00:11period after free trials or automatic annual renewals, and companies must give clear information
00:17up front. The changes are expected to come into force in spring 2027. The Department for Business
00:24and Trade says the average person could save nearly £170 a year, with a total public saving
00:31of £400 million. Certain memberships, such as charitable or heritage subscriptions, are exempt,
00:38but the rules aim to protect millions of UK customers.
