00:03The KL High Court has set April 28th as the date to decide whether five corruption charges against former senior

00:22Shamsul Iskandar filed the transfer application back in February, arguing that the cases involve complex constitutional questions and that moving
00:31them to the High Court would not prejudice either party.
00:34All five charges relate to alleged dealings with businessman Albert Tay and are alleged to have taken place between late
00:402023 and September 2024 at multiple locations including Bukit Bandaraya, Putrajaya and Kajang.
00:48Shamsul Iskandar was first charged at the KL Sessions Court on December 4th last year, with a fifth charge added

01:04were not related to his official duties.
01:06If convicted, each charge carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and a fine of at least five times
01:13the value of the alleged bribe, or 10,000 ringgit, whichever is higher.
