TOURIST IGNORES SAFETY WARNINGS TO SWIM TO FLOATING ICEBERG

WITH VID

BY LAKSHYARTHA SHARMA

Watch this clip where a man takes a dangerous dip in Iceland’s famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, swimming through the icy waters before climbing onto a small floating iceberg despite safety rules at the site prohibiting it.

Corneliu Valentin Ionescu from Reykjavik, Iceland, recorded the moment while visiting Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where a man was seen entering the freezing waters and making his way onto a floating chunk of ice.

Shortly after, lagoon staff approached him on a boat and instructed him to leave the iceberg and return safely to shore.

One commenter explained that more than 90% of an iceberg is submerged underwater and that they can shift, break apart, or tip without warning, making such actions extremely risky.

Another viewer joked about the man’s decision, writing that he “must have thought he was so cool… then he jumped.”
