00:00Gag it!
00:01Gag it!
00:10Hey, I'm here for my final fitting with Balenciaga.
00:14We're two days away from the Met, you know, and I'm just so excited.
00:19You know, it's a great team.
00:21I'm just waiting for my stylist.
00:23I stage a walker, groomer, Ica Flores, and then we'll get into it.
00:27But I'm at the Ritz-Carlton, it's just absolutely a dream.
00:36Oh my god.
00:38Guys.
00:39Oh my god.
00:42I don't even know if I should touch it.
00:44I know, it's too pretty.
00:45Oh.
00:46Wow.
00:46You see this train?
00:48Crazy.
00:49I don't, guys.
00:52I can't wear this.
00:53I can't wear this.
00:54Let's leave.
00:54It's too nice.
00:55I'm not going to use profanity, but that's what I would lead with.
00:59I am just truly sort of taken back because I've never done something this grand before,
01:06and it looks perfect, but I just can't possibly believe I am going to be in that because it's
01:12so pretty.
01:13This is Ica Flores.
01:15She's my groomer.
01:16She grooms me, and then this is...
01:20Do you want to say something?
01:21Okay, and this is Anastasia Walker.
01:23She's my stylist.
01:24She keeps me bougie and stuff.
01:26This year's Met Gala theme is Costume Art, and the red carpet dress code is Fashion Is Art.
01:31When we heard that the theme was Costume Art, we really wanted to pay homage to the house of Cristobal
01:38Valenciaga.
01:39And given that, he drew a lot of inspiration from his Spanish roots and culture.
01:44This particular piece is based off of Spanish bullfighters.
01:48It's so cool seeing something that came from an original reference just being recreated and, like, with Pierre Palo's own
01:56take on it.
01:56There's, like, these photos I saw of, like, these matadors, and they have the kind of pants folded over like
02:03this.
02:04That's what this was inspired by.
02:06I don't know, or maybe I just read this somewhere because I'm, like, super well-read about fashion and everything.
02:11I want to wear this.
02:13I will wear it now.
02:24Crazy.
02:25It's absolutely crazy.
02:27Oh, my God.
02:29Originally, we had a high collar, but we've lowered that a bit.
02:32This is also going to help accentuate his glam look, so stay tuned for that.
02:37Wow.
02:37And then by lowering this pant just a bit, we're just giving body-oddy-oddy sex in.
02:44It's just cool.
02:45It's just cool, chic, relaxed.
02:47We have this very cool wider leg pant, which is a modern take on the matador instead of it being
02:53the traditional tighter fitting.
02:55Usually, in scenes, I don't have a tren with me, so I just need to figure out how I don't
03:03get lost in it or trip on it or, like, maybe just curl up inside of it and cry.
03:09There's so many people that are going to be there to help you on the carpet.
03:12It's going to be so natural.
03:13You're just going to go.
03:13You look pretty.
03:14Right.
03:15Hot.
03:16Hudson, Hudson.
03:16And you're, like, yeah.
03:18This?
03:19Yeah.
03:19That's what I'm giving?
03:20I'm just going to stop.
03:22Stop.
03:22Yeah.
03:23That's it.
03:24Try your walk, darling.
03:25Try a turn.
03:33And try a real turn, like, if you really were.
03:36So you stop, pose, camera.
03:37Hudson, Hudson.
03:39Boom.
03:40Beautiful.
03:41Give them some over the shoulder.
03:42Yes.
03:44This is beautiful.
03:46I like how it plays sort of with, you know, like, I feel like a matador is sort of a
03:49classically masculine symbol, but we're still playing with softness and shape and flow and femininity.
03:56And I feel like it's all sort of existing in one thing, which is really cool for just a guy
04:02like me.
04:03We have a couple more tweaks to make, but I will see you when you're getting ready with me a
04:07little later and when I've had more than two hours of sleep.
04:14Welcome back, guys.
04:16I have had more than two hours of sleep now, and I'm so excited to get ready for the Met.
04:20My first Met.
04:25Hold.
04:26I'm checking my camera roll.
04:27I was in Toronto on an off day for Heated Rivalry, a little show.
04:32Have y'all heard of it?
04:33Oh, I was at the museum of art gallery of Ontario with my girlfriend, Caitlin.
04:41And then eventually, I think we met up with Connor that night and we watched a movie.
04:45What movie did we watch?
04:47I don't remember, but we we kikied and we laughed and we had fun.
04:52So Hudson's a devoted cinephile and he shared early on that one of his favorite films is Black Swan.
04:59So we saw an opportunity to kind of work it into the glam for this Met.
05:04The story we're telling is more purity turning into power.
05:08So White Swan losing its innocence and turning to more powerful, more tailored Black Swan.
05:16With the hair, I wanted it to look like the swan's feathers and the swan's tail.
05:23With Black Swan, we still wanted it to be a little bit more chaotic and freedom.
05:27And reverence.
05:27And reverence.
05:29Stealing my spotlight, this guy.
05:35Blue side is the white swan.
05:37And then here the red is a little bit of like giving Black Swan.
05:42In the movie, she has the red and the red eyes.
05:45Trying to add a little bit of the mess to the Black Swan side.
05:49You know, the sort of freedom, the chaos.
05:52And then on the blue side, we're trying to add the sort of austere, sort of perfect qualities that the
05:59white swan has.
06:01We were talking movies and referencing like movies that we just find or consider high art.
06:08And that, you know, we all sort of agreed on.
06:11Between me and Aika for the makeup look.
06:14And then when we got the kind of mock-up little drawings.
06:19Then we thought, oh, these kind of go with our top options.
06:23Even though maybe story-wise they're not cohesive.
06:26We felt visually they were.
06:28I feel like in my downtime, which isn't all this.
06:31I'm still shooting a movie.
06:33So I'm usually just absorbing as much, reading as much as possible, watching as much.
06:39And then social media is purely gone from my phone.
06:43But I've been really liking Night of the Hunter.
06:45I watched it a long, long time ago.
06:47But it's a great frickin' movie.
06:48Some of the best cinematography and the filmmaker only.
06:52It was like his one and done.
06:53He made the movie.
06:54It's almost perfect.
06:56So good.
06:57So good.
06:58I'm going to put the look on now.
07:00After I freshen up and maybe shut my eyes for a quick 20 seconds.
07:05And then I'll see you guys later.
07:11Bologuri.
07:11We're doing kind of a tasteful amount.
07:13I think this is the piece that really is the piece.
07:16And we just have a little pinky ring case.
07:18You know, as I'm pulling the train, we get a little pinky ring action.
07:21We got a little earring action as well.
07:26This is her.
07:26The original that it's based on, Cristobal, it was more like this.
07:33But it didn't have this little peak white.
07:35But I think they reinvented it with a really nice way.
07:39But then we tried to kind of like lose it around the collar completely.
07:43And then it just didn't feel cohesive.
07:45It felt like kind of like the white just disappeared.
07:47So then we kind of like spent a lot of time making this collar action pop.
07:52Pop, pop, pop, pop.
07:55I think we executed the look.
07:59Yeah.
08:00Yeah.
08:01I think it's stunning.
08:02He has.
08:02And I'll have my trained person.
08:04Yes, you have a trained person.
08:06Yeah.
08:06Do you see this?
08:07Can we just get into the glow?
08:09Also, congrats.
08:10Look at this work you've done.
08:11Christ.
08:11I really hope it's cold in there because I'm realizing now.
08:16We anticipated.
08:16That's why you're shirtless.
08:18He runs hot.
08:22This is my look.
08:24Met.
08:24Gala.
08:25Train.
08:26Valencia.
08:27Yaga.
08:29That's the show I'm in.
08:30Watch it when it's out.
08:31Go support my boy, Connor Story.
08:40Okay.
08:41We gotta go.
08:41But thank you, Bo.
08:42Okay.
08:43Holy shit.
08:44Here we go.
08:52Ta-ra.
08:53Ta-ra.
08:56Ta-ra.
08:59Hang.
09:01No.
