Transcript
00:00The officer would have held the gate and that was shocked.
00:07He was taken to the hospital sometime after.
00:10I think his heart was racing and things like that.
00:14But an incident like that, the after effects,
00:17they will know if he ends up with a heart problem or things like that.
00:21A shocking incident at MSP.
00:24And according to the Prison Officers Association, it's not the first time.
00:30I would have spoken to another officer and he told me he got shocked already.
00:34That he'd have been looking for the wires when he go there.
00:37He said he was looking to see the wire on top.
00:41He didn't see it, but the inmates and them had it on the ground.
00:46They run it on the ground instead.
00:48And when he came, he got stuck.
00:51He pulled back one time.
00:54You see, you would post an officer there and he wouldn't know what to look for
00:58before he could hold a gate or anything like that.
01:01The association took to its Facebook page alleging attempted murder.
01:06However, Logie says the police will have the final determination.
01:11Let's see the police investigate and see what really took place.
01:16According to Logie, MSP and the entire prison is a hazard.
01:21We have been complaining about these wires, exposed wires, for the longest while,
01:29especially at maximum security prison.
01:34What would have happened?
01:36That prison was not designed to function without air conditioning.
01:41And the air conditioning has been done for several years.
02:07The association is once again calling on the authorities to make things right
02:12by upgrading the prison infrastructure and addressing staffing issues.
02:18Most of the prison compounds have electrical problems.
02:25Most of them.
02:26MSP, the whole entire golden roof compound, right?
02:31And they have no generator, they have no backup supply.
02:34So we're suffering from resources in terms of the upgrading of the facilities.
