00:00how can you not be romantic about starting four and two and then four runs later you're four and
00:05five can i can i what a defeating final call that is from nadal can i can i can i
00:10reboot your your
00:12tease there yeah okay all right all right peyton can you just uh like go to the you're an idiot
00:16you don't know baseball again and i can intro for for chop here you're an idiot and you don't know
00:23baseball ranger fans you're not dreaming how can you not be romantic about baseball how can you not
00:31be romantic about eric nadal entering his brad sham bitterness there that was holy cow and i know
00:39he didn't throw that when he was here they do oh my god i love it see i love it
00:43cracks me up whatever
00:44and i know he did not have that it always cracks me up with brad god brad is brad is
00:53at you know
00:55he's at defcon 2 when he's doing a idgaf stage where like brad will be like if he sees something
01:01on a field that just disgusts him he'll tell you right there to discuss i love it call what i
01:05love
01:05brad nadal's always been more a little like you know eric's just kind of like you know oh you know
01:10it's a little bit calmer you know he's he's big into the the music scene and stuff he's just kind
01:15of a chill guy that was amazing i heard a creeping of the bitterness there yeah i know he didn't
01:20have
01:20that yeah cole rake is the same way right cole didn't have that kind of no when he was here
01:25i
01:25don't know what they they're they're not teeth they don't teach for a lot they do arm care they do
01:29long they do long toss in the minor leagues i don't know what are they what's going on what are
01:32they
01:32doing down there um but that is a great call boy that's a bitter call boy and i know he
01:39didn't have that when he was here rangers lose two to one uh they lose the series they get swept
01:47at home they score a grand total of four runs and that caused the dallas morning news to write an
01:56article uh about the ballpark basically saying this thing is a problem and it might be it very well
02:06might be because if you look at what's going on now they they cannot hit at home at all they
02:12don't
02:12hit well at home you see they're looking for ways to manufacture runs the ballpark is swallowing fly
02:19balls how many hard hit balls they have over the weekend they had of the balls that were 95 miles
02:26an
02:27hour or more they had 33 balls in play that carried an average exit velocity of 95 miles an hour
02:35or more
02:37only 11 of them land as base hits you know how hard that is to do you know how hard
02:43that is to do
02:43and now it's like what do they do here what are they jock p like the only offense they had
02:50yesterday
02:50was jock peterson who's going into that at bat his batting average was literally less than the
02:56weight of an acorn and he blind scrolled this thing up because he closed his eyes and swung at that
03:01dude he hit it he crushed it and it went two rows back and he wanted to make sure everybody
03:09knew he
03:09hit a home run that is the that stunned me yesterday i understand like being pumped up or whatever
03:16some of the lip reading that's going on on social media right now trying to to project what he said
03:22if that's what he said which was filled with expletives and basically like keep talking your
03:29trash you you know felines oh and he's yelling it towards the dugout but i assume he's yelling like
03:37he's yelled to the fans the media i'm assuming he's yelling it to anybody with eyes who has
03:41watched and evaluated what jock peterson's been the last two years which is awful
03:47then that's just that's a a ballsy way to react to the first hit yeah when we're when we're nine
03:53games in and you get your first you were oh for your first eight games i know he didn't play
03:58every
03:58game but you know what i mean yeah um i don't i don't know that i want you to throw
04:03in the bat and
04:04you know basically jaw the crowd whatever it was a big moment so i'm not gonna i'm not gonna fight
04:08with him it was a big moment i'm i'm happy they did it but that offense was putrid this weekend
04:14yep and it's not the reds offense was great either but it was good enough you know they
04:18manufactured some runs they were able to do that the rangers did not manufacture anything
04:24you know you that that that the one run the go-ahead run the reds had yesterday was a
04:29manufacturer i mean it was they find a way to get them on get them over and get them in
04:33yeah this is an instance of if you're if i tell you opening weekend
04:42you average allowing you average like you allowed three runs per game on average and you were at home
04:47for weekend i would assume you're gonna win two of those yeah and i and i tell you you didn't
04:52win a
04:52game that's that's bad and why i mean what was the i i gotta look here so it was obviously
04:58they had the
05:01shutout on saturday they scored the one run on sunday and then what it was their final run had
05:08come in they had two runs in the second inning on friday which means they finished with what was
05:16that the last 25 innings they scored three runs or two runs runs two runs and nothing on saturday
05:21then one on sunday you know when mckenzie gore strikes out nine and six innings and allows up
05:26you know allows three runs when jack leiter gives up one and strikes out nine and five innings and
05:31think about that your starters and on the back-to-back day struck out 18 guys well that was a
05:35back-to-back uh kamar rocker was in there sorry but okay so you'd be striking out 18 guys between
05:41the
05:41two and you don't win either game you well yeah and you're at home just nothing yeah this is that
05:47looked like last year's rangers now the question becomes because their their offense looked solid
05:53the first two series of the year on the road is it and that's the thing like you mentioned is
05:58this
05:58just a reverse amari cooper situation you just can't do you can't do anything at home yeah i don't know
06:05because you know booney kind of hinted at it with us that the ballpark may be in their heads a
06:13little
06:13bit yeah because the reds hit a couple of home runs out it's one of the it's one of the
06:19it is it
06:21is one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in base it is it's the third i think it's got the
06:26third lowest
06:26park factor in the sport and the park fact you know park factor is is how easy it is for
06:34uh or how
06:35much offense the park generates basically so big it does when you see evan carter crushed that ball
06:41yesterday when you see a ball get hit and then you watch it getting tracked in the outfield it's like
06:46how is it this big the walls are not that far out compared to the rest of major league baseball
06:50how does it same it feels like dead center in the polo grounds that does that their center field
06:57that i mean four four ten is not that deep there are plenty of stadiums out there that have a
07:04state
07:04have a center field right around the same distance yeah there's this 407 yeah that's i mean i boston i
07:12see boston has at least it's listed at 420 in center field uh yankee stadiums 408 in center the
07:21dodgers is is i think a little less but the ball doesn't travel well there let's see here so right
07:26now they are 329 to right field that's that's basically that's fine that's fine maybe league
07:32yeah it's a it's a little further barely but it's a little further than most most places are about
07:38320 yeah down the right field line left field they are i think they look like they're one of the
07:45shorter left field porches they are like they're shorter they're in the bottom 10 in the league in
07:51terms of left field it's it's not the distance of the fences it's the carry for whatever reason
07:57the ball doesn't carry something so what and that's there are plenty of indoor parks that the
08:03ball carries fine in there there are plenty of indoor parks where it doesn't just get so i i don't
08:12know somebody's got to explain to me somebody smarter than me in in how the the setup of an indoor
08:18park
08:18compared to another indoor park could kill the ball like that i don't know i don't know what it is
08:23i know they the metrodome used to have these fans that were blow and they shut the fans off and
08:28all
08:28of a sudden became a little more cavernous the offense though is being offensive um you know and
08:34it's only it's only a handful of games in we're only nine games in so it's way too early to
08:39make
08:39any snap judgments but it's clear some of the players are pressing you know wyatt langford goes
08:43up there in the first innings hacks at the first pitch i got no problem with that but wyatt's not
08:47tearing the cover off the ball he's trying to get a good pitch jock peterson i mean look i i
08:52think it's
08:52you can't have him hitting fifth you cannot have him that is that is criminal to put him
08:58in the five hole i'm sorry you go around the rest of the sport you know the reds team we
09:03played
09:03yesterday suarez had 49 home runs last year he's in the five hole the dodgers have will smith the
09:09world series hero he's in the five hole the yakis have stanton who's going to hit 500 home runs
09:14either this year or next he's in the five hole the royals have jack caglianone he's in the five
09:19he's hitting nearly 400 the red sox have will you're a brave their offense stinks but he's he's
09:26a much better hitter in the five well you just can't have a hole hitting fifth no you can't and
09:34this is this is wild here wyatt langford now has 40 plate appearances which is second on the team
09:41behind brandon nimmo i didn't realize this still just now he has not walked this season
09:47he's trying to get his hitting legs in under him i mean he's a little too much yeah zero walks
09:51to
09:5111 strikeouts surprising almost 10 games into the season that's surprising that that we're this far
09:56into the season and i mean to walk yet obviously like you're kind of picking and choosing here but
10:00i mean danny jantz with 24 plate appearances who's been decent at the plate yeah there's nothing wrong
10:05but he also hasn't drawn a walk this year so i mean you're talking about you've got 64 plate
10:09appearances between those two with zero walks at this point and that was supposed to be a big
10:12focus for them was more plate patience working counts which i feel like i don't want to just
10:18destroy that i feel like they have worked some counts and and gone deeper into counts but man it's
10:23uh to to be where they're at right now with just such well and then i then we haven't even
10:30gotten into
10:31what to do with the back end of the bullpen yeah that's its own problem because the bullpen itself
10:37you know they have the third best bullpen era or at least they did yesterday uh that's it's not
10:44indicative the numbers don't match up to to what it is because you know this is this is a couple
10:50of
10:50games now where it's it's been in the balance and the bullpen has let them down uh you know the
10:55first
10:56game against philly and then this one uh you know it's it's it sucks it really does i don't know
11:01what
11:01you do about robert garcia uh and those high leverage situations but he's our high leverage
11:06guy shout out to jack lighter you know nine strikeouts 85 pitches through five innings
11:11i love the nine k's uh they're this up the sport has is going to have problems with
11:18pitchers like you know like that that only go five innings it's just the way the game is i know
11:22fans on social media were like yeah this is great but you know what do you do but the other
11:26four
11:27it's the way the sport is man they're gonna they're gonna go max velocity for as long as they
11:32can and the moment that starts to die out at 85 pitches and probably in in three weeks he would
11:38go for another another inning and he'd stretch it out now not the time you know they're gonna they're
11:44gonna let him get his 85 pitches and and get out of there and one little bit of positive shout
11:48out to
11:49american league mvp brandon nimmo guy's awesome if he's not you're if he's not the one you're buying a
11:54jersey of i mean it's gonna have to be wyatt right but nimmo is doesn't have to be wyatt not
11:59until he gets a walk until he gets a walk nimmo's great nimmo is great uh one other baseball note
12:05i
12:05wanted to i wanted to touch on this took off yesterday if you haven't seen this man shout out
12:11to joe adele for bringing the athleticism back to the sport man holy cow that's awesome three home
12:18runs he robbed in the angels game on saturday night uh i'm not gonna we're gonna sit here and break
12:24down the catches but this is what the sport is needed it is needed athletes and athletes in the
12:28outfield quite frankly angels in the outfield angels in the outfield uh you know athleticism
12:35was robbed from the game it became static there's a bunch of guys taking walks swinging hard and you
12:39forget to have athletes out there this is awesome this is i will say on white i missed devon white
12:45of
12:45his bo jackson and ken griffey and jim ebbins these great athletic center fielders that made awesome
12:51catches how many times do you even see three baseballs that are it's possible to rob them
13:00and again rarely that this is the record so in for the most ever yeah and so like yeah it's
13:04like
13:04a it's incredible plays by him but also like how fluky and odd that you would have three balls that
13:10barely were just right over the fence for somebody to be even be able to rob in the same game
13:14i think
13:14i think this was the right like i think nobody had ever done more than one in a game i
13:19think nobody
13:19ever robbed more than which seems impossible that nobody in the history of the sport never
13:23robbed more than one in a game i thought that's what's sad i saw i felt like tory hunter robbed
13:27one every game i think he did well i thought i thought i saw that nobody had robbed two in
13:31a game
13:32okay fine this is three this is this was awesome this is incredible go go check it just joe adele
13:38joe without an e joe adele google it check it out and uh and you'll be happy if you're a
13:44baseball fan
13:45you
