00:00Households across Wirral will begin receiving weekly food waste collections from early July,
00:06as the council starts a rollout across the borough. Around a third of homes will join
00:12the scheme from July 6, with further collections beginning later during July and August. Residents
00:19will receive indoor and outdoor food waste caddies, along with liners and guidance explaining how the
00:25service works. Wirral Council says collections will take place on the same day as grey and green bin
00:32pickups. The authority says the changes are part of the government's simpler recycling programme,
00:38designed to standardise collections and increase rates across England and Wales.
