00:00Hi, my name is David Michael Cray, and today I have a poem for you that I wrote called
00:05Twisted, and this is also a song that I wrote.
00:08It goes like this.
00:11Emptiness gripped me, tried to swallow me whole.
00:15Darkness had me, though light was my goal.
00:18Made clouded gray skies, ominous and cold.
00:22Darkness shrouded my eyes from the path that is gold.
00:25My heart was broken, my sorrow spoken did no good, there was no way that it could.
00:32My confidence was crushed from losses in life, struggling in an empty sleepless night, wishing
00:39it a nightmare from which I had awakened, and into light my soul would be shaken.
00:45My life has been twisted, even though I resisted.
00:49All of my dreams thrown to the floor, but I kept coming back for more.
00:54But Jesus saved me from my past.
00:57I finally found the love that will last.
00:59Wishing things went different ways, but seeing I learned from all those days.
01:04From my past I might never be free, but all that pain has made what is me.
01:10I still can't say I'd do it all again, but what I know now comes from when I was twisted.
