Kia’s Telluride is back—bigger

00:00This is the 2027 Kia Telluride, seen here in the off-road themed X-Pro trim.

00:05All new version of Kia's big three-row SUV, closely related to the Hyundai Palisade,

00:10and like the new Palisade, it is bigger.

00:16Now as you can see, Kia has maintained this vertical light theme from the old Telluride.

00:20The headlights are actually concealed here, right next to the grille.

00:24Now this grille full of squares here is unique to the X-Pro model.

00:28The non-X-Pro models will have vertical slats here.

00:31And the X-Pro also has these orange tow hooks, which are functional.

00:34You have this really nifty detail in the wheel arches.

00:37Of course, greater body to tire clearance, because we're looking at the X-Pro model,

00:40and these blacked out wheels are exclusive to the X-Pro.

00:43Almost three-inch stretch in the wheelbase, 2.3 inches more length, an inch taller,

00:47and it is also boxier.

00:48Kia designers have embraced the boxiness that is inherent in a family-friendly SUV.

00:53It still has this very Range Rover-esque profile to it.

00:56And of course, with these vertical taillights, that kind of completes the Range Rover theme.

01:00It's a very nice evolution and a different look for the Kia Telluride.

01:07Inside, we have the same single-screen motif from the old Telluride

01:10and many other Kia models that we like quite a bit.

01:13But the control layout, while comprehensive, has been simplified.

01:16They don't quite spread across the dash the way they used to.

01:19Lots of good storage up here, these nice new handles that integrate into the armrest.

01:23Now, it's kind of a shame the X-Pro model has an all-black interior,

01:26because we've also seen some pictures of some really nice two-tone color schemes

01:30that emphasize this wraparound element to the dashboard.

01:36Plenty of room in the second row.

01:38It does have better access to the third row, which is surprisingly habitable,

01:41considering the size of the vehicle.

01:43Lots of nice storage options for these second-row seats.

01:45One of the things we complained about in the outgoing Telluride was awkward third-row access.

01:51Well, the new one, press that button, seat gets out of your way,

01:54there is a decently big opening, and boom.

01:57Here we are.

01:58Now, of course, not a whole lot of room if you're an adult, even a short adult like me.

02:01This is a kid-only space, but the access is definitely a bit better than the old Telluride.

02:06Now, Kia has not given us any mechanical details,

02:12but it doesn't take a huge leap of imagination that it will probably follow

02:16the closely-related Hyundai Palisade with a new V6 and a hybrid powertrain.

02:21However, we will get those details, and we will see the non-X-Pro version

02:24as we get a little bit closer to the Los Angeles Auto Show.
