00:05Pakatan Harapan has announced 21 candidates for the upcoming Melaka state election,
00:10retaining all five of its incumbent assemblymen.
00:13The announcement was made by Pakatan Harapan Chairman and Prime Minister,
00:18Dato' Sri Anwar Ibrahim, with Amanah contesting five seats, DAP7 and PKR9.
00:24The Melaka State Legislative Assembly has 28 seats,
00:28with candidates for the remaining seven constituencies yet to be announced.
00:32They are Air Limau, Lendu, Taboh Naning, Sungai Udang, Pantai Kundur, Duyong and Bemban.
00:40The five incumbents retained are Adli Zahari for Bukit Katil,
00:44Xia Shuchin for Kesidang, Lo Chi Leong for Kota Laksamana,
00:49Leng Chaoyen for Bandar Hilir and Kirk Chi Yi for Air Keroh.
00:53Anwar said he was encouraged by the strong turnout and enthusiasm
00:57shown by the crowd.
00:58He urged party members and supporters to work together as one team,
01:03saying the election was about securing a better future
01:06for their children, parents and families.
01:08Anwar also reminded supporters that each candidate represented
01:12Pakatan Harapan's political struggle and aspirations,
01:16adding that their success would depend on the support of voters
01:19and coalition partners.
