00:00The blame game, ladies and gentlemen.
00:05Number one on the list is Pat Riley to blame for the Miami Heat's fourth straight appearance in the play
00:17-in.
00:17Leroy?
00:20I mean, yeah.
00:23He's the one.
00:25No, hear me out.
00:27Leroy.
00:28He is the single most responsible for getting the players on the roster.
00:35So if you continue to stay with the same players and you're not willing to keep in mind, a lot
00:43of these trades, Pat wasn't willing to give up certain guys.
00:49They weren't included in the deal.
00:53So, in hindsight, we look at it now with all the injured players and go, yeah, we probably could have
00:59let him get traded.
01:03And Pat is responsible for that.
01:05Pat is the one that determines who can be in the trade and who can't.
01:08All right.
01:10So, Pat Riley advances as far as advances in the blame game.
01:15Yeah.
01:16All right.
01:17The next person on the list as to who is to blame for the Miami Heat's fourth straight appearance.
01:26Leroy?
01:27Is Jimmy Butler to blame for the Miami Heat's fourth straight play-in appearance?
01:39I would say to some extent he was on the team for two of them.
01:43Not one of those teams went to the finals.
01:47Mainly because of him.
01:49Right.
01:52But I would say the last two years with him only playing 55, 60 games, with him, you know, listening
02:05to, and I would say this, the playoff Jimmy stuff.
02:11Right.
02:12And him kind of only turning it up towards the end of the season.
02:16And then that not being available, he gets some blame.
02:20Vlad, what about you?
02:22The answer to Riley.
02:24Riley definitely deserved blame for this.
02:29And because I'm looking at the Atlanta Hawks, right?
02:33Right.
02:35They were going through their own situation with their superstar.
02:38And it seemed to me the minute they gave away their superstar, they started playing well.
02:43They started playing more passionate basketball.
02:47I think it's the style of play you have to play with Trey on the court.
02:52It wasn't conducive to the rest of the guys.
02:55True.
02:56But also what's going on in the locker room, behind the scenes, contract.
03:00Right.
03:00We don't know.
03:01Right.
03:01Right.
03:01And I felt like what was going on the last two years when Jimmy was here.
03:07It was about contract, not about basketball.
03:10Right.
03:10And started weighing on the players.
03:12Yeah.
03:12So now that when we're hearing the stories coming out now, after the fact, you could start saying, ah, there
03:18it is.
03:18I understand.
03:19When you're hearing Jaime was, you know, once they had that situation, Jaime was the first guy that called him
03:24after he got suspended and everything like that.
03:26You started to see the fracture and the split, the split within the team, the players and the execs.
03:35Everybody just getting frustrated.
03:36It just was a frustrating situation.
03:39And the other reason why I'm also saying it, I'm sorry, guys.
03:42Maybe the message is just stale now.
03:46And, you know, we're old.
03:48The old don't like budget.
03:49They don't like evolving.
03:51It's stuck in their ways.
03:52Well, I would say Pat may not have evolved, if you could say it about Pat.
03:58But I think Spoh has tried everything.
04:03Now, I will say this.
04:05The only problem that I would have with Spoh, I don't understand why he refuses to go big.
04:16And when you go small, you have two guys who can't play defense.
04:22So, in effect, you're trying to defend five guys with three guys, and they're small.
04:27That just seems like you're setting yourself up for failure.
04:32So, that brings me to my next point.
04:34We've decided Pat Riley is to blame.
04:36We've decided – Leroy put a couple years on Jimmy Butler to blame.
04:41Vlad, do you think Jimmy Butler has any blame in this?
04:46No, Jimmy doesn't because the management should have known what's going to go on with Jimmy.
04:50I'm going to tell you why you're not –
04:52I'm going to tell you why, Leroy.
04:52Jimmy being Jimmy.
04:54Jimmy being Jimmy.
04:55You know who Jimmy was.
04:56Right.
04:56You've got four teams.
04:58You've had – he's played for four teams.
05:01You saw – Miami Heat were the four teams he played for.
05:05He knew what happened in those three previous stops.
05:07Right.
05:08Management should have known this was going to happen.
05:11Correct.
05:11And Riles knew it, too, because Riles said they both have the same personality.
05:16So, what's going to happen when you mess – you deal with somebody with the same personality as yourself?
05:20It's going to be combustible.
05:22Right.
05:22It's going to – yeah, at any minute, it's going to – it's going to end that.
05:26So, not – I don't put it on Jimmy.
05:28I put it on management because they should have known what was going on.
05:30You know what?
05:30I kind of – I do – I agree with you there.
05:36But I also – you got to put Jimmy in there because he's –
05:42Look what's happened.
05:44You got to get – if you know this was going to happen –
05:47You got to get rid of Murley.
05:49But you didn't.
05:50What did you think?
05:51Because you started believing – you still believed in your own hype that as long as we're in, we can
05:56win.
05:57And now look at you.
05:59Because of that one year in 23, right, everybody – those, you know, 24 –
06:06Ah, we got in in 23.
06:08Last year, you know what?
06:10Enough of this playing-ville.
06:11This year, nobody wants to see playing-ville.
06:14It's to the point I don't think they want them to win next week if they do.
06:17Mm-hmm.
06:18That's crazy as it sounds.
06:20So that's why I'm not giving Jimmy the – I'm not putting any blame on Jimmy.
06:23I'm putting it on management.
06:25Like, I'm a – like, I understand what you're saying.
06:30Like, it's not the player's fault.
06:33It's not Jimmy's fault for being Jimmy.
06:36Right?
06:37When you know that's –
06:38It's not because you know.
06:39It's like we were talking earlier about football.
06:42How did it end in Chicago?
06:44Not well.
06:45How did it end in Minnesota?
06:47Not well.
06:49Philly.
06:49How did it end in Philadelphia?
06:51Not well.
06:52What do you think is going to happen in Miami when he wants the money?
06:55And you're like, mm, I don't know if I really want to give you that money.
06:59It's not going to end up.
07:00The only thing is – and I agree with you with all that.
07:04The only thing I will blame Jimmy for, okay, is when you talk about other guys on your team and
07:16that being your guy and that this and that and all that, right?
07:21Like, to go out there and do that to people that supposedly you're your boy and then have the audacity
07:28to complain that I know who called me and who didn't.
07:32Why?
07:33Why would they call you, dude?
07:35You know?
07:36Y'all could be friends in the future, but right now there's still some sting in that.
07:41You know?
07:41So, like, he just wanted to just be who he was and think nobody should be offended about what he
07:49was doing on the court.
07:50And I would say, once you go on to the field, once you go on to the court, right, all
07:58those people you say, your brate and all that, okay, that's where it shows up.
08:04Because I know that, hey, if I'm going through something and I'm doing something and I'm trying to either get
08:10some money or whatever, I'm not going to make it harder for you, Marcos.
08:14I'm not going to make it harder for you, Vlad.
08:16I'm not going to make it harder for Tovin, right?
08:19I'm still going to have my dispute, but I'm not going to make life harder for you guys because you're
08:27not in this.
08:28And that's the problem I have with Jimmy.
08:32So, it's not, I'm not going to call you my friend and then treat you like dirt and go out
08:37there and do what Jimmy did.
08:39That's where I have a problem with Jimmy.
08:42He can warn his money, he can be difficult or whatever, but then come out and start the season and
08:47say,
08:47hey, I'm just going to go out there and ball and then shoot one-legged threes and sabotage the team.
08:53Okay.
08:54Final point on this.
08:55Why I don't blame Jimmy.
08:58With Jimmy, you've been the same.
09:00Without Jimmy, you're still the same.
09:02So, you're going to be, you are what your record says you are.
09:06You've been mid for the last four years.
09:08And in order for you to stop being mid, you got to make a move.
09:12You got to not have mid players.
09:14Stop.
09:15Yes.
09:16Like they still, listen, I get it, bro.
09:18I get it.
09:18You had the Ike Austins of the world.
09:20You had, you had, um, hell, we were going crazy for Hayward Highsmith or Max Strews.
09:27We get that.
09:28Gabe Vincent.
09:29You find these guys that nobody want and you turn them into great players.
09:33And the flip side to this, they don't win championships though.
09:37They don't help you win championships.
09:38And even sooner or later, you don't want to give them the money that they start thinking that they deserve.
09:43And then they go to other teams and then they realize that it only works when they're in the Miami
09:48heat.
09:48But in this current NBA, you haven't evolved in this current NBA to me.
09:56You haven't.
09:57When you did the big three, that was the big three era.
10:00You guys, you know, you guys rocked the big three era.
10:05You figured out the way how to move with the big superstars, putting the big players together and surrounding them
10:11with good role players.
10:12Now it's not a big three era.
10:14It's actually a big, you know, a great one and a very good two and depth and depth.
10:22Miami heat is not showing that right now.
10:24And that's because they don't have me.
10:26I mean, as good as Bam is, is he, he's not great.
10:30He's very good.
10:31He's not great.
10:32He's not.
10:33Put it this way.
10:38How can I put this?
10:39He is a very good player, but he's not the player you build your team around.
10:45You need that, that other guy, right?
10:53You need, you need that other guy to, on your team that you need that bona fide score, right?
11:03The, the responsibilities that Bam have far and exceed scoring.
11:09And so what happens is Bam can have a great game, but your team only score 80 points because you
11:16don't have that bona fide score.
11:17Everybody thought it was going to be Tyler.
11:20They thought it was going to be Norm.
11:22And, and, and, and, and so like with those guys health being unreliable, right?
11:30It all just goes on to Bam and his only penalty is being available.
11:35So all that stuff just automatically goes to Bam.
11:38And then we're not going to win.
