00:00Since 2025, the Johor State Government has channeled more than 143 million into upgrading
00:07tourism infrastructure, public facilities and accessibility across the state. This includes
00:14improving roads, visitor amenities, gateways and tourism access points so that overall visitor
00:21experience in Johor becomes smoother, more seamless and more enjoyable. Today's recognition
00:27of Johor as Malaysian favourite destination at Mata Fair KL 2026 is something we can all be proud of.
00:36It shows that Johor is no longer seen as just a stopover but as a destination with complete
00:42experiences from heritage and culture to island, nature, gastronomy, family attraction and lifestyle
00:50tourism. I would like to thank the 30 tourism industry players and tourism activities who are
00:57here with us today at Johor Pavilion. Their commitment means a lot because they are the one
01:02bringing the real Johor experience directly to the market. All of this support our bigger mission
01:10under Visit Johor 2026. We are working toward our target of 12 million visitors especially from the
01:16domestic market and neighbouring countries like Singapore and Indonesia. The momentum is already
01:22very positive. Based on data from Johor State Immigration Department, Johor recorded 25 million
01:28foreign visitors movement in 2025 with 3.95 million already recorded as of January this year.
01:36At this point in time we are going through yet another crisis. We've come out of the pandemic
01:41only to experience a short period of growth and then be hit by another crisis. But it is not the
01:47crisis that
01:48defines this industry. It is the industry's resilience that defines itself. And so the Mata Fair is just
01:56proof that this industry will not only survive yet another crisis but it will thrive and it will flourish.
02:06I think this is the main message that we want to take away from the Mata Fair today.
02:10And it will only do so because all of you are here working together as one industry.
