00:01:05you saw the news well yeah because now we have two we're gonna have two in las vegas fernando

00:01:11granted if he does go number one overall and kirk cousins they are like both built in a lab of

00:01:18of quarterback and media trained and like nerd but also very good at football i don't know i'd be

00:01:25really cool to see their dynamic in the in the locker room in the qb room yeah i mean i

00:01:29think

00:01:29he's the perfect guy for fernando right oh for sure i feel like the kirk cousins uh chain on the

00:01:34plane is so interchangeable with fernando oh yeah you could easily throw him right in there and you

00:01:38could see it perfectly it's gonna be like hook it's gonna be he's gonna pass that down to fernando

00:01:43that's the contract he got yeah what what it's a it's a little deceiving though okay it's a little

00:03:23you're a team like the raiders i think that's a good start to at least keep yourself in contention

00:03:30rather than just start the rookie right away so so you think he starts right away or no

00:03:34if you're paying him his money i think kirk will play right away and serve as a someone that

00:03:40fernando can look up to and learn from his first year i don't think it's bad for a quarterback to

00:03:45sit behind a veteran like kirk i mean it's i know fernando wants to play and if you're a number

00:03:51overall pick you want to play and you think you're going to play but just situation i think it's better

00:03:56for fernando to just sit back learn and watch how a veteran conducts an offense conducts a huddle

00:04:04learns plays learns an offense things like that i will say in that same vein too i feel like if

00:04:09cousins feels like he's lost control of the team or he's not playing to the best of abilities

00:04:13he will take that step back and pass the rock off and be like look man it's your turn now

00:04:19if you need anything i'll be your guide whatever you need but if he's not serving the team to his

00:04:23potential i feel like he's man enough to take that step back and give the ball over i mean you

00:04:27look at a guy like drake may who sat for most of his rookie year second year he's going to

00:04:32bowl yeah you know it it definitely has its benefits but with fan bases you get frustrated

00:04:38pretty quick so if they're losing it's fernando time do the raiders have a right to be frustrated

00:04:45that's what i was wondering do that do the raiders have a fan base that will that will make this

00:04:49quickly i don't i don't think that they do respectfully to raiders fans i just don't think

00:04:55that they do i think kirk starts but i would still set the over under like three and a half

00:05:35learn some some things and i don't know i don't think the raiders are as bad i'm with you i

00:05:57coming in there he can teach fernando he can learn fernando can learn from a veteran center like that

00:08:12two uh big games i think it's a great final four oh yeah i agree a great final four dana

00:08:17most excited for in the uh illinois i'm just excited that duke's not in it how about that uh america

00:08:24america won last week when duke didn't win that game we got dan hurley i just wanted dan hurley cam

00:08:30the whole time um illinois though is just they're a good story they they've they've been just kind of

00:08:37there was a there was a moment in time a couple maybe a month ago where they were struggling a

00:08:43little bit but you could see they were missing some guys uh they weren't fully healthy and once they

00:08:49got fully healthy as you can see in this tournament they've been playing awesome and their offense is

00:08:54predicated around making threes so when those threes don't go down they're in a little bit of

00:08:59trouble but they've been shooting well and um i'm excited for the illini fan base i mean they got a

00:09:04chance at winning this game and then in that finals if they take on arizona or michigan whoever it might

00:09:10be i think they have a chance to win it all for sure and coming in as a three seed

00:09:15a lot not a lot

00:09:16of people were talking about them but man they've made some noise so there was a heavy slant to yukon

00:09:22though and that whole discussion right there is that so you're like you're pre you're all in on

00:09:26yukon yukon because they played obviously kind of weird they've they've been a little bit up and

00:09:32down like they they lost to marquette you saw a lot of flaws in the in that game and even

00:09:38in the

00:09:38tournament like they haven't looked perfect um they have i would say the second best player in the

00:09:43final four in terrace reed but um there's been some bumps along the way so i'm not like totally

00:09:49i'm not totally confident in yukon i'd probably lean towards illinois but i think it's gonna be

00:09:54a barn burner you can barn burny i didn't say anything about yukon no i mean initially you said

00:09:59you open it up you were like all about yukon and you're like oh i didn't you said i think

00:10:03illinois is a shot did i hear that wrong or no i feel like you heard it right you're like

00:11:09would be 15 point favorites they'd probably be five point my problem with illinois is i've not

00:11:15watched a lot because i can't bet it yeah i feel so terrible because it's like i would love to

00:11:19what's happening but a fun team without having the ability to put my money on it i'm it's just not

00:11:25doing it they're a very fun team they got a bunch of a bunch of of balkans you know what

00:11:50makes a lot of threes all right well then get into the other side of the bracket then arizona michigan

00:11:54make the case for who you're taking in that one i still haven't decided but i'm leaning toward

00:11:58side now okay i'm side now arizona i will be i will be choosing arizona i think i think michigan

00:12:04has the best player in yaks linda board but i believe arizona has the best collection of players

00:12:09and the best team and when it comes down to it those dudes are so scrappy and so physical

00:12:18that it's going to be a dogfight and i think it's going to be a one or two point game

00:12:21as shown by the

00:12:22spread there i think it's going to be a one possession game at the end of this one but to

00:12:25me it's arizona

00:12:26they just have the better collection of talent whereas michigan is is obviously just as um you

00:12:33know well-rounded but arizona is just so physical and they don't need to make threes and they can

00:12:39just beat you down low i'm going with arizona so this is not the national championship in your eyes

00:12:44whoever wins this game you will give the other side of the bracket yes yes okay well watching uconn

00:12:50see what they like how they came back against duke watching you know has as dana said illinois just

00:12:55come through and even though they haven't been like you know the most exciting team as far as

00:13:00like you know playing they still got a shot i mean this is the final four no one's going down

00:13:05without a fight definitely i mean i mean burry's in arizona they've just been dominating everyone

00:13:11and i know michigan has too to some regard but i'm all over arizona ball man yeah ball

00:13:17michigan has had a they've had a historical season historic season did i say historical

00:15:37was watching it live and luca got a little hamstring thing as well um but the lakers on the on

00:15:45side they've been playing very well and it kind of comes down to their defense with them and i would

00:15:50say lebron's taking more of like that third the third you know star role which he should you're right

00:15:56behind reeves where in the past lebron might be the second or first option and i think he's just

00:16:01kind of been more comfortable with being that third guy um but i don't know how long luca's gonna be

00:16:06out it didn't look great nba players tend to be a little bit dramatic with their injuries so yeah

00:16:11he could be back in like two weeks who knows but if he's out for any extended period of time

00:16:17they're screwed but they they were looking pretty good and before this injury um yeah see it's a little

00:16:24he's got he's got bad history with hamstrings i know you're gonna you're gonna i'm trying to find

00:16:29the the injury little hamstring thing i'm big on injury your anti-soft tissue injuries well no no

00:24:05haven't seen a position player this young in baseball since one soto and you look at like 19 year olds

00:24:09who played who played major league baseball kangaroo jr bryce harper like i said juan soto

00:24:15mike trout like the group is pretty good so i'm not saying this kid's gonna be that good but

00:24:21this is a special group this kid's and this is a special player he's always spent a week in triple

00:24:47are in the major leagues are already really good there's so many good young players in baseball right

00:24:51now it's such an awesome time got chased the water but in cleveland there are so many uh carson

00:24:57bench with the mets there's so many like young players right now in baseball they're having huge

00:25:00impacts already it's awesome um yeah you can see sarah lang's tweet here um i mean look at it

00:25:06andrew jones i mean this is the hall of famer this is the company that connor griffin is going

00:25:10to be in when he takes the field today it's awesome if you love baseball like i do this is

00:25:14such an awesome awesome time to be a fan well it's awesome as well for pirates fans who had

00:25:18pretty much been miserable about everything so it's nobody thought that they would do this

00:25:23i saw i was read you know i did the old scan through the the pirates read it they were

00:25:28in disbelief

00:25:29that they paid this kind of money especially for a guy like i said who's never played

00:25:32so i guess the question is is skeins next or they stop in here what's what's the skein skeins watch

00:25:58career of my lifetime and i'm not young i have gray hair uh i mean dwight gooden maybe is the

00:26:03that's had a better one two uh seasons than anyone at all besides skeins that i can remember he's had

00:26:10a 190 era in each of the first two seasons so to pay skeins now when he's had two years

00:26:15of massive

00:26:15success would cost so much money i don't know if the pirates should do it pirates should spend a lot

00:26:21more money the pirates payroll should be a hundred million dollars more than it is easily so they

00:26:25should do it i don't think they will clemmer i'm a pirates guy is this is there some excitement

00:26:32behind the pirates like should i start watching the pirates again be excited about this team like

00:26:37is this something i gotta look i'm gonna tell everyone to watch baseball because baseball is

00:26:41the greatest thing in the world but i think you should watch the pirates because skeins is awesome

00:26:45you had a young pitcher named bubba chandler who's really exciting mitch keller is another starter you

00:26:49have that's like a solid piece they went and got some bats they went got marcelo zuna he's their dh

00:26:55uh you went and got brandon lao he's their second baseman so you have some pieces there that are

00:26:59like interesting to watch the pirates will be competitive this year i know if you're a pirates

00:27:03fan mike like you know the pirates just haven't been competitive horrible they are competitive this

00:27:07year not saying they're going to win the world series or even make the playoffs but they'll be good

00:27:10all right and you have to watch you've got to watch connor griffin and you've got to watch paul

00:27:24all right he's not happy with the pirates all right he wanted to go back they didn't want him

00:27:31and he was very upset in the offseason he was very upset i was half joking i didn't think he

00:27:35was still

00:27:35in the league he's still going dude still in the league still going like whenever the uptons were

00:27:39still in the league for so long just always just looked and they were somewhere else dana you said

00:27:44you haven't really been following along well i'm gonna help you follow along here because boba

00:27:54to see a result like that then you had the line drive first just is the process there just maybe

00:27:59the results not where they are for you at this point it's baseball i mean i can only control what

00:28:51look good but it's april like baseball offenses in like early april and march typically stink just

00:28:56because the ball's not traveling very far uh hitters are just kind of usually behind the pitchers

00:29:00but this is not good i'm not thrilled i think boba chet's gonna be fine boba chet's an awesome

00:29:04baseball player i'm more concerned with some other guys pulling their weight like a david peterson who got

00:29:09rocked last night like i need those guys to step up for my mets to do well this year clemmer

00:29:14a massachusetts guy i will admit i've kind of uh fallen off of the red socks bandwagon in years past

00:29:21and if they make the playoffs i'll be all in i'll be watching every single playoff game i'm one of

00:29:25those fans at this point but right now it doesn't look like things are going great obviously our boss

00:29:30is very invested in the red socks and is not happy you kind of take us through what's going on

00:29:35over a fenway yeah so if you're a red socks fan you have every right to be really frustrated right

00:29:40now uh i heard dave on the show yesterday you he should be mad and this is i agree with

00:29:46dave this

00:29:46is a john henry issue want to hear something crazy the payroll for the red socks in 2026 is lower

00:29:52than

00:29:52the payroll in 2016 like that can't happen like that's that's nuts and that's just the owner just

00:29:58doesn't care anymore and you know he's owned the red socks for nearly 25 years he's won four titles

00:30:04john henry has had a very nice run with the red socks if you don't care about something then have

00:30:09someone else on the team but the red socks mean way too much to boston way too much to new

00:30:14england

00:30:14i grew up in new hampshire i know how much the red socks mean to people in new england like

00:30:19if you

00:30:19don't love the red socks anymore don't love owning them sell them to someone who does but no instead

00:30:24he's found a way now where you can have a 200 million dollar payroll people in new england are so

00:30:28oiled they'll go to the games he'll still make a profit and he goes home happy that's not fair

00:30:33the red socks deserve to have the best owner possible to run that team because it means so

00:30:38much to new england and they pay those ticket prices are so high like you cannot it's so wrong

00:30:45it's malpractice to not put the best team on the field and charge people families this much money

00:30:50to go to the games shame on john john henry the red socks will be will be okay this isn't

00:30:54a terrible

00:30:54team but they should be way better than they are look at last year rafael devers they trade him for

00:30:59nothing garbage and then alex redwing is gone and how they use that payroll on some old veterans like

00:31:06sonny gray and wilson contraras that's wrong the red socks payroll should be a hundred million dollars

00:31:10more red socks are so disappointing because the ownership is foul i love it clever i have a question

00:31:17for you we've gone through a little bit of the pirates the mets and the red socks as a guy

00:31:21has been watching baseball as someone who likes to bet baseball who are some of your dark horse

00:31:26candidates to potentially win it all oh uh so i i mean it's not a dark dark horse but i

00:31:32really like

00:31:33seattle now the yankees just took care of seattle in seattle so um but i think seattle's pitching

00:31:39rotation is really strong i like that they have josh nalor now for the whole season i do believe in

00:31:44seattle i'm not saying win it all because the dodgers are just so head and shoulders above everybody

00:31:49see dodg mariners third it's not really much of a dark horse i'm surprised honestly this this kind of

00:31:54surprised me i would have guessed the blue jays would be ahead of the mariners and i think that

00:31:57just shows you how confident people are in the yankees but if you look further down this list

00:32:01say the tigers tigers have a pretty good one two punch now they're off to a two and four star

00:32:05but

00:32:05it's so early but frambor valdez scoobal one two in a playoff series that's pretty good i think the

00:32:11tubs the cubs look good this year like i like i like the roster they have um you go free

00:32:17on the list

00:32:18if you really want to reach you know orioles or royals the royals do play in a pretty weak division

00:32:22so

00:32:22maybe they can kind of make some things happen but man look at the dodgers though the dodgers are

00:32:26so good yeah clamor we're a week into this season which means we're a week into abs you're a purist

00:32:32i want to know how you think it's going do you like the abs system so far we had our

00:32:37off in the orioles game which is kind of crazy too so your thoughts overall love love love the abs

00:32:44gone to two mets games this year already and the pop you get when they say challenging and then you

00:32:55audience the crowd is just like on their on their on their pins and needles waiting to see if that's

00:33:00a ball or strike it is awesome awesome awesome i love it um look at this everyone gets all excited

00:33:05oh strike oh it goes crazy i love it love love love baby abs and the pitch clock are two

00:33:12innovations in sports in the last 20 years yeah i was saying this on tuesday too don't you agree that

00:33:17when you're in the stadium it's a little less intrusive as well like you don't see the sponsored

00:33:21segment the announcers don't kind of talk it all up it's a little it's a little more subtle in the

00:33:26stadium it is and you're right and it goes right to it because like in you know you're in the

00:33:30crowd

00:33:30you're like you don't see the guy hit the head so you're like oh you're unless you have better seats

00:33:34than i do i'm way i'm way in the top i'm way in the rafters but uh but you know

00:33:39all of a sudden

00:33:39like are they challenging and then you see it on the screen you're getting all excited bar strike people

00:33:44going crazy i love it and it's super quick i love it it's done so well i said that and

00:33:49the

00:33:49pitch clock have made baseball so much more fun to watch and i think for like even casual fans can

00:33:54go

00:33:54and enjoy a game quicker and have like fun video like excitement like that that's awesome are the

00:33:58umpires uh cool with it or are they oh i've seen this guy buckner stuff if cb buckner is crossing

00:34:08into the cadix line of vision like it's not going right right like even that's crossed my desk and

00:34:15i'm like whoa this guy's having a tough have you guys seen goodfellas you know the end of goodfellas

00:34:20they got to put henry hill in like arizona and he's eating spaghetti sauce that's cb buckner i think

00:34:25he's got to go and win his protection he's not popular guy right now or cb uh chris what's your

00:34:31who's your biggest surprises right now um i think it's really just the young players in baseball i know

00:34:37i kind of hit it with the when i talk about connor griffin but the impact that these guys are

00:34:40having right off the bat uh it's it's really fun to see and it makes i i think having like

00:34:46this

00:34:46young influx of talent which i will be i love baseball baseball a few years ago was not a fun

00:34:51product the games were four hours long you didn't have as many young exciting players and the young

00:34:55exciting players you had unfortunately just didn't have like a super boisterous personality i feel like

00:35:00we saw it with the world baseball class you got a lot of young energetic guys and you got guys

00:35:04that

00:35:04are making immediate impact so like uh like i can't even say hey like i'm a casual pirates fan

00:35:09pirates have been good you can jump right in watching a guy like connor griffin and paul skeins

00:35:13and bubber chandler there's a three top shelf guys that are very young that are going to be with the

00:35:18team for under team control for four or five six years and connor griffin nine years like you can go

00:35:23and buy a connor griffin jersey and know like oh this guy is going to be on my team for

00:35:27a while i can be

00:35:28comfortable buying this and like i think for fans knowing that you have all these young players out

00:35:33there is super exciting i mean i could say the marlins were five and one but they played a pretty

00:35:36weak competition for me i think the biggest takeaway from the season is going to be these

00:35:40young players and it's awesome that's as a baseball fan that's what i love to see i got a question

00:35:44for

00:35:44you guys as just baseball fans and going to games um do you think it's getting to a point this

00:35:51is just

00:35:51playing devil's advocate where you're sitting there and you're just trying to relax is it too fast

00:35:56the game going by or like you just want to relax and have your beers and sit there for three

00:36:01and a

00:36:01half hours or is it like okay this is the exact right time i think there are points where it

00:36:07is

00:36:07a little too fast especially when you're on a rooftop and you got the all you can drink deal

00:36:10and that gets cut off a lot sooner than it regularly would however that is better than the alternative

00:36:16of sitting there forever right and having guys get off the you know get off the uh get off the

00:36:20rubber

00:36:20and just kind of scratch their armpit and stuff it was too slow right so it's better than the

00:36:25alternative i don't know how you feel though clumber if you had told me in 2026 we'd be having a

00:36:29discussion right now well hey if you told me my weird face would be on tv i know something was

00:36:32really wrong if you told me in 2026 that we'd be having a discussion if baseball is too fast

00:36:38i would i wouldn't believe it i'm like we must be living in some alternate universe i love to have

00:36:42this discussion at all that makes my heart happy uh what do you think about the yankees climber we

00:36:46talked some mets so we got to talk yankees their starting pitching has been fantastic uh i mean

00:36:52they're going to win the al right you just got to be ready for it they're really good

00:36:57their pitching staff is so elite so right now they have louis heel he's in the minors right now

00:37:01but only because they only need four starters because the day's off but louis heel is their

00:37:04fifth starter and this guy had a sensational rookie year and had a 3.3 era last year get this

00:37:09though

00:37:10we got carlos redon coming back to the team he won i think he got the league and wins last

00:37:14year

00:37:14he's coming back i think in early may you have garrett cole we all know garrett cole he's coming back

00:37:20in

00:37:20june or july and then you know it that's seven guys deep now like that's just unfair the yankees

00:37:27clark schmidt might come back at the end of the year that's another good starter for them i mean

00:37:31the and the yankees bullpen is so stacked you know you know duval you know bednar but they got a

00:37:35guy

00:37:35fernando cruz who can pitch that sixth seventh inning for them and then on top of the lineups

00:37:39pretty good they brought back a lot of the same guys and they have a better bench than they had

00:37:42to

00:37:43start the year last year the yankees are legitimately like borderline great team and it makes me sick

00:40:08then last up i've been talking about how even these teams are and how i think this is going to

00:42:04uconn and illinois again i've said i said earlier haven't been perfect in this tournament they've had

00:42:08some like halves or full games where they haven't looked great so that game could be a stinker

00:42:14just because like illinois when they played who was it um uh iowa or was it houston houston

00:42:24when they played houston it it was it was kind of low scoring it was gross houston was the grossest

00:42:31part of that right but your point remains yeah um so it could that game might not just it might

00:42:37just

00:42:37be an ugly basket well that's the thing too you're you know two teams that like the three-point shot

00:42:41you get in that big stadium the depth perception everyone talks about it does have stinker potential

00:42:47i'm just worried we're i'm worried we're going a little like we have the highest expectations ever for

00:42:53that right side of the bracket and what if it doesn't live up to those expectations but i think

00:42:57we have them for a reason this is the year where everyone thought like hey the one seeds are going

00:43:01to be there obviously duke lose a heartbreaker and uh florida does as well but these are the two

00:43:05teams that kind of lived up to their end of the bargain i think the expectations should be there

00:43:09i agree i'm just i just don't want i just don't want to be let down it's one good ball

00:46:35ever seen and he's caddied you know on tour for 30 plus years so uh yeah looking forward to getting

00:46:41there uh we're getting there a little early so um you know i'm just excited to get back on property

00:46:47hey akshay mike katik football player but i like the social aspect of golf love hanging with the boys

00:46:53um is your mental preparation kind of the same going into a weekend like the masters or do you

00:47:00kind of heighten your your preparation like what kind of what's that process like

00:47:05yeah i think um this is the first year where you know i haven't played the week before so

00:47:12it's definitely been like certain things that i've learned from previous years

00:47:18on the golf course what tee shots i like what tee shots i don't like what i need to focus

00:47:23on

00:47:24um and it's always hard to prepare mentally for the masters i mean we're all so excited going into

00:47:30it but you know last year i was like feeling amazing going into wednesday and then thursday i

00:47:36like felt like i wasn't swinging it good my mind was you know racing and then um so again it's

00:47:44hard

00:47:44you got to keep you know my kind of keep saying keep doing what i'm doing uh so that's what

00:47:48i'm

00:47:49trying to do i'm trying to enjoy this year more than i did last year um so that's kind of

00:47:55the

00:47:55plan you know and just see where where the cards fall awesome you talked a little bit about the

00:47:59the 12th hole at the masters obviously an iconic par three you being a lefty does that give you

00:48:06an advantage on that hole how do you how do you approach that that hole when you head up there

00:48:11it definitely helps like if i pull it it's going to go further and carry farther so for like the

00:48:19right pin for instance where righties you know if they push it on the target it's short for me i

00:48:25pull

00:48:25it you know i still has a chance to get to the flag but it's still such a hard hole

00:48:30it doesn't matter

00:48:31you know it might help me a little bit but you know the wind is the craziest thing they call

00:48:38it like

00:48:38i want to say it's like called the vacuum effect where if you look on 11th it'll be blowing like

00:48:45downwind and then you get there the trees are blowing the opposite direction and then you look

00:48:50at the flag and it's blowing completely it's like blowing three different directions so it's such a

00:48:55guessing game there it doesn't matter but um yeah it's a really really cool hole it's got to be the

00:49:00coolest 140 yard shot that we hit you know all year yeah so you're speaking there to how difficult

00:49:07golf is what is what do you think is like the most underrated aspect of how difficult golf is

00:49:13that we the viewer don't really grasp from watching on tv um i definitely think

00:49:22the amount of pressure we play under is underestimated um obviously everyone's really

00:49:29good on tour everyone anyone can win any week but the amount of pressure you play with

00:49:34is like really really crazy uh your heart's pumping your hands are shaking your mind can be racing like

00:49:42it is wild and then on top of that you know you have to deal with you know people saying

00:49:47stuff while

00:49:48you're putting or whatnot so it's it's wild when you get in those situations even when i played like

00:49:53a pro-am this year um we were on one hole and i'm good friends with the guy i played

00:50:00with and he hits

00:50:01it to like seven feet on this island green and uh you know there's a bunch of people watching and

00:50:09i

00:50:09can just see i can just see his hands like shaking you know he hadn't done that all day so

00:50:14it's pretty

00:50:15crazy you know what can happen when we get in those situations so what's it like then when you're

00:50:19walking on that first uh tee is a tee box is it just the heart's pumping like a rocket once

00:50:24you

00:50:24get that out or you finally calm down a little bit what walk me through that a little bit yeah

00:50:29i mean

00:50:30i think it's different for everyone um like i i said this before but arnold palmer i literally felt

00:50:38like i was gonna i was gonna throw up the whole day i texted max homa or he texted me

00:50:43good luck

00:50:44and uh i was like do you have any tips i'm about to throw up like i just wanted to

00:50:50win so bad

00:50:52and typically for me it's funny like every time i don't i either start out really good or if i

00:50:58start

00:50:58out poorly it kind of like settles me down so um i remember the third round at arnold palmer like

00:51:05hit it in the water on three uh off the tee and i told my caddy i was like all

00:51:09right now i feel like

00:51:10good now i ended up making par there um and then but sunday was like my mind was really calm

00:51:17but my
