course to play on.
05:06Yeah, he might need a little help.
05:07After yesterday.
05:10That one hole he just exploded on, huh?
05:13He's like, honestly, like you and I, and like everybody else who tries to go out and hit the ball
05:19around.
05:19I thought it was a little much when Nance said that Bryson shimed it.
05:25Well.
05:25Even Courtney was taking shots at me on social media.
05:27Yes, she was.
05:29Yes, she was.
05:30From her home, no less.
05:32I mean, that doesn't seem appropriate.
05:35I mean, if you're not actually in the battle, should you be taking shots at those who are?
05:40I don't know.
05:40I don't know, man.
05:41I mean, that's your work bestie, by the way.
05:43Although, I don't know who's a bigger work bestie these days, Courtney or Meggo?
05:48We spend weekends together.
05:50Although, I'm bailing on this Saturday, so I feel a little bad.
05:53Oh, really?
05:54Yeah, I'm going to be up in Maine.
05:55I'm bailing next weekend.
05:57Well, you've got an important day.
05:59You've got an important day next weekend.
