00:00Yeah, football is football at the end of the day. When you love football, when I was a young kid,
00:03I went over to the park and there was no goals and you take your jump off and put it
00:07down as a goal. When you love football, you love football. I've had so many messages from people saying, you
00:13know what, what a great place to start. Of course, you'll get other people saying, maybe we thought you were
00:17going to start higher, but listen, like I said, once you get an opportunity like this, it's a fantastic football
00:22club.
00:23You have to be grateful and you have to do well as a manager, regardless of the level. Even the
00:29academy, when I was in the academy at Tottenham, of course, in academy, it's about developing players, but there's still
00:35three points to try and go and grab. I'm just going to say, have you found the first couple of
00:42days working with the players and the quality in the squad?
00:45Yeah, it's been good. Some good people, actually. Because I know a big part of management is not only putting
00:49on good sessions and that. You want to try and connect with the players. You want to try and get
00:52to know the players.
00:54Yeah, it's a good bunch. It's a good bunch. I knew that before I'd come in anyway. But in terms
00:59of the character they showed towards the end of the game, that's what I like the most, to be honest,
01:04because you could easily concede to the fourth and then your head's down.
01:07Because like I said, there's been a lot of noise around the club the last few days. But the fact
01:10that they kept their heads, showed a little bit belief towards the end of that, and it was good.
01:15Obviously experienced the highs and lows today, but presumably you've had that first taste and just really looking forward to
01:19getting going, going forward.
01:21Yeah, and in terms of the highs and lows, I think you always have to try and remain calm, even
01:25when you're winning. Stay calm.
01:28When we're losing, you've got to try and stay calm, because players probably look over to the manager and see
01:31how the manager's body language is, how he's reacted.
01:34I think it sends a message, because even when I was a player, I always looked over to the manager
01:38and thought, what's he thinking? Is he going to change it?
01:40Yeah, stay calm. Because once you do that, I think then it shows belief to the boys on the pitch.
01:45But yeah, of course it would have been better for all three points and that, but hopefully on Monday.
