00:03music
00:21Are you tired, ship of the desert?
00:24I'm tired too
00:26But don't tell anyone.
00:29We're almost there anyway.
00:41music
00:45Let's stop and see what happened to the little camel.
00:54What happened to you?
00:56Ah, don't move your foot.
01:00I know it hurts
01:02As you grow older, your instincts will guide you to avoid
01:06sharp thorns and spikes
01:08And all risks
01:10The cactus was hidden behind the sand.
01:42Sometimes it surprises us
01:44Sit down, friends
01:46We will take a break until your little sister recovers.
01:50Long ago, there lived a people who were unjust; they were the people of Thamud.
02:00music
02:02They worshipped idols and carved houses out of the mountains, turning them into magnificent palaces.
02:09Then God Almighty willed to send a prophet to Thamud.
02:14He benefited from them, the most monotheistic, pure, and righteous among them.
02:19His name reflected the truth of his essence.
02:22righteous
02:23That was his name
02:25But most of the people of Thamud disobeyed their prophet and did not believe him.
02:35Peace be upon you, good builder
02:39Yes
02:39What do you want
02:41I say peace be upon you
02:44I don't have time to return the greeting.
02:47As you can see, I'm busy.
02:49If you're a beggar, go somewhere else.
02:53Let's go
02:54I am not begging from anyone
02:57I don't want anything from the hand of any creature.
02:59I have enough, thank God.
03:03Sorry
03:04Your clothes don't suggest excess.
03:07My clothes are none of your business.
03:10I heard that you are building houses in the land of Thamud
03:13Is this correct?
03:15Yes
03:16I have the best shortcomings in that area.
03:20I don't want a palace
03:22I know your request
03:24You want us to carve out a private house for you in the mountain?
03:29So you look down at people from above
03:32What kind of sick thinking is this?
03:34I want a normal house
03:36I live alone
03:39I only need a small room
03:42And a place where I can bathe
03:44Before I attend the lessons of our master Saleh, peace be upon him
03:49So you are one of Saleh's followers
03:52Yes
03:53I have the honor
03:55Saleh filled our land with the poor and the weak.
03:59Students of wisdom and admonition
04:02Listen, man
04:04As long as you are from the tribe of Saleh
04:06You will not find anyone to sell you a house in the land of Thamud.
04:10Listen to my advice
04:12Promises from where I came
04:14How do I get back?
04:17I have finally found myself
04:19Following the noble Prophet
04:22Why do you hate your Prophet?
04:24We are not hostile
04:26There was hope among us before this
04:29He was one of the leaders of the people
04:31Rather, we were preparing him to lead us.
04:34He is indeed a man of sound mind.
04:38noble character
04:40But in recent days
04:42He surprised us with his call to worship the one God.
04:46And he abandoned the idols that our forefathers used to worship.
04:50His worth among you should increase
04:53After he called you to the truth
04:56What should we do with the idols?
04:58It is the history of fathers and grandfathers
05:01We also sell idols to neighboring tribes.
05:05So you worship your own interests and your own business.
05:10There is no power nor strength except with God.
05:12I'm going to look for a place to stay.
05:16There is a hostel that welcomes strangers at the edge of town.
05:21And in a stable for horses and cattle
05:24You might find a place for yourself there
05:47Are you sure, sir, that this place suits you?
05:51Yes, this enclosure is the only place free of idols.
05:57And I can rest a little
06:00Before I go to see Sidi Saleh in the morning
06:05Are you the one who claims to be our master Saleh, peace be upon him?
06:08Yes, my son
06:09Me too
06:11But I keep my faith secret
06:12Because the owners of the inn where I work
06:15It includes a group of corrupt individuals
06:17A gang of thieves and bandits
06:24Apologies to Al-Masadi
06:26The owners of the place have arrived
06:27I must serve them quickly.
06:29Otherwise they would harm me severely
06:34Hurry up, boy!
06:35Otherwise, I'll make you taste this thick thorn.
06:39I want more drinks
06:41Let's go
06:42We should celebrate Saleh's embarrassment
06:45And proving his incompetence to the people
06:47Don't forget, it's my idea.
06:50O Saleh, so that we may believe you
06:53Bring us a camel from the heart of the mountain
06:56The righteous man was looking at us in astonishment
07:00And I told him, "This is the nearby mountain."
07:05Why doesn't a camel give birth?
07:06Why don't you ask your Lord to split the mountain?
07:11About a camel that comes out of it
07:13His eyes widened even more than in surprise
07:16I told him
07:17Don't imagine, Saleh, that we are trying to make things difficult for you or put pressure on you.
07:21no
07:21But we want something extraordinary, something that has never happened before.
07:25We want a sign from God confirming your prophethood.
07:28And of course
07:29The mountain will never give birth to a camel
07:37Why don't you join us in laughter, my friend?
07:40I fear you may have made a foolish request.
07:45how?
07:46Saleh did not appear confused by the request.
07:50As if he were capable of achieving it
07:53What concerned him was that we were being disrespectful to our Lord.
07:56We demand tangible proof of his ability
07:59But he seemed confident that if he called upon his Lord
08:03The mountain gave birth to a camel
08:04What nonsense is this, man?
08:07Were you drunk before you drank the alcohol?
08:10Give your friend wine to drink until he returns to his normal self.
08:24Hurry up, good uncle
08:26All the people of Thamud are waiting at the great mountain.
08:29What matters to me is
08:31One man is our master Saleh
08:34How can he tolerate these people and listen to them?
08:40Do you really think that the mountain will give birth to a camel?
08:43I believe in Saleh and his call
08:46Whether the mountain was born or not
08:49Our master Saleh only said nine words
08:52The whole world turned against him
08:54O people of Abdullah, do you have no god other than him?
08:58The essence of monotheism, my son, lies in these nine words.
09:03It is the call of all the prophets
09:05O people of Abdullah, do you have no god other than him?
09:12Look at the crowds of people around the mountain
09:16It is strange how people are united by miracles but not by the call of the sent prophet.
09:24Today is the end of Saleh; no one will believe him anymore.
09:28I will always remind you that I am the one who came up with the idea that a mountain could give birth to a camel.
09:34Where is our master Saleh?
09:44Look, look, there's something bad moving at the top of the mountain.
10:17Translated by Nancy Qanqar
10:23Where am I?
10:26Who are these people?
10:28Why are they looking at me in surprise?
10:31They were supposed to prostrate themselves before God after they saw the sign with their own eyes.
10:35How can a camel like me find her freedom in this world?
10:42But am I a camel?
10:45Or is it just a picture of a camel?
10:47I will try to remember what happened
10:51I was part of the rocks
10:53I realize I am a rock
10:56Then the solid rock turned into soft flesh.
11:00Blood flowed through the veins
11:03Despite this, I don't feel I belong to the world of rocks or the world of animals.
11:10There must be some wisdom in my creation
11:16Do not harm the camel or stand in its way.
11:20Who are you to order us around?
11:23Shut up, you fool!
11:24Excuse me, sir, he doesn't know you're a follower of Saleh.
11:30Do you mean the Prophet Saleh, peace be upon him?
11:32Yes, yes, absolutely.
11:35Are there any other orders?
11:37I am not ordering anything
11:39I just wanted to remind you of what our master Saleh, peace be upon him, said.
11:45Preserve God's verse for you
11:48And beware of harming her.
11:53We hear and obey, O good Sheikh
12:08We were surprised by your birth yesterday from the mountain
12:11My birth was a surprise to me too.
12:13I heard that the water will be divided between us.
12:17Meaning you will drink alone one day
12:20And we drink on the second day
12:22And on the day you drink, you will give us milk to drink.
12:26But how can a camel give milk when it is still a newborn?
12:31I am not an ordinary camel
12:33I belong to the verses of God
12:35But is the milk of one camel enough to provide water for all these people?
12:42I don't know the answer to this question.
12:44I fear that hunger and oppression will prevail, and the weak will not find their share.
12:48Don't worry about your livelihood
12:51God is the one who feeds and gives drink.
12:53I am merely a tool carrying out the orders of my Creator.
12:57How kind and gentle you are!
13:00Excuse me, what is your name?
13:03Some people call me Saleh's she-camel
13:06This is an honor for me
13:08But I prefer it when people call me
13:12By God's camel
13:13You have blessed our land and our lives, O she-camel of God
13:17We all love you here
13:24What do you want?
13:26We have an invitation from the owner of the palace.
13:30If you're coming to steal, I warn you.
13:33We are all armed
13:35I told you we are guests
13:37The chief idol trader is the one who invited himself
13:41Let them pass
13:43Welcome
13:45Everyone is waiting for you
13:56I'll start by getting acquainted
13:58These Thamud gentlemen and their merchants
14:02Big liquor dealer
14:04and the chief slave trader
14:06And as you know, I am the biggest dealer in statues and idols.
14:11In Thamud
14:12These people are our friends.
14:16They represent the opinion of powerful people
14:19Those who have a voice
14:21Thank you, sir
14:24Tell me why they let you deny your palace?
14:28This is an important question
14:30I wanted to talk to you about the state of the country.
14:34We have been living in power and sovereignty over our land.
14:39Then we were surprised to find a camel sharing the water with us.
14:43She has a day alone
14:44And we all have the second day.
14:47That is, masters, slaves, and animals drink together.
14:51In order to make way for just a camel
14:54To drink and organize the rest
14:57And to Thamud, their brother Salih, He said
15:02O people, worship God; you have no other deity besides Him.
15:06Clear proof has come to you from your Lord
15:10This is the she-camel of God, a sign for you.
15:15So leave them to graze in God's land.
15:18Do not harm her, lest you be seized by a painful punishment.
15:24God Almighty has spoken the truth.
15:28And so the wicked met God's grace upon them with honorable efforts
15:34Did you sleep too, my little one?
15:37Okay, I'll finish it tomorrow, God willing.
15:42Thank God we are doing well
15:46Beware of spending it
15:49We will spend the night here
15:51And in the morning we continue on our way
15:53Yes, yes
15:55And I will complete for you the story of the she-camel of Saleh, peace be upon him.
